Worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worth every pricey penny. I had been planning for months to buy the Velop AC2200 when I went on Best Buy to make the purchase I saw this new one with extended range. We have a 1.25 acre property with the main house and then two guest houses. One about 100 feet from the modem/router. The other about 150 feet from the modem/router. I like how it would tell you if the child (secondary/third) nodes were placed in a good spot to receive a signal. I thought I could daisy chain the Velops but each one connects to the parent (main) node, but this didn’t even matter because each child node placed 100 feet away and 150 feet away still said “placed correctly” and is working amazing. Easiest set up ever, the app walked through each step one by one. In the photos show my original mediacom issued modem/router speed 46 mbps and the second picture is the velop speed 630 mbps not sure what sort of magic is in three towers but if you need better internet this is 100% worth the money. So happy .

Linksys Velop AX4200 WiFi 6 System -3 pack
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this item for our 2-store house and it distributes the internet excellent all over . We placed one attached to the modem , in the main floor, and the other two remaining, in the second floor, in opposite rooms and there , the checked wifi speed is always over 700 Mbps ( our plan is 1000 Mbps). Any device directly connected will reach the maximum of our plan. I’m extremely satisfied with this product , that’s why it’s highly recommended .

Exceeds Expectations!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a long apartment in an old building with thick plaster walls. The wifi signal was quite inconsistent. I had upgraded the wiring, modem and router. The signal was still inconsistent, and fell off quickly with distance from the base. My wife and I are both working from home now due to the pandemic. Our video meetings were constantly freezing up and losing clarity and sound. We needed to improve this, as our work depended on it. After researching mesh systems, I settled on the Linksys Velop AX4200 Wifi 6 system- 3 pack. My cable is situated in the middle of my long apartment, with my wife working at one end, and my office at the other far end. I was skeptical that the signal would be improved enough for our purposes. I do not have ethernet available to hard wire the three nodes so I was setting up the system wirelessly. I found the set up of the system quick and easy. There are a good number of ethernet ports on the back of the three identical nodes, so things were quickly connected to the central base. I placed the two satellite nodes in the rooms where we are both working, both are at least 50 or more feet from the central node, with thick walls intervening. I downloaded the linksys app to my iPhone, and was able to quickly configure the system. It could not have taken more than 15 minutes to unpack and set up the three nodes. I went to each remote location, and did a speed test. The internet speed was excellent. My internet speed is said to be 400 mbps from my provider. I now consistently clock between more than 300 to 480 mbps in the two remote locations! More importantly, the video conferencing is now great in both locations. We have absolutely no complaints.

Best System Yet!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had 3 nodes in the house, the original Velop system worked overall fairly well with (about 35 devices) but speeds were less than desirable at about 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload (my internet plan is gigabit speeds with 40 Mbps download). I decided to upgrade to this newer WiFi 6 velop system because I thought I should get more use out of my gigabit speed internet plan. Switching the nodes to this newer Velop system was easy, the screen grabbed all the settings from the original velop, manual dns servers, dyndns, port forwarding, all the individual wifi rules, all those little things that you might forget about and proceeded to switch everything over using the same network name (hoping that everything would just work). Started up and configured the main node (it is acting as the router) and the internet was only down for only about 10 minutes while everything was setup to provide the basic wifi. Worked like a charm. I then proceeded to setup the rest of the nodes and they all connected perfectly. I then decided to start testing the wifi speeds and found at my main node I was getting 500 Mbps download and 40 Mbps upload and the farthest away I went in my home I still was receiving 150 Mbps download and 40 Mbps upload, being the lowest speeds I recorded around my house. This Linksys Velop is really great and honestly easier to set up than the original Velop, as those were first gen tech. I am very pleased with how well they work and feel they will last a long time.

Best WiFi 6 mesh in this price range!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Linksys Velop AX4200 mesh system comes with 3 AX4200 nodes, 3 power bricks, and 1 Cat6 ethernet cable. Setup was pretty quick and took ~4 minutes per node on the LinkSys app to set up to my existing Velop mesh (i currently have 2 AX5300 nodes). Total setup time for all three AX4200 nodes took ~20 minutes which includes wiring the nodes to setup a wired backhaul. The LinkSys app makes setup pretty straightforward. One thing to note is that when your nodes are all setup, in the LinkSys app you can go to the Wi-Fi Settings > Advanced Wi-Fi Settings > then select the Channel Finder to optimize the channels your nodes are on for better Wi-Fi coverage (this particular option is not available in the web interface for the router settings). Additionally, if you're house has ethernet ports in each room, you will most definitely want to connect an ethernet (ideally Cat6 ethernet cable) directly into the "Internet" port of your satellite node. Doing so will allow your satellite nodes to be connected via the wired backhaul and frees up the third band on the node to handle more devices, otherwise the third band will be dedicated to communicating with the master node/router which will be slower. To ensure you've properly setup a wired backhaul, you can go to 192.168.1.1/sysinfo.cgi in your browser (or your default-gateway-ip-address/sysinfo.cgi) then log in with your username/pw, username is "admin" and password is what you chose during setup on LinkSys app. Let the page load (as it typically takes anywhere up to a minute to load) then press "Ctrl + F" to open up the finder in the browser, then type in "bh_report" and you can view your satellite node configuration. Under the "Chan." column (short for channel), if your node is listed as "wired" then you have a wired backhaul! Onto performance, i have to say i am very impressed. At this price point, these AX4200 nodes pretty much perform on par to my AX5300 nodes. Speed tests on my Wifi 6 devices have me anywhere between 350-750Mbps up and down (depending on where i am at in relation to the node). The highest i have seen on speed tests with these AX4200 nodes are around 820Mbps down and 752Mbps up. The other most noticeable difference between this AX4200 node vs the AX5300 node is that the AX4200 node only has 4 gigabit ports vs 5 on the AX5300 (not a big deal for me since i switches to throughout my house to physically hardwire where i can). The radius for coverage is very impressive as i can get WiFi coverage up to 25 feet of outside my house. Overall, i would totally recommend this system to anyone that is looking for a WiFi 6 mesh router setup. At this price point, what you are getting is actually a very good mesh setup!

High-Performance Simplicity
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installing and setting up the Linksys Velop MX12600 mesh system was the simplest network hardware install I have ever done. I downloaded the Linksys app to my smartphone, connected the first node to my modem, and within 30 minutes I had the other two nodes connected and seamless WiFi coverage blanketing my entire home from the far corners of the basement to the attic. And the speed? I might as well have a wired connection! It’s that good. I walked across the street to talk to the neighbor in his front yard and I still had good signal strength. Then I headed into the back yard where our WiFi has historically been nonexistent, and there’s booming signal to the ends of the property. I’m blown away. If you’re simply looking for easy to use mesh WiFi coverage, look no further. This couldn’t be simpler to implement, and the wireless coverage and speed are outstanding. Upon opening the box containing the Linksys MX12600, I was immediately struck by how monolithic the three nodes are. No antennae bristling around the perimeter. Just a simple white rectangle with a single recessed light in a corner on top. The box also contains three power cords, a short ethernet cable and a card labeled Setup Guide. The Setup Guide directs you to download the app, it contains a legend indicating what the different colors/flashing states of the node’s single light tells you, and it has Customer Service contact information. Simple! I appreciate that each node has three available ethernet ports. It makes short work of accommodating my wired network devices. Setup was a breeze. Plug in your node and connect your modem to its Internet port. Start the app (I used my smartphone) and follow the directions. It’s honestly that simple. We have a crowded network with multiple computers, tablets, smartphones, smart TVs, media streaming devices, game consoles, etc., all vying for bandwidth. The Linksys Velop effortlessly provides connection to all devices and does an admirable job of prioritizing traffic. I’ve noticed no slowdowns. HD streaming to the family room television while pulling a multi-gigabyte download in the basement and playing COD upstairs? No problem. Our home has AT&T internet, and for three years I have been working with the residential gateway (their non-optional modem/router combo) in an effort to boost coverage. I have purchased their ineffective range extenders, repurposed my old routers as access points, unsuccessfully trying any combination of equipment I can think of to get consistent, high-speed wireless coverage throughout the home. This system solved my problem in under half an hour! If you are looking for continuous coverage at maximum speed, I wholeheartedly recommend the Linksys Velop MX12600.

Q: QuestionHi, Are these interchangeable, i.e. are all 3 routers? or Is one a router and 2 of them satellites? Thanks
Asked by Govik.
- A:Answer Yes, all 3 nodes are identical but have their own SSID/Password/Recovery Code sticker on the bottom just in case you and 2 friends want to split these nodes up to run them separately in your respective homes. By connecting one node to your internet modem and using it to set up a new network within the Linksys App, you are designating it to be the primary node. Any other nodes you add to it will become secondary nodes. Please note that you cannot daisy-chain secondary nodes. Each secondary node must have a good connection to the primary node.

Q: QuestionHi, has anyone noticed intermittent signal drops or intermittent DNS resolution issues with this router? I'm wondering how stable the connections are.
Asked by tryingtofindmesh.
- A:Answer Yes I have noticed DNS issues and I have to reboot every week at least once, otherwise it is a good system.

Q: QuestionI have 3 existing Velop AC2200 nodes used to create a mesh network. Is this compatible with an existing AC2200 Velop system or would I need to rebuild from scratch or purchase another AC2200 node?
Asked by Dan.
- A:Answer It does work with existing AC Velop. I suggest you make the AX4200 the primary node. I was in a similar sitiuation and chose to rebuild the Wi-Fi network using the same name and password, and remove the AC nodes since these are faster and with better range

Q: QuestionI read that me and "2 friends" can use this 3-pack at our houses, but you need one connected to your gateway as the "parent" and then need at least one more somewhere in the house which connects to the parent in order to extend wifi. So, minimum 2?? Thx
Asked by smtrader.
- A:Answer Actually, you can use one pack, two packs or three packs. It all depends on the size of the home and how much area you need Wifi. I would begin with a two pack. Any of the units can be used as the router, which would be the one you connect to your gateway. The other unit(s) will serve as extensions to that pack. You can buy a two pack system now and if needed, you can extend it by obtaining an additional pack. Decide now which Wifi network you wish to install. Linksys has their network wifi mesh systems in either Wifi 5 or the newer Wifi 6 standard. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionI have smart home devices that require a 2.4 connection. With my current Linksys router, I have to turn off band steering and use a separate 2.4 network for them. Will this router be able to run these devices on 2.4 without turning off band steering?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi. The Velop MX4000 Series Wi-Fi 6 System will only broadcast one Wi-Fi name for the entire network but, you can customize the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band settings.

Q: QuestionIve seen conflicting information on this, but is this model compatible as a Apple HomeKit accessory. As in works as a HomeKit enabled router.
Asked by Rawkfist1501.
- A:Answer Hi, Rawkfist1501. Our Linksys MX4200 now works with Apple HomeKit to add an extra layer of security to your smart home. You may use the Home app to control which services and devices your HomeKit accessories can communicate with within your network and on the internet.

Q: QuestionWe have a house that's about 1100 sq ft. And a mother in law suite in the back. Window of our house to window of the tiny house is probably 10 feet. Anyone have experience going from building to building with one of these?
Asked by mpaisley88.
- A:Answer First, it will depend where you have placed your device. I have one placed on an outside wall as close to my outbuilding as I can get ( I have the 3 device mesh system). My outbuilding is about 65 ft from the closest device. For about 50 ft or so between the buildings I get a good signal. At the outbuilding I had limited signal - sometimes it would connect and sometimes it would not or drop. I already had range extenders from my previous wifi system and when I added a range extender on the house's second floor and one in the outbuilding, I got a good signal in the outbuilding. So I would expect you should have a good signal if you are only 10 ft between the two structures. But once again it depends upon where your wifi device is located in relation to the outbuilding.
