Q: Does the m.2 slot support pcie?
A: We list the hard drive as an M.2 2280 SSD (Solid State Drive) and the interface as SATA3 for the 17Z990-R.AAS8U1, but the M.2 interface is designed to use either Legacy SATA mode or the newer PCI-Express (PCIe) modes and the drive will pick which one to use. The slots in the laptop are labeled as NVMe x 4 and NVMe x 2 so if an NVMe SSD is connected to the slots, NVMe command will be used. ^CP
Q: Is the Thunderbolt port 2-lane or 4-lane? I would like to connect an eGPU to it. Thanks.
A: According to the Thunderbolt™ 3 specifications, the Thunderbolt™ 3 Interface on the LG gram 17” Ultra-Lightweight Laptop with Intel® Core™ i7 processor, Model # 17Z990-R.AAS8U1, it will route up to 4 lanes of PCI express Gen 3 (4 x 8 Gbps) and up to two full (4 lane) links of DisplayPort out over the Thunderbolt cable and connector to the device(s) attached downstream from the host which in this case would be the laptop...^IFV
Q: how large is the charger? how many watt USB-C charger is needed?
A: It is a standard charger 2.5” x 3.75”. The Gram supports USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.0 on Type C port, so it can be charged when source device like portable power bank or Type-c power adapter supports USB PD. Power profile to be charged is like below: 5V @2A(10W), 9V @3A(27W), 15V @3A(45W), 20V @5A(100W). ^CP
Q: Is the screen matte or glossy?

A: Hello, there is a manual that describes how to open and update the LG Graham although it features an LG Gram 15. It is available on IFixIt website. It rates repairability of this laptop as a 9/10 – one of the best out there. It will boot from either one of the M.2 slots. It comes with a SATA3 hard drive. The two M.2 slots will automatically detect either a NVMe SSD or a SATA3 SSD. You can mix and match. The PC will boot from either drive. It has one standard RAM Slot Which is occupied. The other ram is soldered to the motherboard. For instance if you get a PC with 8 GB, 4 is soldered to the motherboard and there is a 4GB DIMM in the slot. The max supported memory is 20 GB. I have opened my PC several times and it is not hard at all. The only annoyance is the screw covers which are tricky to remove without damaging and you also have to remove the rubber feet so you will need some rubber cement or double-sided tape to put them back on.
Q: What are the dimensions of the m.2 NVMe slot?
A: The specifications on our product page for the LG gram 17” Ultra-Lightweight Laptop with Intel® Core™ i7 processor list the hard drive as M.2 2280 SSD. What the number 2280 means is that the slot supports 22mm wide and 80mm long M.2 devices. ^CP
