Excellent LG TV!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is now the third LG TV we've purchased (32" in Master Bedroom, 50" in Front Room, and this 55" in our Family Room), and the nineth LG product we own, and we are NEVER disappointed with the products they produce. The picture on this TV is EXCEPTIONAL; I mean, it really is truly impressive. And when you pair it up with the LG sound bar and LG 3-D/Blu-Ray player and watch something like Guardians of the Galaxy or Avatar, the color and clarity will just blow your mind! The ONLY "detractor" I can come up with is I guess I expected more from the Magic Remote. Unless I just haven't used it enough to learn everything, the ONLY difference I see over the remotes for our other LG TV's is the mouse and/or tracker. And, to be honest, I find it a little aggravating. Aside from that, our other LG remotes are just as easy (if not easier) to use, but maybe that's only because we're already "trained" on them. That aside, this is an awesome TV with an incredible picture with an endless amount of apps and features. And compared to a 60" or larger screen, the price is more than reasonable for what's offered. Get one; you will NOT be disappointed!!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't get over how clear this picture is for this tv. Its almost like I'm watching through a window at my house.. Very easy to use as well. the remote can be a little tricky at times, but once you get it down it isn't that bad to use.

Above avg. resolution/ features for good price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV does not ship well. purchased two of these from an other online vendor and both shipped DOA. Bought third from Best buy for in store pick-up and no issues. Bought service plan also, just in case. TV features are great, love the remote and OS interface. Love the "no bezel" appearances, very sleek. Lacks component connectivity for devices requiring RCA connectivity and only 4 HDMIs but over all meets my needs. Bought around black Friday so ~$1300 wasn't bad price but did see cheaper elsewhere (online retailer in Maine)...as low as $1099 with free shipping but didn't want to chance another DOA with shipping; these are fragile apparently. Also learned to use smartTV apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime video through TV versus other devices like Playstation etc. so you can access 4K and 3D content. When logging into Netflix account on TV for example, Netflix will then identify that your TV can handle 4K and 3D video and will list as options in your account otherwise the 4K and 3D content will not be listed on Netflix etc. I liked the wall-mounted sound (virtual surround) quality considering they are just stock TV speakers. Over all, good TV and if purchased at the right price, is an exceptional value. Do I believe there are superior products out there...? Yes. However, this is a great, feature rich TV for the money so if you're in the market for an inexpensive, 4K, 120hz refresh, etc. TV, this one should be top of your list.

Fantastic 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love our new LG 4K 55" tv. The picture quality is absolutely outstanding and the audio through our soundbar makes the tv even more enjoyable. We enjoy streaming from Netflix and the picture quality is also outstanding. It is fun listening to music from YouTube via this tv. It is very easy to change from watching DirecTv to streaming to connecting to our DVD/VHS player, much easier than with our other tv which was five years old. It takes a little time to get used to the remote control as it is very sensitive to movement. We love LG products and are very happy with this new tv and all the viewing/listening options it gives us.

Amazing 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome 2D & 3D display! I believe I paid around the same price for this TV and the Samsung 50". Pros: Great Picture Quality, I found a site where I download instructions on how to tweak the TV. Typical TV applications: Netflix, FB, Skype, Hulu, etc.. Some free 3D Content from the LG Store. Con: UI could use a little work.

Outstanding quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this item discounted to me because of an error the staff made giving me a non 3DTV model the day before, and I have to say, this TV set is an AWESOME experience. I have every video game system you can imagine, from the old 8-bit Nintendo, to the Wii U, PS4 and XBox One hooked up to this thing. I also stream Netflix, Hulu and Playstation Vue's streaming service on this, and it's a wonder I ever leave my house. If you buy this set, make sure you go online, or learn how to calibrate this TV so it gets proper color and shadowing. Once you do that, you will be blown away at the quality of the 3-D performance, and the 1080P and Blu-Ray upscaling on this. Honestly, for the price and quality, I've become convinced no one can beat LG's products. I've owned several of them now. But it gets even better. You can actually speak into your remote to post on Facebook, or to search the web. It comes with several pre-installed apps, such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and more for quick access. Believe me, this is a quality, quality TV set. They are even now streaming some things in 4K on Netflix, and the picture quality is mind-blowing.

This is a great buy, Simply incredible! Love it!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is AMAZING! 420p all the way to 2160p. We love the smart apps and the USB player, it plays right off my external hard drive or flash drive and passive 3D too! WOW! The colors on this TV really are quite amazing everything is crisp and bright and no motion blur during fast action scenes. This TV is by far the best I ever owned. Watch out Samsung LG really has something here. I can't wait for more 4K content to come out and when it does we will be ready! You can't go wrong with this TV period.

Good value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got a great deal on this at $1299. Depth of colors and picture quality/clarity are outstanding. 3D is pretty realistic too. One improvement would be a better more sturdy stand. The fastening screws are small and short and have a tendency to strip easily. Not an issue if wall mounting but a definite drawback if you need the stand.

Q: Questioncan we hookup our computer to this tv?we have a 50" flat screen samsung that we use as a computer monitor. we can print etc. is there an input we can use for this purpose? your specs say no pc input. we have a wireless printer hooked up to our computer. can you print from the tv browser?
Asked by bparty.
- A:Answer Yes, I hooked up my PC directly from my video card (HDMI out to the HMDI input on TV to use as a monitor. They do make DVI to HDMI adapters though I'm not sure if there is any quality degradation with sound and/or video using an adapter to make the connection. I do have a fairly high end (custom built) gaming PC with high end video cards but as long as you have DVI or HDMI output from your PC video, you should be able to connect to an HDMI port on the TV. You can find the DVI/ VGA to HDMI adapters online or perhaps even your local Best Buy, Radio shack, etc. If you're just looking to use as a monitor then you can use your standard input (Keyboard and Mouse) to navigate your PC for printing etc. The TV is just acting as your monitor so once you find a way to connect to the TV, the TV should not be any different then if you were hooked up to a computer monitor. It may be more awkward using your PC on such a large "monitor" but if your TV room allows, it may be easier if you purchase a wireless mouse and keyboard to allow you to sit further back from the TV/ PC for viewing comfort. In regards to printing...again, your TV is just replacing your monitor so nothing changes in regards to using a mouse and keyboard. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionHow wide is the TV stand?Could you give me the width of the stand?
Asked by Drice.
- A:Answer The supports for the TV are 46 inches apart. I know this only too well, as my old stand was only 39 inches wide, and I had to buy a new TV stand. I would recommend a TV stand of at least 48 inch width.

Q: QuestionI this tv multi voltage and freq?Is this tv also for 230 volts 50 hertz? PAL? Usable in europe?
Asked by Toti.
- A:Answer Hello Toti. While the LG - 55" Class (54-5/8" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 3D - 4K Ultra HD TV - Black, Model # 55UB8500 is a dual voltage TV (AC 100 - 240 V) and dual frequency (50 / 60 Hz) unit like all other LG TVs, it has 3 tuners built in that will only work on the ATSC, NTSC-M, 64 & 256 QAM Television Systems and will not work with PAL broadcasts! If you have a Blu-ray Player, DVD player that plays region A or region 1 discs, you can plug the TV into a socket abroad with the appropriate socket adapter and watch the discs, but it will not receive PAL or MESCAM broadcasts nor will you be able to playback discs from any other region other than the aforementioned ones. If you had a unit that is multi regional or multi system, then you could adjust it to match your TV and do it that way. There are some converters available (though somewhat pricey) that could also provide an alternative...IFV
