5Logitech USB desktop microphone
PostedcomputerboyMember
I'm writing this review using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11.5 Premium. As a long-time user, I have tried many microphones (I mean headsets), but I found that Logitech USB desktop microphone is the best. It sits about half a foot away and I speak directly to it. Outside my door, the construction workers are working on the other unit's kitchen - even a lot of noise in the background doesn't seem to change its accuracy. I like the lighted power button on the stand since I leave my microphone plugged into the computer. So far, the program has not made any mistake. I got tired of wearing a headphone, and I have tried wireless headphone, as well. This seems to be the best option for me so far. One thing you need to do if the input level is too low, is to right-click the speaker icon on the bottom of your screen and choose recording device and increase the volume control. I set mine up to about 90%. I also use this microphone for Skype and there is no feedback whatsoever. One thing I'm afraid of is that I can poke my eye out if I get too close to it. What I did was I tied a white ribbon onto the body of the microphone. Here is a video that I recorded for a friend http://www.flickr.com/photos/little_pooky/6757281499/in/photostream And yes Dragon NaturallySpeaking knows how to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

3Great Microphone for Skype
PostedSha2010While this is a great microphone for skype and works well for conference calls, it is only mediocre for use in recording which is why I purchased it in the first place. As it is not a headset, it is hard to keep the voice levels at the same volume. If a user is recording eLearning audio and doesn't have a software to automatically adjust the audio volume in the finished product, the user will have to use their best judgement when it comes to the recording quality. While it does not pick up background noises, the recordings do sound a bit like the user is on a speakerphone, especially if you do not have a sound proof recording room. I would purchase it again for the price and for use with Skype and conference calls but I would go with a headset in the future for audio recordings.

3Good Sound Bad Software
PostedGp800r33You might have problems with this microphone if you have windows vista. It took me an hour to get it working with my windows vista premium. There's a sticker on the box that says it works with vista but there's nothing in the set of instructions mentioning windows vista. I finally got it to work but I don't have any control of the devices sound settings because it's not completely recognized by my computer. There are no updates for the device at logitech.com either so don't waste your time going there. If your not getting any sound try this. Go to control panel and click the icon for sounds. Click recording. Click microphone. Then click set default and you should be good to go. I wish the set of instructions told me this because I wouldn't have wasted an hour trying to get it to work.

5Very Happy With This Product
PostedRichC1968I needed a USB microphone and I'm very happy with the quality of this product. The base is study and has rubber feet to help it stay in place. The green "on" light is a nice touch too. The recorded sound is crystal clear. If you're looking for a microphone for Skype or other VoIP system this should be great. I'm doing narration for screen captures and it looks like I may need to hold the mic to get it closer to my mouth and get rid of that "speakerphone" distance sound feel. Overall, a great product for the price. I normally don't write reviews but this product is worth taking a minute to come back and review.

5Great Mic. Plug and Play almost perfect.
PostedSiskorayThis is a great durable simple to use microphone. Also very sensative so there is some tweeking to be done in software when using it. I used it for both gaming and sound/music mixing and in both instances there was seemless no problem performance. I can't tell you how many times I have had to pull the mic from out of my web of cords and each time never worried about wear and tear like regular 8mm mics. Only in one instance when using Sound Forge did I have a problem with the software not recognizing the mic, however, when I used it again months later I took a chance and for some reason it reconized it. Highly recommend.

5Great Table Microphone
PostedMyles889This Microphone is excellent. I have had it for over a year now and it is in perfect condition. People say that it does not pic up enough sound. This i had the same problem for 2 minutes until i turned it up with volume controls. I wasn't quite sure if it would work well, but i bought it because my friend had it. So for all of you who say is does not pick up your voice, TRY TO FIND OUT HOW TO TURN IT UP. Very easy for Windows Vista. Good Gaming and talking mic. I would not recommend it if your listening to music and using it, or if a dog is barking ect. Overall this mic has been wonderful to use.

5Your best buy for a microphone at best buy.
PostedWut15Disappointed with my previous microphone, I asked my grandma and auntie if they would buy a new one for me. They said the price must be under 40$. The microphone itself is very easy to use. Just put it in, turn it on, and your done! The sound quality is very clear and unlike my old microphone, comprehensible. Also it has range due to its USB cord. If you're looking for a microphone that is not overpriced, but still useful, this would be an excellent option for any beginners. You'll love it.

5Great!
PostedDanWI am using the microphone with a Mac G5 & Quicktime Pro. I couldn't be more pleased. It works great. The sound quality is awesome. I highly recommend it. I have tried other microphones, and this one is by far the best. I am glad I bought it because of the usb input. It took one click to set it up in the system settings/sound panel. Other reviewers complained about the volume being too soft but I didn't have that problem. I adjusted the volume in sound panel and actually had to turn it down because my files were playing back too loud.
