OLED is the New Standard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking at this tv for nearly a year before I purchased it, and I couldn't be happier. This tv is not artificially bright like LED tv's, but is plenty bright with incredible black levels and vibrant colors. The sound is more than adequate, but I have this tv hooked up to a Yamaha receiver and a full set of Klipsch speakers that provide movie theater quality sound. This tv looks great in my game room, and everyone who comes over is in awe of the picture quality. This OLED technology is very plasma like, with no observed motion blur while watching football, hockey, or basketball (we aren't in baseball season yet, but I do not see this tv having any issues providing a quality picture in this sport either). This tv replaced a Samsung 4K Curved tv, and the diffrerence is incredible..... This tv is a game changer. This is a high end tv with a matching price point, but for those videophiles who are looking for the very best picture, look no further. The 4K upscaling makes the 1080i cable signal currently being broadcast to a near 4K viewing experience. I can honestly say that I have never seen a more amazing picture from any other tv that I've ever seen. Long story short, the specs on this tv are incredible, contrast is unmatched, accurate colors, deepest black possible, and the absolute sharpest picture produced today. Some of the negative reviews I've read appear to be cable/satellite provider issues, this tv will provide you with the amazing picture quality you see at the store. If I could give it higher than a 5..... I would, this tv is the real deal. If your considering this tv.....why wait? Don't hesitate to buy this tv, you will not be disappointed!! I am extremely happy with this tv, and would buy it again...... Definitely more than I can say about the Samsung 4K Curved tv it replaced

Great tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is absolutely awesome on these oled tv's. Web OS seems a little slow but it is never unresponsive. All the apps are nice but I wish there were more. (I.e. Hbo go). I use netfix, hulu, YouTube, and vudu All the time. Blurays and streaming content all look good on this tv. I have my Xbox And Apple TV hooked up to it. Ihave played video games on this tv And have not had Any issues with lag. Maybe it is only something competitive gamers would notice. FIFA, racing games, and shooters all worked fine for me. The 3D works well although I have not used it that much because my wife doesn't care for it. It can even convert regular programming to 3D. I use cinema mode for almost everything but there are other modes like game, sport, vivid, energy saving and 2 pro calibration modes that you can tweak or have someone calibrate for you. The 3 hdmi ports are enough for what I use it 4 and the one built into the Xbox provides me with an extra hdmi. Sometimes the volume feels too low but I am not sure if it is the program or the tv. The magic remote is pretty cool and provides for quick and accurate selection. I was able to get this tv about 1500 dollars cheaper because they did a price match to an online competitor. When Best Buy had a special the following week for a free wall mount and $300 gift card Best Buy honored their sale and gave us that as well. I thought it was only a tilting mount but it also extends about 8 inches. The box it comes in is quite large and requires 2 people to move it. I would not recommend anyone trying to move this by themselves. I had to put down all the seats in my suv for it to fit(Honda pilot) it did not fit standing. Thankfully it is a little more forgiving than a plasma so it can be layed flat for short trips. The tv itself is extremely thin, less than the width of my index finger. If your tv seems a little dark make sure it didn't change itself to energy saver mode, it did that to me a few times. If you are going to buy a uhd bluray player (not an upscaling bluray player) look into the Xbox one s . For 299 you get a uhd bluray player and an 500GB Xbox compared to samsungs uhd bluray player which costs 399 and is only a uhd bluray player. For 399 you can also get the 2TB Xbox one s. And Xbox has a lot of the apps that are missing from this system. That last part is just a recommendation of you want to watch stuff in true 4K and not just upscaled 1080p. And the difference between uhd(4K) and 1080p(HD) is remarkable. The one thing I do not like about the apps is that a lot of them will just Say had instead of 4K even though it is in 4K Making 4K content hard to find. Look online for lists of streaming 4K. This oled tech is awesome if you have been holding onto your plasma because LEDs and lcds picture quality could not compare. More manufacturers need to use oled. Hope this review helps!

Great TV - Terrible Execution
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to love this tv, but because of quality control issues I just couldn't. Let me start off by saying that the picture on this tv is simply astonishing... most of the time. I went through 2 tvs and both had similar issues in 2 different scenarios. 1) When the picture is really dark but not black, pixels close to the edges would just decide to stay black as opposed to the gray that it should've been. This is very noticeable when watching the first episode of "How to Get Away With Murder". However, I was willing to live with this issue because it wasn't noticeable until you looked for it. 2) The much bigger issue is the lack of a uniform white screen. If you put an entirely white screen on your tv, the tv should be completely white. It should not have streaks of light blue and in worse cases yellow. Both of my tvs had 2 blue bands and my second tv had yellow down the middle. Ultimately the problem is that this issue starts to leak into other screens when the screen is trying to show a uniform picture. For example, when watching football and the screen is filled up with the field, I could very obviously notice that parts of the field were a bit bluer where the blue bands appeared on the white screen. For the amount of money that I was paying, I expected more from this tv. I decided to switch to a cheaper but still very nice LED tv. My new LED tv makes me miss this OLED tv... a lot. But the issues were just too big for me and I wasn't happy with the purchase. I definitely had to settle for a worse tv where I can't really notice any issues aside from blacks not being completely black.

Best TV available
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own two LG 4K tv's and this Oled 65" blows the other two out of the water. The screen is literally a picture on glass and the blacks and colors are flawless. I have had the Oled for a couple of months now, and I am extremely satisfied. Even regular tv is enhanced to almost blue ray quality. I would recommend to anyone that can afford to part with the money. Handing over 5K for a 4K tv was hard to swallow. No regrets.

Q: QuestionHDR Capable yetDo you know if this EF9500 will support HDR via a software upgrade I have been reading about ? Thanks Very Much ...
Asked by Need_HDTV_badly.
- A:Answer In addition to its flat configuration, another notable distinction of the EF9500 series is that it is the world’s first HDR-capable OLED TV, allowing consumers to display HDR content from both streaming content partners and external source devices. LG’s EG9600 Curved OLED 4K TV series soon will receive a firmware update that enables consumers to stream HDR content from current and future streaming content providers...^IFV

Q: QuestionWhat is the refresh rate?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer 24 (Cinema), 30 and maybe 60. You are probably expecting something like 240 or 300, but that is really spec that is for LCD TVs. (with or without LED backlights). This TV is direct view like the plasmas were and don't require extra frames to smooth the motion. LCDs have crystals that flip to expose more or less of the LED or CFL backlight to pass through. As the Crystals of the LCD don't flip instantly that blurs motion. The extra frames are meant to compensate for that. The OLEDs respond in microseconds rather than milliseconds so don't need extra frames to cover this up. Also, the OLED pixels turn all the way OFF, so you get true blacks. Good for seeing details in the shadows, which would otherwise just look dark grey with no detail. The blacks are even blacker than plasmas, as the plasma pixels had to be on a tiny bit in order to respond faster.

Q: QuestionFree bonus itemWhat do you mean by free bonus item with LG 42" and LG wall mount? Do we get a LG tv and wall mount for free when we bought the OLED 2160 Smart tv
Asked by Michelle.
- A:Answer For a few weeks, Best Buy was offering a free 49:" LG model UF6400 4K tv with the purchase of the 65" OLED tv (either flat or curved). When we purchased in early October, the deal was just the free tv included. A couple weeks later, it also came with a free wall mount for the tv. The free tv sells at BB for about $699 and the LG wall mount is about $100

Q: QuestionWill this TV mount to a tv stand?I noticed that the tv has a special wall mount, so I was wondering if it's possible to mount it to one of the tv stands that allows the tv to float higher. Such as http://www.bestbuy.com/site/whalen-furniture-3-in-1-console-for-most-flat-panel-tvs-up-to-65-brown-cherry/8482006.p?id=1219339618920&skuId=8482006.
Asked by SouthernIntelct.
- A:Answer The TV can be mounted, but there is a special frame that must be used for this TV because it is so thin. The sales person at Best Buy asked us if we were planning to mount our TV and recommended a particular frame if we were going to do that. I do not know the model number of the frame.

Q: QuestionHow long will the $4,999 and free tv promotion go on to?Through 12/31/15?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Apparently it won't continue thru the end of the year as the TV is not coming with the FREE LG 49" as a bonus any longer and the 65" LG OLED has increased this week from $4,997 to $5,999. Can't believe they went up $1,000 in price. Oh well, glad I have mine already
