I initially owned an iPad keyboard (the ONLY ONE that is of the backlit keys type brand - which BB indeed used to sell for my generation of iPad) and after about a year it stopped charging. I cannot stand to use the 'on screen keyboards' - I was going crazy having to do so. So I went shopping at my local BB for another keyboard - and found that they are limiting iPad2 (4th Gen Retina) keyboards for sale any longer. Seems the "Airs" and "Minis" are the best sellers so BB is catering to those units more-so than my old (OLD?) iPad with Retina 4th Gen. (In other words, they didn't carry iPad 4th Gen keyboards at my local store. Or for some reason were out-of-stock of ALL keyboards for that model iPad? Doesn't seem likely to me, though.) They had ONLY this particular LogiTech one left in stock. So I bought the last one they had. It wasn't 2 weeks withOUT the "backlit" keys that I went and ordered another one of "those brands" that offer the backlit keys. Too, I'm a 'touch typist' and the "backlit brand" keys-layout is far better for me. More "real" qwerty keyboard-like than this LogiTech version. i.e. The "tab" key, (used quite a bit) is in the right place as it is on "real" keyboards and works by itself. (What do I mean by that statement?) On the Logitech, you have to hold a function key if you want to use the tab key. (That's only ONE example - same issue with the "volume" keys.) I'm a 'professional' user - I can only assume with most (other) "simple" end-users, they're using their tablets as social media tools these days _only_ or _mostly_ and a little web-surfing, they're not really writing anything anyway. (they get tired after typing 3, 4, or 5 lines) If you're one of those "casual" or social-media ONLY type user; The Logitech will do the job. While I was disappointed my (1st) backlit-brand keyboard after only 1 year failed, (likely the warranty period PLUS 1 day) after using the LogiTech and having to use (practically) two hands to turn the volume down and/or the tap the 'tab' key - would I recommend you check other keyboards out, 1st. Especially if you're of the touch typist kind of user. Ohhh...and did I mention having a 'backlit' keyboard gives you such an added convenience, you'll wonder why you bought a keyboard without that feature. (Logitech, put some leds behind those keys so you can see them in low/dark lighted areas.) In all fairness, the Logitech has a tougher "feel" to it, giving me the impression it's made of a higher grade material. BOTH keyboards has only one (1!) 'angle' for your display, so nothing worthy to note about that. Though the Logitech uses magnets to hold your iPad in place/at it's (only one) angle the 'back-lit-keys' branded one actually uses an indentation which too has only ONE angle to put your screen, it just feels more secure when it comes to holding your iPad in place. Good Luck Experimenting ...

As an active traveler, I purchased this for it's very compact design and ease of use. I think this is one of THE BEST case/keyboard combination that protects your iPad very well. Overall I'm pleased with the unit with the following minor quibbles: It adds quite a bit of weight to the overall iPad -- it's got batteries, people, so expect a substantial increase in weight. The home key is placed in an awkward location next to the number one key and sometimes gets bashed when reaching for the number one causing the iPad to go home while typing -- small annoyance. The Bluetooth keyboard automatically connects when the iPad is propped up for typing -- this is fantastic. When you fold the iPad flat, the keys are disabled -- very good design function as sometimes you hold your iPad open without the keyboard exposed. The problem I've seen is that I ALSO have a Logitech 810 Keyboard that I use between the iPad and a computer. When switching to use the 810 Keyboard while the FabricSkin keyboard is active, key repeat (holding down the backspace key) is disabled -- you have to keep hitting backspace repeatedly, manually - ugh! I don't know why this is the case, maybe an iPad issue, not a keyboard issue. I haven't investigated. Plugging in the iPad VGA dongle (iPad Gen 3) into the accessory port takes a little finessing. The iPad is encased in a rubber shell and the hole for the port is very tight. Fortunately it stretches, but you have to work at it otherwise the VGA dongle will disconnect too easily. Finally, the outside material scuffs easily, too easily for my liking given the cost of the unit -- it's a premium accessory! You can wipe most scuffs away, but the scuffs return frequently in addition to being able to seeing the magnet outlines. Not a deal breaker, but certainly this could have been avoided to give the outside a cleaner look. There are other exterior choices to select from, so choose wisely.

I just bought this for my iPad 4. The key spacing is a little weird as of right now but I can already tell that that will fade with experience. The shape of the keys is a tad awkward as well, but nothing really worth mentioning. I do actually enjoy the bulkiness of the thing. It makes me feel like I own a small laptop. I don't have any problem with the angle either, which is surprising me. There is only one option available, but it seems to be fine at the angle I usually sit at when I'm relaxing. The sturdiness is something I like, and it was super easy to connect. It's not the most attractive thing in the world, and there isn't really anything you can do to customize the look of it, but whatever. For the price, it's great. The keys are very responsive and the text appears instantly with no delay, which was really my primary concern with buying one of these. The loop for a stylus is a bit tight around my Wacom Bamboo iPad Stylus, but it fits. The loop was actually a big selling point for me with this keyboard case because I carry my stylus everywhere and it's usually just loose in my purse.. This way, I know I won't lose it now. The outer case is attractive enough, and black which is cool. I have a black iPad, and I thought it would look weird with a white keyboard, but it actually looks good because the keys are black and it does look like it matches. Also, the case is nice because it doesn't block the cameras. All in all, I'm glad I bought this product. This entire review was typed on it, and it worked great. If it were more attractive, backlit, and had multiple screen angles, I would have given it five stars.

I've owned this case about 2 mos. it's a really secure case to protect the screen and back of iPad, easel for upright viewing but only 1 angle position, or when case is open can fold it flat onto the keyboard to hold in both hands for viewing photos, reading, etc. -this was an important feature for me which i'm very happy about, keyboard has super long battery life and key touch is the right sensitivity, however if you were doing lots of document typing a more raised keypad may be more preferred for some but it's worked great for even lengthy email composition, keypad feel is smooth and quiet-no plastic clicking sounds, there were a few case color and surface choices but i choose dark brown/black with faux suede feel, it wipes off easy and i 'customized' it with adhesive butterfly stickers. When closing it does put the screen in sleep mode, when opening and putting screen onto the upright easel it automatically turns on the keyboard when the green light illuminates. GREAT PURCHASE and PRODUCT!

I am so happy that I found this keyboard for my IPad! It is exactly what I needed. I can use the keyboard with the iPad standing up, laptop style, or can easily fold the keyboard behind it out of the way pretty flat if I want to just use the screen or screen keyboard. It pairs easily with the bluetooth, although I do have to toggle on the on/off button, but it matches up immediately. I have had it for about 6 weeks and I have yet to charge it. The case holds the iPad safely & snug and closes smoothly and solidly. It protects my iPad well. I also like the feel of the keys, soft and responsive, similar to most of my Mac keyboards. For some people it may be a bit heavy when combined with the iPad but I do not find this to be any sort of a problem. I actually appreciate the solid feel without it being bulky. The best part is being able to quickly fold it away to use the screen with having to unattach anything. No magnets to hold it on. There is a magnet that locks the iPad in it's standing up position and it is solid without being too strong. I looked at several different keyboards before buying this one and I don't give a lot of reviews of things (I am hard to please) but I do need to say that this product exceeded my expectations. Everyone who sees it asks me about and I can't say enough about it.

I've strugled with every other cover/case I've had. THis one solved every complaint that I had about the others... I had the smart cover and snap on plastic protector, it protected it from scratches and that was it. (Droped it from under my arm and smashed a corner of my pad) The protective cases are bulky and come to the edge of the screen making it dificult to use the edge somtimes I had another popular brand of case/keyboard and it was bulky and I kept letting the battery die and it was inconvienent to carry around and use it on the go so I kept having to switch back and forth and found myself without the keyboard when I wanted it more often than not. This one is barly larger than a folio cover and allows me to fold the cover al the way back so I can carry the pad around my jobsites. Also there is a magnet that auto turns on/off the keyboard when oyu set it up so you can't forget to turn it off. It also has a magnet to turn off the pad when closed. The keys are sealed so it is highly spill resistant and cleans with a wet cloth. I use this almost everyday and have only charged it once in 8+ weeks. The rubber inside case offers excelent protection and barley coveres any of the glass face when open I showed this off at work the day after I bought it and three coworkers went to Best Buy @ lunch and bought them the same day.

I have a previous bluetooth keyboard for my iPad, and this one has pros and cons compared to the other (Zagg folio). Unlike the Zagg, the bluetooth keyboard immediately overtakes the onscreen keyboard as soon as it is set up; you don't have the delay associated with the other. Since this keyboard uses a magnet to hold the iPad in position, it doesn't slip out of place when you move it around as easily as others do. The battery life on the Logitech keyboard is very good, but not as good as the Zagg. Finally, and perhaps most important, the layout of the keys is a little non-standard. I frequently hit the wrong key, particularly the letter keys that have dual functions. My fingers just don't find the keys where they should be. I have learned to work with it. All in all, it's a decent keyboard that does what it is supposed to do. I would love it if someone would figure out that the sound from the small iPad speaker could be much louder if they would include a small deflector on the keyboard case to direct the sound toward the user. I get tired of cupping my hand near the speaker (goes for all iPad cases/keyboards!)

Great iPad cover & keyboard Combo

I find this case/Keyboard combo to work well for me. I would have given it a 5 star ratting if it wasn't for the fact that it really makes my iPad feel twice as heavy as without the combo installed. Plus the keyboard section is just as thick as the iPad. Put that and the actual case portion all together and you have a whole unit probably more than two times thicker than just the iPad by itself. Also when everything is closed up the surface doesn't offer a very good grip in your hands. I have dropped my iPad several times since I've installed the combo. All that said, I'll still think it's a pretty good product. I love the built in "always handy" keyboard and the way it allows me to prop my iPad up in my lap or a flat surface. I don't think I would care for one of the keyboards that is a separate unit from the iPad. As mentioned, I've dropped my iPad several times since my combo purchase, but so far nothing is worse for the wear. Like with most things there are both pros and cons. For me, so far anyway, the pros outweigh the cons.
