Broke in 6 months of normal use.

Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I spent $213 on these headphones. They get used every day but I do not use them in any sort of abnormal way. Within 6 months the housing broke. Also just yesterday the retractor broke on 1 ear. So its completely stuck and will not retract anymore. Its too short to reach my ear so these are no longer usable. LG will not warranty it so now I just have a very expensive set of broken headphones. It seems they aren't willing to stand by their product. That will be the last LG product I will be buying.

Great Headset, Caution to iPhone users!
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use1 out of 5I have an older LG headset and thought I would upgrade. The sound quality on calls is great, my family says it's much better than the older one. The controls are easy to use and I thought I would like it more, but I have an iPhone, and the only way to use this with Siri is through the Google Assistant. My older headset connects directly. On this headset you have to keep holding the button until you request Goodle to activate Siri and then whaterver your command is. The older headset is just a press once deal, which is much more hands free. Also, the learning curve with the voice commands is huge. I used it for a week, and it still could not reckognize my most called names. The last straw was that several times throughout the day I had to open my phone and restart the Google Assistant in order to use the headset. Again, not very hands free if you have to pick up your phone. I ended up returning it and going back to my old one.

Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I have purchased quite a few bluetooth earbuds over the years but the LG tone is by far the best for me. This is my fourth. I did not give it a 5 because the retractors are very sluggish. Not at all like the ones in other Tones that I've had. I sometimes have to try 5 or 6 times to get the earbuds to retract. I have not been able to connect the Google assistant and all the controls are in different places than my old one. Otherwise, it's great! Love the battery life and th buds stay in my ears. That's a problem for m in most bluetooth earbuds.

Quality5 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5Really good, but I think my money may have been better spent getting two of these refurbished for the price of one. I've had terrible problems with bluetooth switching on whether I want it to or not when I'm in my car; this one is better, but it still switches on unaccountably every so often. Which seems so strange! I have no idea why it does, but every other bluetooth I've had has been doing that, so at least this is an improvement.

Quality4 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5was $10 more than the next version down - which i had last time. the last one died after a year i guess from sweat when i was walking. i checked reviews and others said the same thing, any how it works well - although the range is not too great if i leave my phone and walk to another room i lose connection. my wife has i pod ears nodes and can go almost anywhere in the house without losing connection.

Q: QuestionDoes the HBS-1125 support AptX and AptX HD? The previous model (HBS-1100) did, and it's hard to imagine a feature like this being removed from a top-end product. All the speaker technology won't help if you're using FM radio-quality signal to begin with
Asked by Alex.
- A:Answer None of the new LG Tone Platinum models have Aptx or Aptx-HD. The original Tone Platinum HBS-1100 supported APTX-HD and it was this feature that allowed the Bluetooth connection to be indistinguishable from CD quality wired headphones. Apparently LG seems to think that adding a dynamic driver to the new models is somehow going to replicate the quality of what they removed but all that it's going to do is give you a fuller sounding distorted connection. They could put six drivers in each earphone and it wouldn't help. Oddly enough, they managed to double the price. You may be asking yourself how could this possibly be an upgraded version of the original Tone Platinums and the honest answer is that it isn't. In order to put APTX-HD compatibility into a device the manufacturer has to pay a royalty fee and this year LG must have decided to raise the price and put all the profit in the shareholders' pockets. This year's models aren't even in the same league as the originals and we will see if Best Buy is truly the going to be the customers' trusted advisor or LG's partner in profit in their decision on whether to publish my truthful opinion (the results of which will appear in another publication prior to Christmas). This year's models should more appropriately be called the Tone Tins.

Q: QuestionDoes it vibrate on in coming calls
Asked by Conrad.
- A:Answer Yes they vibrate when you receive a call. You might want to take that feature off though, due to the cheap plastic LG uses you headset might crack. If it does crack, just prepair your self to spend another $200 on a new set because LG cant stand behind thier products.

Q: QuestionDoes this model have an external speaker?
Asked by Face.
- A:Answer No, the HBS-1125 does not have an external speaker. If you are looking for this feature, check out the HBS-835S. ^CP

Q: QuestionDo these headphones have the aptx bluetooth protocol?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer The original LG Tone Platinum model from 2016 has the aptX feature. The most recent iteration of the Tone Platinum from late 2018 oddly enough is not equipped with aptX capability.

Q: QuestionDoes it do voice commands? For instance can I press a button and ask her to call specific person? And can I press a button and ask to read my texts?
Asked by Gg.
- A:Answer No, this unit does not support voice command.

Q: QuestionAre these headphones sweat and water resistant
Asked by Gs480.
- A:Answer I have not tested my current LG headphones for resistance to sweat and water, but prior versions were not resistant and died - one after a hard workout, and a subsequent set died after I was outside doing lawn work and sweating. I am a fan of these headphones, but I do not subject them to these kinds of situations any more.

Q: QuestionI just received my hbs 1125 earbuds. When I connect to my phone, it shows up as hbs 930. The manual in the box says hbs-1010/930 (platinum-alpha, not platinum+). Are these the same product (930 and 1125), or did I receive the wrong thing?
Asked by Cliff.
- A:Answer Hello, the HBS-1125 are the not the same as the HBS-930, however, we are unsure of what you received. We do recommend you contact your the dealer or take them to the store for your order to be reviewed. ^AC
