A: We have this refrigerator and love it!! The clearance in the back is about 2 1/4”. Our counters are 36” from the floor. With the 2 1/4” clearance in the back, the refrigerator extends approximately 5 3/4 “ away from the counter. So it is not counter depth. Our counters extend about 25 1/2” from the wall. From the wall behind the fridge to the front of the fridge, the measurement is about 31 1/2” not including the handles. So when opening the door next to the counter, there is a gap of 2 1/2” between the counter and the open door if you keep the door at a 90 degree angle from the counter. If you have the door fully opened, there is room for that. We do not have counter on the other side. I hope these measurements give you an idea for your space.
Q: What is: Depth Without Handle? Depth With Handle? Is it a "real" Counter Depth Refrigerator? Thanks,
A: This refrigerator is a true cabinet depth unit. It is important to note that the actual "cabinet" of a cabinet depth refrigerator is the same depth as the cabinets around it, but the doors actually extend beyond the depth of the surrounding cabinets-- this is important, otherwise, the doors would not be able to swing out and open. That said, it is 4" shallower than the full-depth Kitchen Aid unit we replaced, yet it has more usable capacity, especially in the door shelves. We are very happy with the LG.

We replaced our normal size Samsung (after the ice maker broke twice) with this beautiful counter depth LG fridge. We owned a counter depth ages ago but that one didn’t have nearly as much space as this one does. The way we have the shelves configured, an opened/recorded bottle of wine or two liter bottle of soda has to go in the door. We also love have the ice in the freezer and not in the door.

When we moved into our new home just over 4 years ago, we bought top of line appliances from a Cafe. The oven, microwave and dishwasher have been fine. The refrigerator on the other hand was a disaster. It broke on average once every 6 months. While under warranty, it was fixed and we did purchase a 3 year extended warranty. But out of warranty it broke big time and I had had enough and wasn't willing to pay to fix it. So I did a lot of research and found most agree that LG makes the most reliable refrigerators. Our Cafe had hot water in the door, cold water and ice dispenser on the door. They broke a lot. And for a lot of money, it only held 21 cubic feet, which is just not very large. We need counter depth for our kitchen cabinets. This refrigerator from LG holds 26.5 cubic feet of food and the difference is amazing in terms of how much more food we can store. It does have a water dispenser and ice maker, but you have to open the refrigerator door to get water and the freezer compartment to get ice. Both work great and are much less likely to break with use. The ice maker in particular is amazing. It makes large, old fashioned cubes like the type of cubes you'd get from an old fashioned ice tray you filled with water years ago. And it holds a significant amount of ice. LG makes this refrigerator anti-fingerprint and it really is. We were constantly wiping finger prints off the Cafe. The binds are large enough to hold a lot of produce or prepared foods. And since there is no ice/water dispenser in the door, every one of the interior side shelves are gallon jug size, so you can really fill them up, which also adds to the interior space in the refrigerator. All in all, for nearly 50% of what we paid for the Cafe, this is just a much better refrigerator in every respect. Sometimes, simple is better. And we couldn't be happier!

We love this fridge! It’s so spacious and the door bins are surprisingly deep and can fit tons of items! We chose this fridge mainly to have the water dispenser to be on the inside, just looks less bulky which is a personal preference. The water is still very cold when coming out and the ice tray in the freezer makes a ton of ice. We are very satisfied!
