    Gas leak from factory

    Posted
    gasleaks

My wife and I purchased this range because we liked the features and design. The significant issue was after hook up we smelled gas coming from the upper louvers on the back cover. All installation fittings had been checked and were sealed without leaks. Checking further revealed a loose connection from the factory. After tightening that connection 1 full turn the leak stopped. The burner grate had a piece of the cast iron broken off and the piece wasn't in the factory sealed bag indicating it was broken before being packaged. The one review at the time of this range on BestBuy web site indicated someone was delivered two of these ranges both of which had gas leaks. Talking to an LG customer exec these incidents don't show a trend and therefore there are no quality issues. It took 9 weeks to get the grate replaced although they originally indicated a week to ten days. I was told I should have been able to figure out on my own it was back ordered. Amazing. BestBuy Pacific Sales have been great to deal with and helpful other than not posting my first attempt to review this

It took some time getting the stove connected - delivery guys were 45 min late then really didn't want to connect up the stove & didn't. Had to reschedule the connection & the 2nd guys (think from Best Buy) did a great job. Stove worked well & cooked well even the middle burner. Previous reviews complained about the middle burner but it worked fine. Cooked a grill cheese & french toast without any problems. Cooked a big turkey & ham - no problem. The problem was the oven light. It went out before I baked on day 3. I tried to replace it but couldn't get the glass cover off. Decided if the light went out the 1st week - I'd probably be faced with electrical problems. Waited all day for the LG repair guys scheduled appointment time (8-noon time frame) & they NEVER showed up. I called 3 times & was told the repairman would call within 30 min. NEVER receive a call back from anyone. The last time I called I was on hold for 5 min while they were "checking" on the situation. I hung up. Returned the stove. If you don't have any problems it would probably be a good stove but beware of LG repair group. More like NO service. Buyer beware...

We loved the look of this stove with the light, bright blue interior and the thought of having a convect bake oven as well. The display works great. The stove also works well, but the 30 inch range does not allow enough room to use more than two pots at the same time. The middle burner is relatively useless, except for pancakes- buy another griddle-not the one that comes with it. We returned this stove because the new heating design in the back burns food. Anything facing the back of the oven burns. Service tech said there is no fix for it and that all LG appliances with this feature need to be babysat and food turned frequently. Who has time for that? How about fix the design flaw? The LG rep said they would not purchase one, nor would the repair man. Neither will we...on to the next one.

I purchased this range a little more than 5 months ago and I am greatly regretting it! If you have the front burners on and the convection oven on, when you open and close the oven door, it causes the burners to go out when on medium-low. Then gas is allowed to escape until you relize the burner is out. When I called LG, the response was its a design flaw.... a potentially destructive and deadly flaw if unnoticed. They didn't want to send someone out to look at it untill I insisted. I'm still in the process of resolving this issue. I just want you all to be aware of this issue before purchasing this range.

We had been shopping around and reading reviews about gas ovens. When we went into our local Best Buy and saw the LG Stainless Steel gas oven at a great price we couldn't pass it up. The oven is everything that I had hoped it would be. All of the burners work great, whether you just want to simmer or cook on high. Also, the oven bakes everything very evenly. I highly recommend this oven to everyone.

It took almost three weeks to get and when you cook often on a daily basis it was nerve racking waiting but in the end the range has performed floorlessly. The 6.5 ft stove with three shelf convection is owsome. Cooking time is about the same without convection. It also has a warming draw that is very helpful with keeping multiple items warm for meal time. The cooktop with five burners provides generous room for pots and pans. The griddle is great option. Easy to clean

We had been looking up upgrade our stove for some time, and actually saw this while at a Best Buy picking up a quiet fan. Love the look, love the functionality. The installers did a FANTASTIC job working within the ultra tight confines of the kitchen in our 200 yr old house. Really upgrades the overall look. Still working on the best way to utilize the 5th burner middle grill area. Highly recommend. Sales person was excellent in his product knowledge.

I used an electric range for years. When ours died I really wanted to get a gas range. I did my research on them and found that the LG gas ranges where highly recommended. Best Buy had the best price and where able to get the range delivered right away. Thanksgiving was a week away and I had the range for Thanksgiving which was perfect since I was the one making the pies. The stove is perfect and easy to use. The oven is spot on. Bakes everything perfectly. Very happy with my purchase
