Fast No Hiccups Cable Modem
Posted .This Linksys CM3024 replaced my Motorola Arris SB6141. Setup was simple, as with any cable modem, but it's the activation where many have their headaches. Not with this Linksys CM3024. I simply traded cables with my previous SB6141, powered it up, waited a couple minutes then power-cycled it again and was able to follow through with Comcast's web activation. Not having to pickup that phone was nice. As for speed and overall performance, there has been no slow downs, drops or anything that would cast doubt on the CM3024. I still consider early in the game so if my opinion changes by any means I will certainly update this. I received this as a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback and I am honestly satisfied with it and I definitely give this a thumbs up. For cable modems, I am a Motorola die hard but I will gladly say this: It has been an awesome replacement and I will not be swapping it back.

Great cable modem with power to spare!
Posted .I received this modem as a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback. Unboxing was typical. Included is the modem, AC adapter (which isn't too big), cat5e network cable, and quick start guide if you need it. Replaced my surfboard sb6121 with this linksys modem. PROS: -Offers great speed. Currently on 75mbit/10mbit cable but soon to upgrade to 150mbit/20mbit and this modem will easily handle those speeds also. -Nicely designed with green and blue status lights -Built in stand to allow modem to stand up easily which is something my surfboard always suffered from with coax being too stiff to allow it to stand vertically. -Setup and activation was super easy and quick (less than 5-10 minutes including waiting for comcast to recognize the modem) -Black in color. -Plenty of ventilation to prevent overheating problems and you barely notice the vents due to the design. CONS: None so far.

Linksys friends and family program
Posted .I received this modem for free as a member of the Linksys Friends + Family Program in exchange for my honest feedback. I replaced my ISP rented modem and the my performance and reliability immediately increased. My current package provides upto 300Mbs, and i am able to acheive that without a hitch as i was unable to get speeds anywhere near that with the rental. The modem has been running for a week with no signs of degraded performance and required no reboots, the rental was rebooted atleast 3 times a week. The only downside of the modem is the size, its very bulky. The modem is paired with the Linksys WRT3200ACM router. I have used many Linksys products and will continue to do so.

Up and Running with the CM3024
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAs a tech enthusiast, I can appreciate when someone has solved a common problem and I can take their hard work and resolve the issue. In this case, I wasn't looking to fix a known problem. I was asked by Linksys to give an honest review of the CM3024 Cable Modem given to me as a free sample. Well, here we go. I am a Brighthouse customer in the Tampa, FL area and have had no issues with their service. I owned my own modem and to the best of my knowledge, it worked flawlessly. However, there was one tiny underlying issue that seemed to bug me. I own a ChannelMaster DVR+ and when trying to access the streaming channels, I would always get lag and lots of it. I blamed ChannelMaster and their service. It couldn't be Brighthouse since every streaming device I had worked without a hitch. Without further thought, I resolved to live without using the DVR+ internet channels. About 2 weeks ago Linksys entered into the picture and asked if I would be interested in testing the CM3024 Cable Modem. I agreed to put it through its paces and had them send me the unit. Upon receiving the CM3024, I called Brighthouse tech support and provided the info to get the modem online. In about 10 minutes I was up and running. Now to see what difference if any there might be. I started testing all of my devices and streaming players, smart TVs and the such, when I remembered the DVR+ and the internet channel issues. Upon initial connection, there was the usual 5-10 second buffering, however, this time, just a solid HD stream without any instance of lag. I checked all of the channels I would want to watch and couldn't believe the issue was resolved. What was the difference you ask? It was the number of channels the modem offers. The modem I currently owned only had 8 download and 4 upload channels, while on the CM3024 there were 24 download and 8 upload channels. This is in spite of my current modem exceeding my subscribed bandwidth. Having to acquire a cable modem again, I would definitely purchase the Linksys CM3024 Cable Modem.

Linksys Friends + Family Program
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my feedback. I have used this modem now (Linksys - Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem) for over a week and it has outperformed my Internet providers modem overwhelmingly. I was issued a wireless modem from my provider and I have to reboot the modem 2-3 times a week, due to slow speeds and network drops. I added a Linksis wireless router ( Linksys WRT1900AC) to eliminate the wireless modem frequency from being an internal issue. It did not solve the repeated dropped connection issue's. Since using this modem, not one issue and speeds have improved 3 fold. I would highly recommend this product to anyone issued a used (rented) modem from their internet provider. Not only has it improved our internet experience, but it is saving me money on rental fee's.

Linksys Friends + Family Program
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my feedback. I have used this modem now (Linksys CM3024 - Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem) for over a week and it has outperformed my previous modem. My previous modem speed tests were about 125 MB download and 12 MB uploads. Now I get about 250 MB downloads and 15 MB uploads. I have about 45 devices connected to my home network (iPads, iPhones, DVRs, FireSticks, Chromecast, Apple TV, smart TVs, PS3, PS4, XBOX, Powerline Adaptors, Nexia Smart Home Automation, ADT Security, Chromebooks, PC, etc.). About 30 of those devices are constantly connected at any given time. Both my wife and I telework via VPN at least 2 days a week each. We have not encountered any connection issues. I thoroughly put the modem to test over the weekend when there were at least 5 concurrent movie streams from Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, and VUDU. There were many WiFi enabled devices connected from guests and home users who were streaming music and playing games. I did not have to reboot or perform any maintenance on the new modem since installation. The swap out of the old modem has been transparent to my family (the end-users) and the level of difficulty to set it up was minimal. The modem also serves as a great investment since it eliminates modem rental fees from your ISP.

Q: QuestionD o you sell a Linksys cable modem-router combination
Asked by vernon.
- A:Answer While companies used to do this you don't see it as much any longer. I don't recommend the combination as upgrades are harder and overall security and reliability go WAY down with it doing that level of network integration. Lastly the integrated router is usually behind on wireless spec and/or features.

Q: QuestionAfter this modem is installed to coaxial internet, can wireless devices connect to it?
Asked by Tiletrial.
- A:Answer No, Tiletrial. The CM3024 is just a plain modem. You will need to get a router in order to have a WiFi network.

Q: QuestionDoes this work with FIOS internet, it says all major cable providers, but FIOS is not listed.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, the Linksys DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Model will work with FIOS as long as it supports Ethernet connection.

Q: QuestionCan a phone liNE connect to this? I have to use my magic jack.
Asked by Sonia.
- A:Answer I would say YES a Magic Jack can be connected, but NOT directly to the modem. I have two Magic Jacks, therefore two different phone numbers. One MJ is connected to one of the Windows 7 computers (via USB port) on the wired network. The other MJ is connected directly into a Linksys 8 port switch then is connected wired over some distance to the Linksys router. Both MJ work well with this configuration. Hope this helps.

Q: Questiondoes this hook up 2 phone lines also
Asked by tommy.
- A:Answer The is a cable modem (coaxial connection) and not a DSL modem which would connect to a phone line. Check with your internet service provider for their approved modem list.

Q: QuestionI upgraded through Windstream for faster speed with new modem and now cannot go back to the former modem I used because wires were bonded. Will this work in place of what I have as Windstreams former model won't even work? I'm trying to avoid extra fees.
Asked by Linda.
- A:Answer If you mean the coax that connects to your modem, you can re-terminate the ends yourself with a tool kit from any hardware store. Same thing with a LAN wire end.
