One remote to rule them all!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have multiple a sounder or Home Theatre with an AVR you have to purchase this remote. It will change your life. One thing to keep in mind though is like any other device, it does what it's told so it will only be as smart as you make it. The cool thing is the options to make it smart are endless. I have owned 2 of these remotes for 3 yrs, never regretted it and when I decided to help my brother build his home theatre system this was a must have. How many time have to came back to your entertainment system to watch TV or listen to music and the config was totally off due to whoever was using it last? Well with this remote all of that can be avoided! With the activities you can program which devices are turned on, order, and add additional commands such as the sound mode of your AVR, initial channel for your cable box, or even turn on lights. Working in the dark? Not an issue because the remote's buttons are backlit and force feedback is built in so when you touch a command on the touch screen you know the remote has received it. For the geeks, this is one of the few remotes that can communicate with IR and RF devices. The base that the remote connects to does not speak RF but the remote does. The remote can be customized to use the base + remote, just base, or just remote to communicate with devices. Since the remote speaks to the base via RF it has no issue speaking to any device that requires an RF signal instead of IR. Icing on the cake, Google Home, Alexa, and when all else fails, IFTTT integration supported. This remote is truly of the King of Kings when it comes to remotes. One remote to rule them all!

Sleek and Fantastic with one drawback
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all it’s a beautiful looking remote control. The buttons placement and the aesthetic are just right. Since it’s the Elite - you have the hub which allows you to connect/control all your devices/smart home devices with your smartphone/tablet. Setup - it can be a bit challenging if you’re not familiar with Logitech Universal Remote. I will recommend going through the initial setup process using a tablet (smartphone 2nd option) via WiFi as it’s the more efficient way. Drawback - the battery doesn’t last as long as previous generations; unless you keep it in the cradle after each day of use. (Disclaimer - constant battery charge will weaken the battery life overtime) Overall - the Harmony Elite does all it’s been advertised to do very well and more (compliments from friends).

Best Remote Ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is hands down the best remote I have purchased. I have everything in my home entertainment system connected even my new Apple TV gen4, which the remote works perfect with. So far I am operating Vizio, Samsung, Denon, Motorola, Apple, GE, and SmartThings. This remote does it all. I highly recommend if you only want to have one remote to control everything. It takes a little while to set it up with all your devices, but take the time and you won't regret it.

Controls All My Devices
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a TV stereo cabinet that contains numerous separate A/V devices (TV, Blu-Ray player, receiver, additional FM and TV tuners, DVR, Roku, etc.). Some of these items are nearing 10 years old, while others have been purchased in the last 1-3 years. I wanted a remote that would control them all, whether they be infra-red or RF operated. I also wanted something where I did not have to worry too much about being near the equipment (a problem with my old Logitech remote). The Harmony Elite comes with a separate wi-fi hub and two wired IR transmitters that can be positioned in different places. This mostly eliminates the problem of devices not turing on-or off as programmed. The transmitters are small and they are dark colored, so you do not notice them unless you are close to the equipment. It took a while to fine tune some of the settings (push button commands, etc.) and I am still making some occasional adjustments. Some patience is required to get things "exactly right". But overall, I am very satisfied. This is the Logitech remote that I wanted all along (I have owned several less expensive models) with all the features that are needed to easily run multiple components. If you have a large system with multiple components, it just works better than the cheaper harmony remotes. There is some included software that integrates the remote with your smartphone. I chose not to install this software because the basic remote satisfactory operated most of my components. I only have one component that requires use of a smartphone. However, the Logitech remote can do 90% of what I need for that component so use of the smartphone is not required that often. The battery seems to run out of juice quicker than my old Harmony remote. But I just need to remember to put the remote in the charger when I'm not using it.

Should have been my first choice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.During the build of my new house about 1 year ago, one of the options was for a (supposedly) super convenient, easy to use, do-it-all home theater control system from a local dealer/installer. I thought about it and after doing research on the product (Con-trol-4), i thought it was a pretty good choice and decided to buy it. Fast forward to getting the unit/remote/etc installed, configured, and working...nope...not even close. I think the product works provided all of the dealer installed configurations are done properly. In my case, it never worked properly and did not even come close to meeting my expectations...just sadness. So, being a handy tech guy, i thought to get the next best thing that i could configure/modify/upgrade myself. that would be the Logitech remote and hub...at roughly 1/5 the cost of the Con-trol-4 solution, i was able to very easily set up the Logitech hub and remote, lights (sweet bonus!), projector, Wii, XBox, etc. and configure voice control via Alexa and control my entire home theater in a couple of sessions and make ongoing tweaks as needed. This is the way it is supposed to work! Everything is very easy to change to meet any sort of needs for a custom theater (I have 8 devices) or for just a single TV. Very well done, Logitech! Right now, this is the best product around for (home) theater automation and Alexa integration. For the initial price and ongoing costs to integrate other services, it kicks all of the custom installation options to the curb. The hub is the coolest part of the product, since it emits IR/bluetooth/WiFi signals from itself to control your devices AND there are 2 IR emitter jacks for controlling devices behind doors or in an AV closet or another room (long headphone jack required). Very nicely done. The hub is small, slim and unobtrusive on the shelf near my TV (see the pics). If you are needing to automate devices and want to configure the whole thing yourself (pretty easy to do), then either get the standalone hub or the remote and hub and you will be very happy. This works wonders and its very cool to control all of the devices via the handheld remote or with your voice! Enjoy!

All the bells and whistles for experienced user
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not a professional Harmony user before purchasing the Elite. The remote sits nice in the hand. Very well balanced and the textured back feels good. I'm not usually a fan of remotes with screens but given that you can do most anything with the physical buttons, the mobile app or your voice (Both Alexa and Google Assistant), it was not a problem and often was helpful. I found the initial setup a breeze. The remote scans your network for devices and then gives you the option of adding those devices. Then, it immediately asks you to setup an activity for the devices. This is great but not for someone who's new to the Harmony systems or to cord cutters like myself. For instance, we have 5 TCL 4k Roku TVs. Harmony found them all eventually. If you add all of them to the remote, I often found that I would pick up the remote to modify the sound but it was on a different device and so the volume wouldn't work until I set focus to the specific TV. I will be removing all devices that are not pertitent to the room the remote was meant for and then buy the Harmony Companion remotes for the bedrooms. They do offer less functionality (no screen, less activities allowed, etc.) But it supports Smart Home functionality with dedicated buttons that can be programmed to anything you want. All and all, if you have the spare cash, you can't go wrong with the Logitech Harmony Elite but if you're a bit more budget conscious and don't need the screen or a few items, The Logitech Harmony Companion may be the way to go.

Harmony hub
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needs more options in the settings area. Adding Activities is a bit confusing. Can't seem to pick up my sound bar each scan, which is both wireless and Bluetooth. Too much for the product if it's not going to do what it says it can do.

Q: Questiondoes the remote and the hub need wifi to work with deviceslike to control tv or dvd player does it need wifi
Asked by Tate.
- A:Answer Yes, during initial setup you will need to set up the hub to connect to your WiFi network. The remote will use RF to communicate with the hub, but the Harmony apps will connect to the Hub!

Q: QuestionDoes this remote work with LG Smart TVCan I replace the LG Smart TV Remote and use the Logitech Harmony Elite to perform all of the same functions as the LGremote?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It works for the most part but it very buggy, Logitech is a great company but they fall short on the latest products and maybe in future they will keep improving it. I think this Elite remote does not deserve to be bought. I have 2 LG TVs and it was frustrating to say the least. It was frustrating to use it with any thing. You have to use your phone and your computer at times and there are many firmware updates and too many moving parts for a simple remote. Your LG remote will do the basics. Your cable remote will do most of those as well. You have to ask yourself if you really want to go thru this. Save 300-or 350/- You can read my complete review on this product. I returned it.

Q: Questioni have a harmony 900. can i download all my current settings to the elite? I do not want to do all the setup again and have on a computer
Asked by Patrick D.
- A:Answer Yes, when you are first setting up the remote, the software asks you if you want to copy the settings from another remote. As long as you know the login info for your 900, you will be good to go.

Q: QuestionOther RoomsWill this remote control components located behind a wall? The TV is mounted on the family room wall but all components, including BluRay, direcTV box etc are on the other side of the wall under the stairs.
Asked by repnice.
- A:Answer Yes. All my components are in the basement under my family room and all commands are taken by the hub via RF, not IR. The hub then emits IR via little IR blasters that are wired to the hub. You WILL need to be able to route one of the blasters to your TV so it can emit IR to control it.

Q: QuestionWill this work with a comcast/Xfinity DVR?
Asked by toddman199.
- A:Answer Check their website. You can input all of your devices in their database and you will get a complete list of what will work. It will tell you if it uses Bluetooth or IR & if the remote has any known hiccups such as: what functions will only work with the original remote.
