Customers frequently mention the exceptional sound quality and immersive Dolby Atmos experience of the 5.1.2-Channel Hi-Res Audio Sound Bar. Many users are impressed with its overall value and user-friendly setup process. While some users wish for stronger bass performance, most agree that the sound bar delivers an excellent audio experience.
I was seeking a new soundbar that was not a focal point of our home theater setup. Having used the Yamaha YSP-4000 with a Def Tech Supercube I thought I might have to buy the next YSP-5600 to achieve the new Dolby Atmos sound – the issue is the size. I bought the LG OLED C7P 65" and just wanted a solid sounding system. I purchased the Sony HT-ST5000 and tested for 2 days after setting all the parameters and downloading the software update - the wife and I could not achieve the best voice sound or subwoofer punch we had grown fond of the YSP/Supercube (I mentioned this in my Sony HT-ST5000 review on Best Buy). Upon returning the Sony soundbar I found out that the LG SK10Y was available that day and immediately purchased it (I listened to it at CES 2018). The sound bar is 57" long and fits perfectly below the C7P. I added a 12" shelf under the TV that allowed the Atmos top firing speakers to hit the ceiling. The setup was quick and installed the LG Speaker app on my phone and began to run the Dolby Atmos / Dolby Vision videos proving by the C7P. The base response from the 500w sub punched instead of rumbled and the voice from the SK10Y was perfect with the right amount of base (not tinny). I changed the sound fields on the SK10Y to ASC/Standard/Bass Boost etc. via the app and truly enjoyed the difference. The soundbar picks up when ATMOS is available and automatically sets the soundbar appropriately – nice. I soon wanted more sound so I went back to Best Buy and purchased the LG SPK8-S speakers for the full surround effect – are they required? – No – just a nice addition to use the surround feature on the LG Speaker app – that’s another review though. Well worth the $$$.

You ever buy something being skeptical about it, then use it and be blown away? That is this sound bar. I have never been so surprised by sound quality til I got this sound bar. It is WELL worth the money.

This sound bar looks amazing paired with my 65oled tv. It's size may be intimating for some , but the sound quality I'd truely impressive. Pair is with the LG TK10 stand and you have an ultra clean setup , looks like the tv is floating above the sound bar
