Lucky Number Slevin
An innocent man visiting a friend in New York City becomes embroiled in a dangerous series of events after being mistaken for the very man he has come to the city to see in director Paul McGuigan's labyrinthine murder mystery. Upon arriving at the empty apartment of his old friend Nick, the unassuming Slevin (Josh Hartnett) is troubled to hear the voice of his missing friend's next door neighbor Lindsay (Lucy Liu) expressing concern as to Nick's safety and whereabouts. When Slevin ventures into Lindsay's apartment only to be greeted by the uninviting fist of a thuggish mob henchman, he quickly realizes that Nick is indeed in grave danger. Soon summoned by the big boss and accused of being the deeply indebted Nick, Slevin's attempts to prove his identity are foiled by the fact that his wallet had been stolen upon arrival in the city. With time running out and a complex plot to assassinate one of the city's most powerful crime bosses slowly coming into focus, the arrival of a notorious hit-man named Mr. Goodkat (Bruce Willis) forces Slevin to step up his desperate search and reclaim his identity before he's forced to pay a debt that could cost him his life. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The Best Banter of All Time

Banter. That's what makes this movie what it is; and it is amazing. Intelletigent, quick, and off the wall - Lucky Number Slevin has everything you ever wanted a mobster movie to have. Centered around a mysterious young man named Slevin, the plot follows his outlandish, sudden, and uncontrollable journey into the underground of a city run by two mob bosses. Every step he takes seems to bring him closer to his own impending doom, and the thrill don't stop until the very end, a remarkable trait when it comes to mob movies. However, what truly makes this movie incredible is how the story is told, not the story itself. There are tons of movies out there about mobsters, but how many mobster movies (serious mobster movies) can you say that you laughed most of the way through? This movie holds some of the most clever lines and amazing conversational acting that will stimulate even the most deep-thinker's philisophical outlook on life. Like a "Pirates of the Caribbean" for adults (this movie, by the way, is not one for the kids) it has action, drama, suspense, romance, and laughs right to the very end. A necessity, plain and simple.

    Very entertaining

This movie is about Slevin who gets mistaken for being his freind who owes alot of money. Once he explains that he doesn't have the money he is forced to work off the debt by killing someone for a gang leader. This movie is sort of like a crime drama but there is more humor in this movie than most other crime dramas. It has a much less serious feel to it. Also I thought Josh Hartnett did a great job for someone being in an awful situation like that but he still had a pretty good sense of humor too. This movie is very entertaining and it's a film I could watch it over and over again.

This is probably my favorite movie. This movie has an amazing cast, story and director. I love the mixture of comedy, action and the overall entertainment value. What is most impressive is the vocabulary that is used. I don't think I realized the total amount of subtle comments that the characters were making the 1st time I watched it but I pick up on more and more things every time I watch it again. Absolutely recommended!

I am a big fan of Josh. As much as possible, I wanted to collect all his movies on DVD. And with the price that Bestbuy is offering for this one, it's really awesome! And another thing I liked about Bestbuy is their delivery. I am in San Francisco, CA and the shipment was made from Texas, and it only took 2 days for me to receive it knowing that on the email confirmation that they sent me, it will take me 5-7days delivery. That's really awesome!

    A worthwhile movie

Lucky # Slevin was an extremely good movie. It had a lot of action and a lot to make you think. Slevin had a hard time, came to visit his friend and was mistaken for him. He ended up in a lot of trouble here and his friend nowhere to be found. There is a lot of confusing parts so you really need to pay attention through the movie. They do explain it, and it does make since when they do. Very good movie and well worth watching on HD.

    Mistaken Identity

This is a good movie, but it just doesn't have any shoot'em up action. The mob bosses think that the main character Slevin(Josh Harnett) is a guy named Nick Fisher.A lot of executed mob hits in the style of Pulp Fiction.Morgan Freeman,Bruce Willis,Ben Kingsley,Lucy Liu, all do a great job in there selective roles. It may not be a shoot'em up action flick, but you got to see it for it's Twisted plot, and creative style.

keeps you confused and double guessing

At first you think you know what is what. Ten minutes later your thoughts are in another direction. This movie is unlike any I’ve seen before. Something which possibly has been done, but only very few times. If you want suspense, well here it is. If you want revenge, well it’s here too. The cast is excellent, but remember, no one and nothing is what it seems. I’d recommend this movie very highly.

This movie was not on my radar until a friend told me how good it was. He loaned it to me and I loved it, and bought it. It's a fun, modern, crime drama. Good surprises in the movie. Does not disappoint.
