A: Hello, Bill. To access and clean the filter on your LG WM8900HBA washer, first, make sure the unit is empty, turned off, and drained of any visible water in the tub. Grab a shallow pan and have it ready by placing it near the access panel to collect the water. Open and remove the access panel on the lower front left by pulling the tab downward and out, revealing the drain hose and drain pump filter. There will be a large stopper and a residual water hose. Love our new washer from LG!
We're LG people at our house so LG was the only brand we considered for a washer/dryer set. We are beyond pleased with this washer so far. It's fairly easy to use, seems efficient, has a large capacity, the internal LED light is a nice touch, and I love that you can use the app to control it and see how much time is left. I'll say the only issue we had with it was that we accidentally overloaded it and the cycle was stopped midway through but at least the app told us what to do which was to redistribute the weight or remove some clothing. Without the app, I wouldn't have known what the problem was so that was nice. Overall, we're very happy with our purchase!

New Washer and Dryer
Replaced our 16 year old Maytag. This combo is light years ahead of old washer and dryer from a technology perspective. Best Buy matched the price we had found locally and had it in stock. Bought it on Friday had it on Monday. Love that fact that it determines load size and cycle time automatically. Quite, efficient and easy to use. These are huge!

Best washer for large families!
I have never had another washer that can wash quilts, shoes, and rugs with ease like this one. We have a large family and the size alone saves me a lot of time because I can wash 3x what smaller washers do. I love how easy it is to keep clean. This washer has been amazing for us.
