I’ll start by saying that I work in an area where noise easily can reach 100db. I found that the included foam earplugs provide just enough noise reduction to make them dependable for hearing protection around loud engines. I opted for the standard fit that are already on. It comes with a smaller and bigger foam plugs for you to try. They were surprisingly comfortable and I did not have to fiddle with them too much to get them into my ears. However I did feel like the control modules are a little too big. Your usage may vary but the cable isn’t the longest and I could feel the controls rubbing against my next neck when I turned my head in either direction. The cable itself is braided and did not irritate my skin when wearing for long periods. One on side you have the on / off button and volume control. On the other side you have the on off switch for the built in mic and volume control. I thought it was a neat feature. I’m not allowed to listen to music while I’m working but having a separate on off switch for the mic is cool. When someone came to talk to me, I flip on the switch and it will amplify the persons voice so you can hear them clearly without needing to remove the earplugs. I was able to hear my coworker asking for something clearly from about 30 feet away even though there was some loud noise going on. I didn’t like the way the ambient voice / sound microphone sounds while music is playing so I pause the music or just completely turn it off when I plan on using them for the voice / mic feature. Sound quality is better than I expected out of these.they won’t blow your mind away but I would say that they are good enough for casual music listening. I tend to listen to podcasts on my downtime and these are good enough. They sound a little on the flat side of the EQ spectrum. Not much bass, and just enough treble to balance the mids. But if you’re more concerned with hearing protection, then this is a good thing. After all, you don’t want to drown out everything completely if you plan on using these for safety purposes. All in all, I think they are a decent value, if you are looking for decent hearing protection and the ability to listen to audio and ambient voices / sounds. If you plan on using these at work, check with your employer before hand. I know some places won’t allow them because of the Bluetooth feature.

Love the idea of the buds, but for me the execution is a little off. Sound Quality is good and the sound filtering is good, but there is some feedback with the sound filtering turned on. Changing the level just can decrease the feedback (lower = less noticeable) but it doesn't ever go away and decreasing the filter level lets in more sound Dampening I'm a little confused as to how much dampening the buds are able to do. The packaging says 40 decibel on the front and 25 decibel on the back. Same with BB webpage and manufacturer webpage overview. Fit Unfortunately for my ear canals, the foam tips are still too big even with the smallest ones included. The tips are not as “spongy” as a pair of traditional ear plugs, so they cannot compress as much. When compressed they expand quite rapidly, which means they cannot really conform to your ear canal and consequently for me, they begin to push themselves out of my ear. I think the best change would be if they were more pliable like a traditional set of foam ear plugs. Notes The length of the setup us just a tad short to be able to put behind the neck, which would also put the controls out of reach. Looped under the neck, it does kind of hang there, but there is a clip included to help keep them closer to the chest. However I couldn't get a good position to keep the controls nearby and also keep from pulling the buds out of my ear when turning my head. Again it didn't help that they don't fit me completely either. Pro Tip- the Bluetooth button turns the buds on and off, HOWEVER, the Ambient pass through is controlled with a physical switch. This also has to be turned off or it will drain the battery. If Bluetooth is off the Ambient pass through is also off, but the switch doesn't recognize that it will drain the battery. Out of the box the battery percentage was at 70. Used for 2 hours with mixed usage of calls, music, and Ambient On/Off and it still said 70% after 2 hours. Next day went to use and would not turn on. Noticed the switch was on, charged up via PC USB port and 2 hours later were fully charged. Controls are easy to learn but the instructions didn't mention the Ambient switch still drawing power if left on when buds are powered off. Not a big deal...IF you don't forget.

I am a DIY, and I like to make many home improvements. Working around the house using these earphones, I protect my ear, and I can enable ambient sound to hear my surrounding. I frequently use foam earplugs at home for day naps and night sleep, so using earphones that use foam ear tips isn’t an issue. The foam is super soft, which helps them stay in your ear and no irritation. The foam also does an excellent job of blocking ambient noise. I use it a lot when using loud lawn equipment or power tools. The sound quality of audio and phone calls is pretty good. When someone approaches me to talk to me, I don't need to take them off; I use the awareness mode control to switch on the ambient noise. I can adjust the ambient noise volume depending on the background noise level. Battery life is good, recharges fast, and lasts a couple of hours. Compared to traditional noise protection earmuffs, these earphones are much better. They are comfortable to wear, don’t fall or move around, significantly cut out background noise, easily turn on/off ambient noise, enjoy listening to music, and are suitable for hands-free phone calls. Overall, I am satisfied with these new earphones.
