Customers have good things to say about the XBOOM Go PK7's sound quality, battery life, and bass, with many praising its impressive audio performance. The speaker's portability and attractive design are also frequently highlighted as positive aspects. However, some customers express concerns about the speaker's volume and weight. Features like the lights and water resistance are mentioned as additional pluses.
I was looking for a portable speaker for my wife so she could listen to her music on the patio or deck without having to carry my boom box speaker and this was perfect... not as punchy for my taste but good enough for her. The battery life on it is pretty good she can listen to music for at least 8 hrs. straight before needing to charge it again, it's also light weight and has perfect carrying handles.

GREAT SOUND AND GOOD EXCELLENT QUALITY OF PICK UP FROM ANY BLUETOOTH DEVICES

I just received the LG PK7 from Fed Ex. The box was a little heavier than I expected, but with speakers, that's generally a good thing. On opening the box, the speaker was well packaged yet easily accessible. In the box, in addition to the speaker, was a small box underneath that had the charging chord and the usual obligatory warning and set up sheet. In all, the unit had the typical quality we have come to expect from LG consumer grade equipment. This did not disappoint. OK, here is where the one minor issue comes... As I stated above, it came with a charging cable, not the usual USB I have come to expect with all of my other wireless products. The problem (and yes, I get it, it IS a minor issue) is that if you are traveling, this is yet another cable you need to pack instead of using the almost universal USB chord that you use to charge your phone, earpiece, headphones et al. Is it a deal breaker? No, not even close, just a minor inconvenience. The speaker is now removed and plugged in, I let it fully charge. Only took an hour to get the battery charged. Powered the unit up and it came right up and was automatically in pairing mode. It paired immediately and I was off and running. I tested it with "5 Finger Death Punch" "The Bleeding" and the sound was really good for a portable unit. Honestly, it was one of the best portable speakers I have heard for sound quality. The bass was impressive, the mids were clean and solidly separated from the equally clean highs. I am not a self described audiophile but as a father of 2 busy active kids who were splashing in the pool, the sound was great. And the kids splashing in the pool brings me to the next nice feather. The speaker is IPX5 weather resistant. Please remember, this does NOT equate to "water proof", but it is splash resistant. I was perfectly confident in setting it on the pool deck and had no worries the several times it got splashed. It took it like a trooper. Nice feature. The unit also comes with two features that are interesting but maybe just slightly more than a gimmick. One feature is a "Clear Vocal" button that probably adds a little something, but after toggling on and off a few times, I could tell a difference but not overly definable. The other feature is an :Enhanced Bass" button that I also tested. I could tell a little more defined difference between when it was on and off. In the end, I left them both on because, why not? As I was testing the music, my wife called and I took the call on this unit. The sound on my end was great. Very crisp and clear. At the end of call, I asked her how it sounded on her end. She said it was pretty good but I sounded a little bit "distant". Considering that I was about 6 feet from the speaker the entire conversation, that's honestly pretty impressive. I called her back when I was closer and she said it sounded great. Another "interesting" feature is the LED that beats and pulses with the music. To be honest, its kind of cool, but can get tiresome when just sitting there in front of you. That said, I think it could be a pretty fun feature in a party or social gathering environment. That said, my kids absolutely LOVED it, so I have to mention that in an effort to be fair in my review. The good news, there is a solution... Make sure you download the "Music Flow Bluetooth" ap. Using the ap, you can not only turn the LED on and off, but you can also adjust the pattern / color scheme so that's a nice inclusion. Again, the kids loved messing around with it so in all, a cool feature. One final feature it has is the "Dual Play" option that allows you to connect a second LG PK7 in order to play in true stereo. While I can't vouch for or comment on the efficacy of the feature, I did find it important to mention. End of the day, it's a really nice, large Bluetooth speaker that will work for the active family at the pool, beach, camping, fishing or other busy outdoor activities. Other than the power chord bummer, its a very good option. I would certainly recommend it to a friend Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product.
