Bad picture out-of-box; Poor Customer Service
||Posted .I purchased this TV on Black Friday. The Free Delivery perk was a nice touch and scheduling the date and time online was very simple. Once the TV was delivered, however, is another story. Brand new out of the box there were large, white splotches present in the picture due to something wrong with the screen. Research showed that sometimes this happened with LED TVs and that it could be a contrast setting and/or sometimes the new TV needed to "burn in" for a week. Setting the contrast did not help and after a week of watching the TV the splotches gradually grew larger and got worse. I called Geek Squad to come out and look at it. Their agent came out a few days later after going to an address I lived at ten years ago, although they can bill me and deliver a TV to my present address. The agent stated that the white splotches were abnormal and never should have been present and that since the TV was still new, to exchange it. Otherwise, he'd have to replace the entire screen. I went to my local store where they set up an exchange and a delivery date after hassling me about not bringing the 65" TV with me. Their delivery, unlike the two hour window prior, was a 7am to 7pm window. The day came and went, and no one showed up with my replacement TV. This was a Tuesday. At 7pm, we called the store and the phone rang and rang. We tried three times and got a ringing phone, although the store closed at 10pm. We ended up calling the 1-800-BEST-BUY line and were met with several incompetent people that bounced us around until we landed with a "Manager". This person also tried to call the store, meeting the same results with a phone that was never answered. At this point he said he noted our situation and would call us back no-later-than 330pm the next day and would take care of this, plus give us free installation as well for the trouble. He did mention the reason why our TV wasn't delivered. The store had created a delivery, but didn't close it out in the system. It was never scheduled. 430pm the next day rolled around and no one had called us. We called again and spoke to several people. Why? Disconnects. The first person we spoke to gave us to a supervisor. The supervisor answered, said "hello" a few times like he couldn't hear us, and hung up. We called a second time and made it to another supervisor. This person was very cordial and stated: "No one up to this point, including the store, had made any notes in our account about any of this". Nothing. He also stated that he was the wrong department for setting up the exchange and delivery, and would notate the free installation as well. When he transferred us to that department. Disconnected. We called back again and spoke to another supervisor, this time asking for the correct department first. Again, no notes about our account so this ALL HAD TO BE EXPLAINED AGAIN! This person actually created a case# for us, but still was unable to reach the store, and said..... We appreciate your patience, but there's nothing we can do over the phone, this has to be handled by the store directly. Please go there to make arrangements to exchange your TV. Yes, really. She said she noted that they owed us a free installation for our issues and the fact our previous installation appointment (not via Best Buy) was missed due to no delivery, and to give them the case# when we spoke to them in-store. We ended up going to the store and spoke with four different people regarding our situation. This time, they supposedly have the delivery date closed out and generated, again through some 7am-7pm window. Also, they spoke with 1-800-BEST-BUY about the issues, discussed the claim #, and decided that we would NOT receive the promised free installation, it was too cost prohibitive for the store. Instead, they apologized and handed us a $50 gift card. To date, my TV still hasn't been delivered and the original one still has these huge, white splotches in the picture. At least they seemed to have stopped growing.

Almost Awesome
||Posted .I needed a large TV for the living room to replace an old 50" DLP that was showing the black and white dots effect. I didn't need a smart TV, though that would have been nice. My focus was on a 120Hz or faster 65" TV from LG or Samsung. This LG went on sale, so I checked it out. Great picture and the sound is acceptable for now which was one of my worries with these thin TV's almost always in need of a sound bar or other sound option. I was quite pleased with the sound quality and picture quality. There is the occasional motion blur with something fast moving on a busy image meaning lots of colors and complexity in the frame at that moment. I notice it mostly in people's hand movements. When the screen goes to black, there are some lighter than black areas evident and when it goes to a very bright scene, there are some "hot" areas. Overall however, I am quite pleased with this purchase and would happily buy LG again. This is actually my third LG TV with the previous two being a 19" in the office and a 24" hybrid computer monitor/TV in the office as well. If I could give this 4.8 out of 5 stars, I would...at the price point of $799, it's almost perfect and great bang for the buck. Looks great mounted to the wall with a low profile mount.

Great TV/Picture for the Price
Posted .First, let me deal with other comments I have seen: “Terrible picture on non-HD. Worse than on a non-HD TV.” This is a “Well duh!” situation. This is true of ALL HD TVs. I only currently own four and with every one, this is true. “The Sound is Awful.” Are you telling me you paid for a 65” TV and did not at least purchase a sound-bar with it? Most HD TVs have terrible sound. That is because when you get to this class/size of TV the sound is at best a throw-in. I have not listened to sound from a TV since the last millennium. Any time you are in a hotel you can tell the sound from a TV is pretty awful. “Back light issues.” I don't know what you are seeing as I have no evidence of that even on black screens. “Fast motion is a problem.” I have seen this but rarely. I did not buy it to play games on it bur rather to watch some TV and sports. For those two purposes, it seems fine. “Does not have an optical audio out for my . . .” Kanex makes a device just for such situations. I believe I paid just under $50 delivered. Unfortunately Best Buy does not have them. Google “Kanex Pro HDMI Audio De-Embedder” and you will find them. This device goes in-line on your HDMI going to the TV and has both optical and coax S/PDIF. Works great. I have to use mine to drive a wireless device that transmits to my Mother-in-law's hearing aid. As far as picture, I can't believe it looks this good. The LED back lighting really seems to help on this TV more than others I have seen. The size is great yet effectively takes up just the size of the screen. We are using ours with the included legs which are incredibly sturdy and stable. It has three HDMI inputs where I am using just one as I feed everything through a Home Theater Receiver with four ports. I have no idea about the sound from the TV as I have never turned it on and can safely say I never will. I never heard the sound on the 13 YO HDTV it replaced so it looks like I will never will hear it.

Best Bang For Your Buck!
Posted .I bought this TV for my bedroom a week ago. I wanted a 70" or 80" but the couldn't justify the price gap just yet. It will be used for PlayStation 4 and Netflix only. The screen quality is extremely nice for a 120Hz 1080P. The sound is surprisingly better than expected. It could easily be confused with my Samsung sound bar #Minus the subwoofer#. I had Best Buy deliver the TV and they put it together and placed it on my dresser for me. It has no dead pixels and no LED bursts coming from any corner or edge, so I can't complain there. Overall satisfaction with what I paid and what I expected is a 5-out-of-5!

Good size for price
||Posted .I went out looking for a TV for my living room. Determined to buy a large screen TV for the living room but the price had to be just right. I went to a few places before finally arriving at best buy in order to get an idea how much TVs were going for ($$ price / sq inch / quality of picture & easy to use aka "the remote"). & I found it at Best Buy. I still believe that some purchases should be done at a physical store with an actual sales service representative.

Great picture, bad light bleed and viewing angle
Posted .I agonized over whether to keep this TV. The picture looks great when you sit directly in front of the screen and you don't look at screens with solid colors. However, if you move off center even slightly, the screen loses its vibrancy and the colors become dull. Also, the edge lighting results in flashlighting and light bleed on the edges, particularly when the edges of the screen are dark (but something in the center is not - see the first image below). Finally, there was a semicircle of discoloration on the right half of the screen that was most noticeable when viewing a solid color or from the left side of the screen, of which I attached another screenshot. This was particularly distracting when playing first-person video games, as moving the camera would make the screen discoloration more obvious. There are other smaller things I don't like about this TV either, such as its lack on INlink HDMI control (to control other devices with the remote) and the annoying way that the TV menu would take longer to respond the longer you left the TV on. I was excited to use the TruMotion to provide motion smoothing, but it occasionally had some bad artifacts, especially in cartoons and at scene transitions during movies. Ultimately I ended up finding another 65" TV for the same price that I am MUCH happier with: the Insignia NS-65D550NA15. That TV suffers from none of the problems I listed on this LG, and the picture looks just as good.

Awesome TV for an Amazing Price!
Posted .I wanted a larger tv for my home theater. I had a 55" Sony and was looking to upgrade to a 65" or 70" TV. I was looking for awhile, but I couldn't help but notice this LG advertised and how low the price was. I was skeptical and how good a $800 large TV could be, but I took a chance and it paid off. This tv is fantastic. Out of the box, the picture wasn't perfect, but after calibrating it with one of my blu-ray set up discs, the picture is perfect. I do recommend turning off the RealCinema and TruMotion options as they created a stutter to quick moving action. The TruMotion option makes the picture look too digitally crisp as I found turning the feature off felt like you was watching a film and not a digital reproduction. Computer animated movies like Big Hero 6 and How to Train Your Dragon 2 look absolutely glorious. And live action movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Pacific Rim look like you're watching it in the theaters. Video games also looked great on my Xbox 360 as my kids and I played a lot of Skylanders this past weekend. I cannot highly recommend this TV enough. Don't be fooled by the price because it performs like higher end TV's hundreds of dollars more. Also don't let an employee talk you out of this TV like I had. I had a smart salesman just try to push 4K on me and did nothing but bad mouth the model and say it was just the leftovers from the Black Friday sales. I took my recommendations from fellow customers that wrote reviews on here and I'm glad I listened to fellow customers rather than a salesman just trying to upsell me.

Good TV
||Posted .This is a great deal. 65inch for $799 and it shows a great picture. I purchased a chromecast and use my Samsung Galaxy tab 4 8.0 and made it into a smart tv. It only has 3 HDMI so I connected the ps3 to tte optical cable.

Q: QuestionQuestion about mount wallIs it possible to mount this LG model on the wall or only stand?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes it is wall mountable, VESA 400x400 The TV includes two huge spacers to evenly install the arms to the back of the panel. I had to purchase different M6 screws from lowes to fit. M6 x 30mm worked just fine for the top, and I used M6 x 25mm for the bottom.

Q: Questionhdmi cable recommended speedgood evening, I recently purchased this product and read in a review from a customer that a 28 gbps hdmi cable is recommended. I currently have a 5 gbps hdmi cable. please advise if I need to purchase a faster hdmi cable and if so to what speed rating? I have a sony 5.1 receiver with hdmi cables connected to a blue ray player, wii u, dish, and an xbox 360. thank you
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Honestly any HDMI 1.4 cable is sufficient, cable manufacturers have tried to dupe the public for YEARS. Independent testing has shown that a $5 Dollar Store cable moves the same HD content at the same speed as a $100 'Premium' cable.

Q: QuestionConnecting to existing speaker systemI am thinking about purchasing this TV for my basement living room. It appears as the TV does not have an audio output other than a headphone output. If I were to buy a 3.5mm to RCA cable, could I hook this up to an existing speaker system? Would that work?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can connect a 3.5mm to RCA cable (Mini-stereo to RCA) into the headphone output of the LG - 65" Class (64-1/2" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - HDTV, Model # 65LB5200 to the AUX inputs of a receiver that your speakers are connected to. I am a little unclear about what type of speaker system you have, but if has provision for inputting the audio through RCS inputs then it will work. The only concern will be the quality of the signal. Remember that the output voltage through the 3.5mm jack is designed for headphones which is a much lower output than that of an RCA output or Auxiliary Output. If you're going through a receiver then that should be okay because you can amplify the signal. Again, without knowing exactly what speaker system you have, some have built-in amplifiers and some don't. This TV also has a Digital Coaxial Output on it which looks like an RCA output and is color coded orange which will also give you digital audio!...IFV

Q: QuestionWhich soundbar is actually compatible with this TV?!?So after returning 2 soundbars and adapters, I cannot find a soundbar that is actually directly compatible with this tv without using some kind of adapter. What is the actual recommended best buy sold, soundbar that WILL work with this tv at a reasonable price ($200-350) price range? Preferably an LG sound bar as well. Any soundbar that is directly compatible with this tv would be helpful! Thanks!
Asked by Rob.
- A:Answer There are two ways you can get where you want to go. One is find a sound-bar system that has HDMI input(s) and output. The other is to find one that takes S/PDIF in either optical or coax. For the second option, you will need a device made by Kanex that Best Buy does not sell. Google "Kanex Pro HDMI Audio De-Embedder." I got mine for $50.
