I am VERY pleased with this pen. I do a number of projects in which it is easier to had write the notes, then assemble a document later. This has made that MUCH easier. After taking my notes, I just pick the parts of the document I want, use the OCR and assemble the document. The OCR is not bad, I have messy handwriting and it catches easily 80% of what I write. Most of the conversion problems are with industry specific short hand. I did have a minor issue with he pen at first, contacted the manufacturer and a new one was sent right away. Been VERY happy with it since. This is also a great product to use to record meetings, classes, etc while taking notes. The way it associates the writing tit the audio makes it VERY easy for me to clarify any notes I have written. Great tool

I have owned three previous Livescribe models and this one is my favorite so far. The pen design in thinner, more metallic and durable. The new pen inserts are silky smooth and last longer than previous versions. The stylus tip on the top of the pen is a nice touch.

I bought this own on a whim thinking I'd probably return it but when I unpacked it in the box I tried it out and fell in love! I am one who likes to hand write everything down and I love that I can record while writing. I think the journal cover is bulky, you can take it off but then there is no place to hold your pen so I deal. Also the pen is thicker than I like and makes my writing sloppy but I think it's something you learn to get used to the more you use it. One awesome thing is how very long the battery lasts. I've had this for months and haven't had to charge it up yet!
