After one false start (defective earpiece, batteries not fresh) the replacements are turning out to be not half bad. They're tiny, so opening and closing the battery door to turn them on and off and toggling the switch take practice. (And that matters; if you don't have both sides on the same setting, the sound is unbalanced.) But now I'm getting clear sound at appropriate volume. As I said they ARE tiny, so be careful they don't fall out, as almost happened to me the other night.
