Set in a fictional recreation of the Windy City, Watch_Dogs puts you in command of wronged hacker Aiden Pearce on a quest for vengeance. He is helped out greatly by his smart phone which can instantly hack the city's "ctOS" network that controls everything from traffic lights, facial recognition softwares, crime prevention tools and even car alarms. The story spirals from there into webs of the underground crime syndicate and political maneuvering around the city built around a more human-scale story of those Aiden loves most. The game looks incredible. Being a Chicago native it's fun to see that while the actual recreations of items are not particularly accurate (for copyright reasons mostly) the "feel" of the places and buildings is spot-on. Anyone who's spent time here will instantly recognize the Chicago of the game world. Aside from the visuals the game plays very well too- hacking is easy and incredibly fun (no pointless hacking mini-games), reading the npc's bios via your ctOS profiler is fascinating and hilarious, and driving is tight and unique to each vehicle. A lot of comparisons will be made to Grand Theft Auto for better and for worse- the textures and graphical lighting fidelity put GTA to shame, as do the driving and shooting mechanics. Rockstar is, well, a rockstar(!) when it comes to crafting larger than life characters and game worlds so the two games differ in terms of story themes and intentions. Watch_Dogs could be the darker and more sophisticated brother to GTA's younger, funnier and raunchier game.

If you love GTA V, you are going to love Watch Dogs! The story is interesting enough to hold your attention. Speaking of attention, if you are easily distracted by side missions and collectibles, then you will never finish this game! The is ALOT to do in Watch Dogs, which isn't a bad thing. Multiplayer is okay. The added twist of a random person (hacker), hacking your game is fun. And the excitement grows as you try and find the hacker and deal with them. Best part is, the hacker looks like a regular person and can hide in plain sight. Wish Ubisoft made it easier to team up with a group of friends to play various game types against others. Overall, it's a pretty good time. Lots to do, good storyline, and hacking. NOT A KIDS GAME! Enjoy!

I come from the battlefield franchise FPS and do not play games like this very often. However, watchdogs is amazing. The story line is great, the "during game play" environment changes makes it so realistic. Being able to play side missions with friends games using mobile app is pretty cool. The one thing I don't like, is that you cannot invade friends from console friends list as it seemed to be advertised in game clips "on line hacking". Overall with this being the 5th day after release and not knowing if Ubisoft plans on patching the game to allow such features, I would rate this game 8 of 10 and call it a nice change of pace from the battlefield..........
