Customers commend the 55" Class NanoCell 85 Series LED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV for its exceptional picture quality, describing it as amazing, crisp, and beautiful. Gamers appreciate its suitability for gaming, particularly on the PS5. The TV's easy setup and great price point are also praised. However, some customers express concerns about the backlight, edge-lit display, local dimming feature, and HDR performance.
Great TV, here's why. LG's 85 series Nanocell offers beautiful UHD Dolby Vision picture quality while streaming or gaming. I mean it's gorgeous. Sound quality with Dolby Atmos on Cinema mode provides a movie theater like atmosphere. While gaming on my PS4 Pro (sorry no PS5, but it's on my wish list) my 30fps looks better than it actually is. I've read a few reviews stating that some cons were the backlight and remote. I promise, that is a minimal annoyance if that. Also, a bonus feature is Art Gallery. This is a mode that displays masterpieces of art while playing piano music. Great for times when you want to relax here the piano and view artwork such as The Starry Night, etc on your big screen. Great buy for the price.

So this is honest review and I have no bias towards any brand. I’ve owned nothing but Samsung TV’s for for last 13 years. And I’ve been nothing but happy. This is my first LG TV and my first LG product in almost 5 years (cell phone). Personally I’m not a fan of LG but reading reviews I felt strong about there TV’s. First off I bought this TV because I just recently bought a PS5 and wanted to take advantage of the HDMI 2.1 and 4k. I’ll start by saying the picture using the PS5 is phenomenal. I have little to no complaints at all. The instant game mode runs amazing. The HDR paired with the PS5 is excellent and beautiful. The response time is also spot on. Now onto the 120hz feature. Very few games support 120hz 4k. And if they do support 120hz it’s locked to 1080p. So I’m unsure if the 2.1 is really worth it as of 3/27/2021 mostly because it’s seems niche in terms of you lose half your pixels to run at 120hz (120 FPS). (Catch 22 really). But as for normal 4k gaming, I don’t know that the picture could really be any better. It’s honestly that good! My one complaint about gaming is that I feel like the back light could be a bit brighter being as HDR seems to darken some images. Now onto your non gaming needs. One of the best selling points to this TV (and any LG) is the WebOS and the magic remote. The webOS is lighting fast and the magic remote works flawlessly. It’s adds a mouse like cursor to navigate the apps (Netflix, Disney+, Hulu ext.) that’s makes selecting your program a breeze. The 4k picture you get from using the built in Apps like Netflix I feel is unmatched and even better then using the PS5 or 4k Chromecast. One disadvantage of the WebOS is that HBO Max is not yet supported. Which stinks, but fortunately it has a screen share (Air Play) option which easily let me use my IPhone 11 Pro Max to stream my own videos, pictures or apps (HBO Max) at great high quality. My one and only real complaint is the same as others and that’s the light bleed. On movies with black bars because of aspect ratios, you definitely notice the light bleed through the blacks. Which is annoying as heck, but not a complete deal breaker. Some suggest changing settings to calm this, but unless it’s plugged in via HDMI, there’s no real option to change things like local dimming. With all that being said I feel like this LG85 is a excellent buy vs the price you’d pay for a true OLED TV. For 4k gaming it’s easily 5/5 stars for me. Onboard technology 5/5 Stars. Ease of use it’s 5/5 stars. Price 4/5 stars. Watching movies is the only downfall due to the bleed through its 3/5 stars. Making my overall opinion a 4/5 stars. Pictures show gaming, bleed through, magic remote, magic remote cursor.

Can't complain! Soo I went though the tcl serise 6 2020 which is cheaper; a qled, has a full array panel and it's local dimming is better. However, lgs nanocell is just a better and cleaner picture overall. Colors feel accurate, motion is better, gaming ready with lower input lag than the tcl, and HDMI 2.1 with freesync .. I mean it really depends what you prefer. You like alot of color and contrast? Then maybe Tcl serise 6 is for yoy. However I notice that it's way to over the top with certain colors that to me it loses its detail, but you get your big color gambit that for sure ... You want better motion, with gaming features, lg nanocell hands down! Don't listen to raitings or all these reviewers. You really got to see it and try it for yourself.
