The best wheel experience I've ever had!
Posted .I have been using force feedback wheels for about 8-10 years now, starting with the Logitech Driving Force. I've enjoyed them so much I almost exclusively play racing games. I upgraded to the Driving Force GT when I got the PS3 and it was a fantastic wheel. I really wanted a clutch and shifter though, so I found a buyer for the DFGT and got the G27. What a wheel! It's almost whisper quiet which is a great advantage over the previous wheels, and it feels incredibly smooth. The pedals are fantastic and give you much better control, and I was quite surprised at how good the shifter feels and works! If a G27 can't be afforded, the Driving Force GT is a great option, but if the funds are available for a G27 it is well worth every penny!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you're somewhat serious about racing games.

Get a Fanatec
Posted .If you want a more realistic wheel, get a Fanatec. They are belt driven with smoother and more powerful force feed back. The G27 doesn't have rumble and the Fanatec wheels have rumble. The Fanatec wheels will also allow you to upgrade to the Clubsport pedals which are in a completely different class from the G27 pedals.

Not a huge leap over G25...but both are perfect
Posted .I've been looking to replace my 1st Gen Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback wheel for quite sometime now. It has held up beautifully for such a primitive (plastic gears and belt drive) not to mention being one of the original FF wheels. The G25 was the only wheel I said I'd bother getting to replace it - "if it ain't broke...." sorta thing. Well, they NEVER went on sale and my Sidewinder NEVER broke. Then the G27 came out. Nothing drastically new/different about it. I was more hoping this would mean I'd find a G25 new/used on the cheap and be set. Waiting waiting, other priorities came up, life stuff...and I forgot all about it on and off for a year or two. Then I see the G27 for $149 online. Call the local BB right away...the two I had seen just 24 hours prior - gone. But a store 1 hour away has a few. Road trip :) Employee hands me the box...the thing is heavy. Not "I'm gonna fall over" heavy, but "man - this has some quality to it!" heavy. Later that night I finally got around to setting it up and breaking it in. G25 vs G27: A few more buttons, a new shift light mounted atop the wheel hub. You lose the ability to lock your shift gate into either H-pattern or sequential but you still have the ability to use either in a game. You'll notice that the 3/4 gates in the H-pattern are weighted slightly different than 1/2 and 5/6...this helps the shift stay centered if you prefer. Not a con for me, personally - but it probably was nice having it "locked". The wheel feels amazing. Leather wrapped surfaces feel straight outta any sports car. All the buttons have a solid feel to them; nothing was skimped on and no corners were cut. The paddles have a great "click" to them and your fingers can reach them throughout any angle in a turn...they are LOONNG - not some little stubs that you'll be stretching for if you decide to use them as your shifting point. Force Feedback is strong (obviously, depending on what level you set it at, this can be adjusted) but quiet. A lot more "life-like" than my Sidewinder in terms of FF feel and actual steering precision. Games like Live For Speed and rFactor weren't necessarily a lot easier, but my times were better and I enjoyed them more. rFactor, especially, which was a game I couldn't stand as it just didn't feel right compared to other top-level simulators. After playing it w/the G27 I see what most of the fuss was about. Cars tracked better, counter-locking/steering was easier to maintain as there was more communication between the tires and the wheel. Just a better experience. In a nutshell: Buy this wheel. For $299 definitely. If you are lucky to still find one for $149...you'd be insane to not pick one up.

great product
Posted .i did alot of research for this wheel vs the g25 before i got it. if you don't have a wheel at all, this one is the one to target. a little pricey but worth it. this is actually my first wheel and i love it. i got it for the upcoming grand tursimo and nfs hot pursuit (hopefully). every complains that buttons and things don't work on the wheel. its not the wheel, its the game maker themselves that have to support the wheel to play with their game. this has nothing to do with logitech. in the future there will be more game developers that will support the wheel and customizing of all the button available. i purchased gt5 prologue and the wheels work great. and yes the the h shifter works using the clutch. tap the triangle button to activate it once the race starts. you will know it works once you shift. it should go to neutral thus requiring you to clutch to shift. wheel is precise and add complete realism to the game for sure. the force feedback is great and a controller just can't give this to you.

Great wheel, but not on all games.
Posted .Good wheel. works on most games like mcla, gran turismo, nfs hot pursuit and so on, but not on nfs shift. i don't know if its my wheel or what, but it likes to "steer itself" on that game. i don't know why. the shift lights work when i turn it on, but not on any game, but there's a reason for that, the games were made before the wheel.

Excelent wheel!
Posted .That´s the best racing wheel I´ve ever used. Bring to us a real experience in driving F1 cars. I´m very pleased with my purchase. The only problem is the wheel must be attached to a hard base, otherwise it´s impossible to drive adequately due to the force feedback.

Great Racing Wheel
Posted .This racing wheel is the best wheel I've used that gives real simulator type driving. The steering, braking, acceleration, and shifting are all available in realistic controls. It took all the Playstation 3 driving games I had to the next level. Using this wheel with the Grand Turismo 5 Prologue is outstanding. Only problem I've found is there isn't a playstation button on the controls, which can be really annoying. I use a second controller for the playstation button, but not all games recognize it. Also the mounting device doesn't work well with a table; you really need a mount for the controls, so I used the Xlerator wheel stand, which works nice if you don't have a lot of space. Hopefully the newer driving games will have more customizing control options available to set up better with the new wheel. It has set the new standard for racing wheels.

G27 Great GT Racing Wheel
Posted .Good quality leather wrapped wheel. Good feel to the pedals. Shifter is OK, feel is not very realistic but seems ok for gaming. Games seem to be behind on support for this wheel. It works in the games but no setup screens. GT5 does not have setup for it. No documentation came with it for PS3. I still haven't found a way to change any settings on the wheel throough PS3. It has programmable buttons on the wheel but no way to program. Overall very happy with it and I am sure games will catch up. It was too expensive, will be great when it gets below $200.
