    The Panther is back!

This new album by Steel Panther shows a new style with more modern sounding song elements while still keeping that classic "Hair Metal" sound. Satchel's guitar solos are killer, Stix sounds awesome and Lexxi gets some serious attention on some tasty bass licks. Michael lets out some screams that rival DLR on his best day - good stuff. The song selection is the usual mixed bag of hard rockers with some ballad-type songs sprinkled in. The 2 bonus tracks included with the exclusive disc are OK but not their best songs. Red Headed Step Child feels like a Zeppelin-Kashmir cover. Some favorite tracks... 1. Goin' in the back door 2. Now the fun starts 3. I got what you want 4. She's Tight (Cheap Trick cover) Can't wait for the 2017 Girls In A Row tour to hit N. California!

So, Upon listening to these practical Rockjokers, the pattern is not what most might be thinking. it's kinda to bad too. They have to talent to break free from the Spinal Tap (but better) persona. I guess the good thing is they are sticking to what they do best. Unfortunately this isn't their best. If this Release were Steel Panther doing cover tunes with some NEW stuff, it would have been better to listen to, but it is a done deal so... If yer a Fanther then buying it isn't the worst thing, it helps complete the current collection. If you're new to the band, don't start with this...or maybe start with this and go backwards...theeen you won't be disappointed. So, take this as you see fit. YouTube has a lot of the songs to checkout before u buy

If you are a fan of Steel Panther (Fanther), then I presume you already picked this up - no review necessary. Perhaps you are a fan, are very very busy, haven't had the time to pick it up yet, and curious. So, here we are. That's nice. Instead of reading this, go buy it! The mix is extremely polished on this SP offering. Almost too perfect for me (my personal preference is the rawness of "Feel the Steel"). Anyway, typical SP musicianship, perhaps a touch of more complex song writing (well done, boys!), and lyrics that can crack you up. Enjoy!

Beavis and Bud head really do have a rock band, and this is it. When it comes to the finish of the work, it's very technically solid with great production - and these guys really are talented, even if they stick to the junior high school locker room lyrics. The surprise was a great cover of a Cheap Trick tune. The rest is classic Steel Panther and I really wonder what heights this group could reach if they grew up and graduated to real lyrics.

I wasn't sure of what to think with this one the initial time that I listened to it ,but now after a few more times through, I'm really liking it. Great songwriting in their typical style and they are very good musicians under all the crazy lyrics and make-up. This album shows their musical talent and is this parody style is still fun to hear, even after all their previous efforts. (i.e. - not the same stuff over and over)

Being their fourth major release, it is probably my least favorite. Not sure if they have lost their shock or that I've become numb to it, but the lyrics aren't as good as previous releases. There are some diamond tracks on here, but as a whole, it's my least favorite. That being said, I do not regret my purchase whatsoever. It's a great album for the band. This Best Buy exclusive version has two bonus tracks.

Great Songs, But Fell Victim To Loudness War

I love the songs on this release. Every one is well written and performed. I wouldn't say there's a bad song on the disc. However the mastering leaves a lot to be desired. There's no dynamic range at all on this release - just a wall of sound. This stuff isn't going to be played on the radio anyway so I don't know why they master for loudness. The cover is neat and the bonus tracks are both great.

Steel Panther's 4th release finds them struggling to keep up with their creativity from the past. I personally expected more on this one, yet, there's about 2-3 really good songs and a lot of filler. No great songs in my opinion. As a collector, I had to purchase Lower the Bar, but I suggest their previous releases. Best Buy has an exclusive version with bonus and a neat holographic cd cover.
