Logitech - Fold-Up Bluetooth Keyboard for Apple® iPad® 2

I take my iPad2 with me everywhere. Love the portability, battery life and the apps are useful. Don't like to do anything longer than a twitter post on the onscreen keyboard. I've tried the Zagg, now Logitech, folio keyboard case on my iPad1. Bit cramped for my large hands. The origami workstation for the apple was better in a lot of respects. Love the keyboard, but hated the bulk of it and constantly worried if my AA batteries would give out. Having to manually turn on the keyboard and turn the bluetooth on and off on the wi-fi was bit of a pain. The biggest issue was having to unexpectedly take notes or type more than a couple of sentences unexpectedly, and realizing that I left the origami and keyboard behind. Best Buy had the fold out keyboard on sale this week, and I even found an open box model in the store! $75 plus tax made me willing to give this a try. It has a lot of features that promise to be better than the apple BTKB: iPad specific function keys, internal rechargeable battery, and it effortlessly turns itself and the iPad's bluetooth on and off while being opened and closed. Not bad. It does add bulk and weight to the iPad, but mine slips in and out with minimal effort, even with Ghost Armor applied to the front and back of it. The opening mechanism seems to stick a bit when the keyboard folds out, I'm hoping that will improve with extended use. And it's a little too pricey at MSRP, but the sale makes it much more tempting. And the keyboard seems a bit thin and flimsy compared to the Apple and Zagg boards, but I'm hoping this will be ultimately be more usable than the other options I've encountered so far. I'll have to see how it endures repeated use, and if it's good for anything other than sitting on a level flat surface at desk level; I'm wondering if it will be usable on my lap. This will hopefully help me to take better advantage of some iPad apps which truly need a keyboard, such as IAWriter, OmniFocus and a few others. If nothing else, the long battery life should allow me to keep it in my car so I can quickly and easily retrieve it should an unexpected use for a keyboard come up.

I got it on sale but thought the MSRP was a bit steep compared to other Blue Tooth keyboards for the iPad. It is better than others because it will actually hold the iPad and it doesn't just sit on the keyboard or open up and is resting on a notch in the case. The iPad actually snaps into to. You can early carry it but it does almost double the weight. The keyboard itself is easy to set up and works flawless and there is no lag. It is easy to fold and unfold. Since it is rechargeable there is no batteries to buy. I have charged mine only once and so far it has lasted almost a couple of week but so far have only answered a few e-mail.

Owning several other bluetooth keyboards for my Ipad2 I was a bit hesitant to make this purchase, especially regarding the price, but seeing it on sales after Christmas at Best Buy I figured why not. Other keyboards, including the Zagg, have been okay but a bit cramped. I even tried the Clam but was disappointed in the keyboard feel and noise, though the concept was okay. Now this keyboard not only looks great but it is also full size, functional, has a great feel, and I would have no problem typing extensively with it. A bit heavy but works fine with the Ipad2 Smart Cover for decent protection. Regular list price is too much but priced around $79 to $99 would be a fair price. I would truly recommend. Hard to beat Logitech on most items. A definite winner!

The MSRP cost is more than I would like to spend, but it was on sale and I used my rewards... So, it worked out for me. The keyboard does seem a bit flimsy, and noisier than expected, but, works well. I like the fact that its a full sized keyboard, so I don't feel cramped when I type. The keys are very responsive, and there is no delay, which I LOVE; so, I'll live with the noise. Compact, and easy to get started, or put away. The whole thing does seem heavier than just the iPad itself, but not more than a netbook. I like the idea of having it all together, and not in pieces either.

Having bigger hands (fatter fingers) and feeling like Goldilocks trying out several different keyboards... This one feels just right.

I was on the fence about getting an iPad as I wanted something that could replace my laptop. I hate touchscreen keyboards and knew that I'd never be able to use the iPad2 for long emails. However, with this new Logitech folding keyboard, I haven't had to use my old laptop once since replacing it. It's very sturdy as well and my 3 year old son hasn't broken it yet. This keyboard folds perfectly into the case and adds a decent amount of weight to the overall iPad2. It's VERY easy to remove the Ipad from this case. I could not live without this keyboard and after showing a few people at work they've all purchased them.

I've been looking for a keyboard for my Ipad2 for quite some time now. And I was not impressed with anything that I found. I was a little skeptical when I came across this one. I have to admit, Logitech has outdone themselves once again. I love this keyboard. It is full size, it turns on and off by opening and closing, you'll never have to buy batteries for it, and it is as compact as it could possibly be. Just to give you an idea of how compact...I could still fit my Ipad in a sleeve that I had previously purchased for it. The Ipad fits perfectly and if you have a smart cover you could keep it on. Overall, I know the price is a little high but it is well worth it.

Using it right now to type this review. It is awesome! Great quality construction. There's no lag in the typing. Very simple to set up & very comfortable to type on. I'm so glad I got it on sale! It makes using my iPad so much easier. My poor laptop will never be used now!
