The MFer is back and that's a good thingPosted .
I've watched every LoTD DVD produced. I own them all. When word came out about the new LoTD 3D DVD, I bought it even though I do not own a 3D TV. The show is the same. I was happy to see MF back again in his title role with Bernie Flynn-O'kane dancing as the leading lady. One disappointment was that Bernie's real life husband Damien O'kane was not in this production. The costumes are better and the dancing is kicked up a notch. The dancers are smaller in numbers but you'd never know it by the way they dance. Tom Cunningham is back as the Dark Lord and some new woman I don't know dances as the Temptress. One thing I did find with this DVD was that all of Erin the Goddess's songs are not featured in this concert, rather they plus Siamsa, are included in the deleted scenes portion. The behind the scenes feature wasn't really that impressive as all it consisted of was the producer talking about how they had to make changes for filming in 3D. I would have loved more from the MFer as to why he came back and how he's doing still dancing after the original LoTD release some 15+ years ago. I like the DVD. It's the MFer dancing and let's face it, there isn't a better Irish step dancer in the world than him.I would recommend this to a friend

We didn't like this version of Lord of the Dance.Posted .
This new version of Lord of the Dance is too high-tech and that takes away from being able to really watch some of the dancing. I didn't like that they used screens with unrelated content flashing at you during the show. Michael Flatley should have left well enough alone. No, I would not recommend this to a friend
