SO happy with this 4K TV!!!
|Posted .Let me start off by saying that I spent weeks researching which TV I wanted to purchase that was affordable, yet had an outstanding viewing experience and great features. This obviously isn't an OLED TV, but man, this TV does not fall far behind. I think this TV is absolutely outstanding and I am so happy with my purchase. I was fortunate enough to buy this 65" 4K TV while it was on sale, & I am not disappointed with it at all. I was having issues at first with the brightness on the screen because it was so dim and was hard to see, but I figured out that there was an energy saving setting turned on and once I turned it off, it was incredible. It was so much more beautiful, defined, and brighter. I was contemplating on returning the TV if there wasn't anyway for me to change the low brightness and dim lighting, but now that I turned off that setting, this TV isn't going anywhere! I am beyond pleased with the graphics, quality, & even the sound. I think it has fantastic speakers for just a TV alone. This is my first SmartTV so I don't have anything to compare it with, but I absolutely love the webOS software. It is very versatile & is very fun to play around with. I like that I can go from being on the internet, to watching Hulu, to watching DIRECTV straight from my TV, without having to connect an external device. It is so easy to navigate. I also love the magic remote that it comes with. Overall, I am in love with my new TV & it is superb for the price. If you are looking for an affordable TV with amazing graphics & a lot of features, this is the TV for you. I am extremely picky & it was so frustrating to find the right TV to please my expectations, but I am so thankful I chose this one. ☻

This is why you should buy this TV
|Posted .- The magic remote works kind of like a laser pointer, you can point it at your TV and waive it around like a Wii remote and a little cursor will appear for you to click on things, it's awesome! - The smart tv interface is very nicely designed and easy to use. - Of course the picture (4K HDR) looks great. Also I chose this tv bc it has a tiny bezel. The buttons are hidden on the bottom under the logo. - the sound on this tv is excellent. We got a $500 JBL Cinema 450 soundbar and we still will switch sound between our tv and the soundbar based on what we're watching bc the TV's sound is so good. - It has 4 HDMI ports and one of them has ARC for the soundbar. Cons: I really can't think of any cons off the top of my head. I've owned this TV for a few weeks now.

Returned it - not black, bands
|Posted .I do not recommend this specific model--I returned it and picked up the Sony 850e series. The LG j7700 was an incredible deal, but the blacks were dark blue, it had odd banding (4 separate colors of "blue/black" on a black screen), and had a general washed out look. SOOO disappointed. But the Sony 850e was the opposite (even though more expensive--I didn't pay "enough" the first time, The Sony was what I expected--the LG was not). And I have an existing LG 55" upstairs--but the LG j7700 was not like this. I do not recommend.

Local dimming was a deal breaker for me!!!
|Posted .This LG TV seemed like it would be a great product, except the local dimming turns off whole vertical rows during dimming. If you watch anything with horizontal black bars, they will be different shades of black/gray and are very distracting. Reddit suggests turning local dimming off. I took mine back. One picture is local dimming on the other is off, notice the changes in gray vertically. It's worse in person.

Do Not Buy
|Posted .Purchased the TV when on sale hoping that it would be a decent mid level television. After using the TV there was noticeable issues with the local dimming feature as well as the tones of the blacks on the screen. The T.V. showed decent color and brightness as long as you were not watching anything even a little dark or anything that has borders on it like some movies. After a few hours of use I noticed the T.V. was getting really hot on the entire bottom of the television and the screen was starting to show grey in spots on the black screen as if light spots were showing all over it. Also when turning the T.V. on only about 2/3 of the screen was black and the rest was grey.

Q: QuestionWe just had our tv installed. It appears dark and not as bright as in the store. The installer adjusted the brightness. ???
Asked by Lynnie.
- A:Answer There are Many settings, within the settings, so you can play around with many different settings, but to answer your question on BRIGHTNESS vs. DARKNESS, you must first TURN OFF the (Energy Saving) mode, this takes down the brightness to save energy, to get to this (click) on ALL SETTINGS, then on PICTURE, over to the right of PICTURE you will see a list of settings, look for ENERGY SAVING in the list and turn it OFF it is set to ON by default. You also need to go into PICTURE MODE and change from APS (Auto Power Save), to STANDARD or you can use VIVID or the other choices, choose what you like best, Personally I think STANDARD works the best for all coloring & brightness, but its your choice, just don't use the APS (Auto Power Save), which is the default of the tv also, because again it is an energy saving mode. Once you do these two steps, you will be able to set your colors, tint & brightness, sharpeness, etc. to your liking, there are also many, many other picture settings, within each setting, you just have to click on each one to see what it does. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionHow wide is the bezel? is it same top/bottom/left&right ?? I need some tv's with thin bezels so i can place 4 tv's in a 2x2 pattern and use it as one large display. thanks in advance.
Asked by gary2020.
- A:Answer The bezel PLUS the frame around the side totals 9/16 inches on each side. The bottom also has a small remote sensor/manual button array that adds another 3/16 inches. Total gap between the left/right screens would be 1 and 1/8 inches. Top to bottom 1 and 5/16 inches.

Q: QuestionIs this particular tv wall mountable? There is an existing tv mounted but it is a 42 inch tv
Asked by suzyq.
- A:Answer Yes, but you would need to know if your current wall mount is capable of the weight of this TV and whether or not the mounting holes on your wall mount expand to the size of this TV. My guess would be yes to both but you would need to know the specs of your current wall mount and look at the weight capability.
