Let movies and shows come alive in stunning 4K clarity with this 55-inch LG smart TV. Its OLED module offers a bright, seamless picture, and it's Dolby Atmos capable for superior audio surround sound. This LG smart TV has four HDMI inputs for convenient connection of external A/V devices.
Q: Is there any difference between the 2016 model and the 2017 model?
A: A few differences, mainly to the good. First, the overall brightness capacity is increased over the 2016 models by about 25%. Also, the ABL, (automatic brightness limiter), is far less aggressive on the 2017 model, and if you set the 'Oled Light" setting below 35 it is virtually a non factor at all. There are no 'Component In' inputs on the 2017 C7 or E7 though I believe there were on their 2016 counterparts. Go to the RTings.com website and pull up the LG C7 Oled review page. There's great info there on the TV, (C7, E7), and in-depth guidance re settings, etc. I got the E7 because I preferred the front firing speakers, (hearing issues), but both the E7 and C7 have the same screen and software, etc. This is one fantastic television, now connected to a 4K 11.2 channel Denon AVR and an Oppo 4K Blu Ray player.
A: Picture on glass refers to the cover on the panel. it will be glass, as opposed to plastic or whatever material manufacturers use. oled by definition has no backlighting, each individual pixel is it's own light source
Q: What is OLED degradation time?
A: Apporoximately 100,000 hrs
Q: Is the speaker grill and stand made of plastic or metal.
A: Grill is plastic / stand is metal
Q: Is there motion blurr in scenes with rapid motion like NBA and NFL live games? Thanks - John
A: The LG E7P has a nearly perfect response time, resulting in almost no visible blur following moving objects, which is excellent when watching fast-paced content. ^CP
Q: does LG offer directv ready?
A: You need a contract with Directv and then with a HDMI cable to connect it from D* to a HDMI slot on TV. Easy pezee.
Q: What are the refresh rates this TV can handle?
A: The LG E7 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55E7P has a native 120 Hertz panel which is able to interpolate lower frame rate content, (24, 30, and 60 fps video) up to a higher frame rate when TruMotion is set to "On"...^IFV
Q: Does anyone have insights on how the Nintendo Switch might work with this?
A: The Nintendo Switch should have no problem connecting to this TV. ^CP
