I love this LG dryer

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to upgrade to a larger front load dryer that could hold a comforter and this one fit the bill. It is super quiet and it dries anything up within a reasonable time the first time around. It looks great and it's simple to use with plenty of cycle options. Do be mindful of the dimensions of where you are placing this big dryer at. Mine barely fit in my laundry room space, and I had to move it away from the door frame in order to avoid hitting it with the garage exit door due to the depth of it. I gambled with my measurements and luckily I got away with it (barely though). If you have less than 32" of depth from the wall to the front of the door frame, it will not fit. I had this for just over three weeks and I will update my experience after a year. LG products have proven reliable for me for many years, so I expect the same with this item.

Still learning how to work the different cycles and times. When you do get the washer, before the people leave MAKE SURE IT IS LEVELED or you will hear unusual noises from the machine.

I love how quiet they are compared to my prior Maytag elite machines, granted they were 20 yrs old. I went from a gas dryer to electric and surprisingly it didn’t cause an increase in my electrical bill that I’ve been able to notice.

We have a day spa and the capacity, quietness, sheer Work horse ability of these machines has cut our laundry load by at least 1/3. Quiet operation. The sensor dry keeps it from working longer than it has too. Also i notice my laundry room doesnt get hot anymore when running dryer.

- A:Answer Hi Overthehill, The dryer does not get plumbed into the water line. The drawer on the front is a water container for the steam and you do have to fill it manually. It’s not an inconvenience from personal experience, I only use the steam when I don’t feel like ironing something from the closet.

- A:Answer The LG 9.0 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Steam in White Model # DLGX8001W does not require a water hookup for the steam. It has a Steam Feeder that has to be manually filled with just cold water up to the MAX line. You cannot use distilled water as that prevents the water level sensor in the steam generator from functioning. The water used cannot exceed 86°F/30°C. ^CP

- A:Answer No Doubt! Huge dryer leaving comforter opened up and dry versus waded up and wet, which always required more dry cycles. Not the case with this efficient big boy!

- A:Answer When I ordered this dryer the power cord was automatically added to the cart as mandatory by Best Buy. However, it adds a 4 prong cord by default. Last week when they called to deliver, they asked me if I had a 3 prong or a 4 prong connection (there is no standard). I looked and I had a 3 prong. They have both when they come so it didn't matter, as they are the same price. If you are buying in the store directly, just state which one you need.

- A:Answer Hi DrParker. The recommended installation clearance spacing for the LG 9.0 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Electric Dryer with Steam - Graphite Steel, Model # DLEX8100V is 1 inch for the sides and 5" for the rear. The dryer has been tested for spacing of 1inch clearance on the sides and rear. Recommended spacing should be considered for ease of installation, for wall, door and floor moldings (2.54cm) and to reduce noise transfer. There should be at least a little space around the dryer (or any other appliance) to eliminate the transfer of vibration from one to the other. Too much vibration could cause them to make noise or bump each other causing paint damage and making even more noise...^IFV
