True Universal Experience!
Posted .I've had universal remotes before but they all were lacking some functions or wouldn't control certain devices. Well this remote does every device I have and then some. I was impressed with how well it handled each task. For instance... It turns on my cable box, receiver and TV with the touch of 1 button. But it does not just turn on the devices with 1 click... it will turn on your home theater in any sequence you prefer, set all inputs to their proper setting, set all channels to proper channel, or whatever else you need it to perform. Each activity is overly customizable via the software it comes with. It is easy to set up with basic functions. However the technical preferences some may desire could get confusing although the possibilities seem to be limitless. For advanced programming there will be a slight learning curve. I set up my remote with advanced functions for all my devices and appliances in under an hour. The online support for all of the logitech remotes is also amazing. On top of these great functions and capabilities the remote has a fairly decent LCD touchscreen for any amount of device specific softkeys. You can truly build your own layout and keys. Just an amazing concept. The battery in the remote is a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The remote sits in a sleek cradle that charges the battery. It's bizarre to have only one remote at all times. This remote will also control automated appliances. My air conditioner remote is also a thing of the past. I can't say enough good things about this remote. It's an all inclusive experience and just when you think you can stump the remote it gladly welcomes the challenge. FYI It perfectly handles my cablevision DVR unit. Also if certain functions are not available for your remote you could actually build your own button and have it mimic any button on the original device remote. So awesome.

Superb solution for the remotes control cluster!
Posted .Logitech's "The One" universal remote control sticks to the name. It single handily resolved our home issues with 3+ remotes to manipulate our LED TV, Cable DVR box, Blu-Ray Home Theater and Xbox 360 device. It is easy to set up, all you have to do is READ and FOLOW the instructions on the CD-ROM software and it will guide you through. My wife loves it; and I even went online and customized the images for all our favorite channels. I know some people may think twice to invest the money on this device, but if you are considering this particular model, looks no further. Just separate a good 1 or 1 and 1/2 hours of your weekend to set it up. Do not expect MAGIC, it will do as much as you program it to do and then some; I made it learn a command that was not easily accessible from our Cable DVR box and it works like a charm! Battery wise is long lasting and depends, of course, of how many people manage the device in your household. You can leave it on the cradle every night after you are done using it and it will save you the trouble of worrying for charging it. Anyway, this is one good product to go after… And trust me I read reviews and compare a lot before I make up my mind, this was a very good decision to make.

Handled all of our equipment flawlessly.
Posted .This is our third Harmony One unit, one each for 3 different video installations in our home. All worked perfectly the first time we set them up using the easy interface from our PC to the Harmony remote. Even a 6 year old Samsung HDTV worked without a problem as did the newest model Sony BluRay WiFi unit. The "Help" function on the remote also recovers for you in case you don't hold the unit toward your equipment during the 1 to 3 second start up time (like when your kid runs in front of you while you're turning on the units). Prior to these three Harmony units, we had an older model which took 5 years of abuse without a single hiccup. Charger is good looking and convenient. If you have concealed equipment, Logitech also makes an RF unit that we would recommend.

"We are sorry" message
Posted .I tried to create an account and I received the following message from the Logitech website: "Many people like you are excited to set up their new remotes, so we're experiencing a high volume of traffic. Please try again later. Thank you for your patience." I paid $150.00 for a remote that I cannot use/setup because Logitech does not have a large enough server. I'm sure it's a great remote once I'm able to set it up.

Logitech Harmony One is Awesome!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendFinally broke down and purchased the Harmony One Remote by Logitech. The Best Buy store matched the On-line price of $159.99 Yes, that sounds like a lot of money but here is what this remote will do: First, it replaces up to 15 seperate remotes. And second: You can program it to do up to 5 macros. What does that mean? Glad you asked. A macro is a program that tells the remote what to do for a specific task. Here is how I set mine up. For my pieces I have a 47" HD television set. A samsung DVD player. A Comcast Cable Scientific Fisher w/DVR. A Vizio Soundbar. You plug the Harmony One remote via USB to your computer and tell it what you have and it asks you for the model number of each piece. This is where you can have up to 15 items. Next is where the macros come to play. With the 4 pieces of equipment I entered, the remote now knows that all I do is watch TV/DVR or watch a movie using the DVD player. It asks me when I watch TV do I want to use the soundbar for the volume or the TV volume. I chose Soundbar. It then asks, do I want the Comcast HD box to always be left on and I said No. It then says, when I select "Watch TV", the television turns on, the Comcast HD box turns on and the Soundbar turns on. The soundbar is now controlled via the remote volume. Same principle applies when I want to watch a movie using my DVR. When I select "Watch DVD", the television turns on, the DVD player turns on and the soundbar turns on. I now have 1 remote that replaced the other 4. Remember, I am only using 2 macros so I still have 3 left for future purchases. You can even set the remote up to dim your lights, turn on your gas logs, etc...

The best remote!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've only written 1 or 2 product reviews in my life and I'm a gadget freak! All that means is that I'm difficult to impress when it comes to gadgets like this. I've had this remote for 2 years now. I've tried several universal remotes (both full touch screen and raised button#. Touch screen remotes require that you look at the remote to operate it, while raised button remotes allow you to perform "no look" functions because you know and can feel the location of the buttons. Most of you probaly operate your remote without looking at it #for most functions). This remote combines the best of both and places the commands in intuitive easy-to-reach locations. When you choose a function such as watch TV, the remote "becomes" a TV remote. When you watch a DVD, it becomes the DVD remote. The touch screen also changes with each function and you can program the touch screen buttons to do pretty much whatever you want! Setup is a breeze with the computer software - just choose your equipment and it essentially sets up itself. The remote will then turn on all of the required devices and turn off all of the devices not required for that function. For instance, when I listen to FM, only the receiver is on. When I push watch TV, it turns on my TV and cable box, then sets my receiver and TV to the right input. If something doesn't get turned on right, press the "help" button. It will ask: Is the cable box on? #answer yes/no: yes->#, is the receiver on? #yes# Is the TV on? #yes#, is the TV set to Input 1? #no#... Now is the TV set to input 1 #yes#, did that fix the problem YES!!! Like I said it couldn't be easier to operate. My kids, wife, and even my parents can operate the remote very easily without having to know what needs to be on and how the settings/inputs should be configured. I would 100% without a doubt recommend this remote to anyone. I love this remote #perhaps too much!# :)

Great Romote
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendTook home and replaced seven remotes! I have two tv's and hd cable boxes in my entertainment center this remote controls both with no issues. I also got the PS3 extender and it works as it says. Also, I run windows 7 and had no issues with the software setup at all. You can also edit the names of your activities as well as program actual channels (with images of the network) right on the remote. Worth the $.

Universal Remote that does it all
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI did my research before I bought the Logitech Harmony One. Without a doubt the reviews said go with this remote, and I am not disappointed I did. It's very easy to setup once you have collected the model numbers for all your devices. Programming the remote with the provided Logitech software took about 30 minutes, but the setup instructions are really easy to follow. You just enter your device model numbers, answer a few questions regarding your current device settings, plug in the remote via a USB port, and wait a few minutes while the remote is configured for you. I've been able to replace 5 remotes with one. I have my Samsung LED LCD 3D TV, Samsung BluRay player, Sony soundbar, DirecTV HD-DVR & PS2 all configured into this remote. With on tap on the touchscreen I am able to watch whatever I want in seconds. I bought this remote on Black Friday & got a great deal. No regrets, and have already recommended the remote to others.
