This is just a straight up classic hip hop cd! What makes it even more special is that it dropped before many of the classic rap albums you've heard or heard of, many of which were influenced by this album in one way or another. This was a full album of good rap music before NWA, EAZY-E, Eric B and Rakim, EPMD, Slick Rick, Public Enemy and many other of the breakout stars of hip hop even had an album out! Although "Liscensed to Ill" was clearly influenced by RUN DMC it was very original in its own right and other than the songs that were wrote or co wrote by RUN DMC it showcases a young group of guys that knew how to write good songs and get the party started! This was also the album that put DEF JAM on the map and started their rise to the top of rap music. Don't think twice, its alright to go pick this up ASAP. Cheers!

OMG! This CD had me reliving my college days and the crazy lyrics of each track. I even have my 13 yr. old daughter jammin' to them now. She asked if White Castle was only in New York since most of their tracks mention it. I play this CD at least once a week while driving on I-95. This is a must have, especially for those of who grew up in the 80's.

Not much to say. There are a couple songs on this album i wanted. Its the Beastie Boys. I like them ok. Not a big rap person, but i can handle the Beastie Boys in moderation. Probably do to the mix of rock into the music.

This is one of the best CD's ever made. Every song, with the possible exception of "Girls", is a rockin', jammin' timeless work of genius. One song flows into the next. Put your bass on the highest setting, or don't bother listening.

I didn't like this when it first came out, but their music kind of grew on me over the years. Saw it at a great price recently, and figured I'd get it, especially after one of the band members died recently. Certainly a unique album.

This CD was a spontaneous purchase only because of the great price. Found in the $10 and under bin, which is always at BB and always appreciated. A great way to get new music to listen too and for a cheap price.

So my musical tastes have changed considerably since this was first released...but I still love making some noise with this one. It's a Classic! Sigh...did I really just say that? Just turn it up and enjoy.

My friend tried to get me to explore this album so I picked it up. Honestly, I don't see the hype and have tried countless times to get into it. Not terrible, but just not something that I enjoy. Still classic in many eyes though.
