MY Best Television Purchase EVER!!!
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I upgraded to this tv from my previous 2019 LG OLED tv which was in perfect working order, but I have the new Sonos Arc sound bar which isn't compatible in giving me the True ARC sound I wanted from the 2019 OLED. So I upgraded to this CX series which has the compatibility of the Sonos Arc and I wasn't disappointed! The TV is awesome as the previous but when I combined it with the soundbar....OMG!!!! I'll never go to another movie theater ever again.. why should I when I have one with surround sound right in my own living room. This is a great purchase!

Amazing Desktop Screen
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Using this TV as a desktop monitor. It replaced a high end 55" Samsung and what a difference. Once you get it dialed in for the PC the performance is amazing. I have a high end video card but it doesn't have enough bandwidth to feed this TV's HDMI 2.1 capability so now I can't wait for the latest PC video cards to purchase one so I can unleash the real power of this already amazing screen performance. Highly Recommended!

OLED Can't Be Beat!
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Coming from an 8-yr-old Samsung plasma, which was still working just fine. But the picture quality on this OLED TV is jaw-dropping. Been watching 4K HDR (high dynamic range) videos non-stop for a few days now -- incredible contrast, detail, color, and clarity. Black is really deep black. Also been noticing more fine shades of color with regular HD upscaled content too. Panel is so thin it's almost scary -- thinner than my cell phone. Tons of picture quality settings... be prepared to spend some time tweaking things to your liking. This LG TV supports 4K HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG-HDR, but not HDR10+. A small window momentarily indicates when it detects that format. Also has a built-in web browser, Google Assistant, and Alexa. Most of the common apps (Tablo, YouTube, Sling, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, Apple TV, etc.) are downloadable from the built-in LG Content store. Not too much need for my Roku box now. Remote control has a on-screen mouse pointer mode, which is somewhat useful but takes a while to get used to. (Don't have to use it if you prefer the 4-button navigation.) Many buttons on the remote have a 2nd function when long-pressed. Voice input is also on the remote.

Very nice Oled TV

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This TV is amazing. I've read tons of reviews and took some time before purchasing it. Coming from an 8-year-old television it is strikingly beautiful to look at. I've told pretty much everybody about it lol. We're highly recommend getting this model television if you are a gamer. Watch some football on it and the image quality was great. Movies look phenomenal as well.

Amazing OLED TV or computer monitor
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Pros mentioned:Color, Gaming, PictureThis is my first OLED TV and was a little worried about a few things going into this tech. However after a lot of research I decided to go with this one. It has features built in to really help against burn in, which I have heard can be a problem with OLED but not ever having one I can't confirm. There is a very nice screen saver built in, as well as pixel shift. Pros: The color black is just amazing on OLED. It really makes even older shows just pop and also stuff in 4:3 you get a black bar on the sides you almost forget the TV isn't widescreen. Games look amazing on this thing. I have tried a few consoles and a PC on it. Even the Switch looks fantastic on this thing. The audio speakers built in are not that bad. Usually I expect on most TV's these days to have some weak audio. But this came out really nice. There is an optical output as well so I could hook into my sound bar. Bluetooth headphones will also connect to the device, so if you want private viewing or don't want to wake or keep everyone up it is a nice option to have. Pretty smooth smart TV with the programs launching quickly, however not my favorite interface, but I could get used to it. The quick launch features are also helpful, common apps pop up with quick hit of the home button on the controller. The OSD is really quick to respond and has a lot of quick access features for sound and picture. Also the ability to quickly apply settings to all inputs saves a lot of time on things like reducing brightness across the board. (see picture) Was also pleased how easy was to label each input when I was setting the thing up Cons Not sure this is applicable to everyone but the LG remote seems to use the same connection as a LG monitor I have in the same room, so I have been using my phone as a remote for my TV instead of the remote it came with to turn it on and off. WebOS has not been my favorite Smart TV software. The app selection is okay but at the time of writing this HBO Max is still missing. However the quick pop up of apps listed by pressing the home key is pretty nice. Update: I saw some people say GSYNC didn't work for their PC. I was able to get my RTX 2070 super to work fine with it. However you need to have a updated HDMI cable. I purchased a 2.1 version and had no problems and it looked amazing.

Best of the industry
|Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Best on the market. Picture is incredible and makes all content really sing. Only gripe - I think my model had a manufacturing issue because the stand did not match up with the screw holes on the back of the TV. I tried for over an hour and had to basically leave one screw smashed in half-way. Still, no issues and the picture was unaffected.

Q: QuestionAre current LG OLED TVs less susceptible to screen burn-in than earlier models? I am replacing a 2016 model that developed burn-in of the CNN logo. I’d love to get a new OLED, but I’m afraid burn-in will reoccur. Would I be better off with a QLED set?
Asked by KYJim.
- A:Answer Hi KYJim. I have a 2015 LG OLED that my kids play games on and I watch a lot of CNN, MSNBC and Jim Cramer on and I don't have any hint of Image Retention or Burn-in on it. Burn-in and image retention are possible on virtually any display. It is rare for an average TV consumer to create an environment that could result in burn-in. Most cases of burn-in in televisions is a result of static images or on-screen elements displaying on the screen uninterrupted for many hours or days at a time – with brightness typically at peak levels. So, it is possible to create image retention in almost any display if one really tries hard enough. And even if image retention does occur from extreme usage, it can usually be mitigated within a short period of time by turning the display off for a while, and watching a few hours of varying content (such as your standard TV watching and channel-surfing). Additionally, the LG CX 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (54.6'' Diag), Model # OLED55CXPUA comes with special features and settings to preserve image quality and prevent burn in and image retention. First, under OLED Screen Saver there is the Pixel Refresher that calibrates any issues that may arise on the screen when your TV has been turned on for a long time. Calibration takes more than an hour. The second feature that can be employed is the Screen Shift feature which, moves the screen slightly at regular intervals to preserve image quality. A third option is the Logo Luminance Adjustment, which can detect static logos on the screen and reduce brightness to help decrease permanent image retention...^IFV

Q: QuestionIs it normal for the screen to have a bluish tint when the tv is off?
Asked by rao.
- A:Answer The slight purplish tint that you see on the LG CX 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (54.6'' Diag), Model # OLED55CXPUA is normal. That is the anti-reflective coating that is common in among high-end TVs...^IFV

Q: QuestionReflection, Glare and Brightness, Burn in. How concerned should I be about this? Samsung for 13 years zero issues with the TV. I am debating LG CX 55 or Samsung Q90t. I assume people watch their OLED during the day or morning right? I want to switch but..
Asked by jeff.
- A:Answer The LG CX 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (54.6'' Diag), Model # OLED55CXPUAuses emissive technology and doesn't have a backlight, which means that the pixels can turn off completely to produce perfect blacks. And since it doesn't rely on local dimming, there aren't any issues with blooming around bright objects or subtitles. It gets decently bright, enough for a moderately-lit room, and it handles reflections exceptionally well. Viewing angles are great, so the image doesn't degrade if you're seated off to the side. Burn-in and image retention are possible on virtually any display. However, with an LG OLED TV, any risk of burn-in or image retention have been addressed through the use of technology that not only helps protect against damage to the screen, but features self-healing properties so that any short-term image retention that may occur is quickly rectified. It is rare for an average TV consumer to create an environment that could result in burn-in. Most cases of burn-in in televisions is a result of static images or on-screen elements displaying on the screen uninterrupted for many hours or days at a time – with brightness typically at peak levels. Q: QuestionDoes this have a ATSC 3.0 receiver ( next gen) My market ( Baltimore) will have 3.0 available in July and I use an indoor antenna for OTA channels. I am starting to shop for a tv which can use that technology. Thanks..
Asked by Antennaboy.
- A:Answer The LG CX 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (54.6'' Diag), Model # OLED55CXPUA does not have a NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0) tuner. The six 2020 LG OLED models that have built-in hardware to support the NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0) tuner are: the 55-, 65- and 77-inch class GX Gallery Series 4K Ultra HD models, the 65-inch class WX Wallpaper 4K model and 77- and 88-inch class ZX Real 8K models. These models will receive a firmware update that is required to activate the tuner which will automatically be pushed out later this year. This will be a staged rollout and as you have mentioned, it will be rolled out when your market begins NEXTGEN services...^IFV
