Lumisource Metro Series 120 TV Stand is Beautiful

The Lumisource Metro Series 120 TV stand (52" W, 22"H, 22"D) is more impressive in the flesh than the pictures can show. The wood ends have a beautiful golden glow to them (over the cherry/teak like tone of the varnish). The rest of this review offers some helpful info about putting it together as the instructions are somewhat limited, and there are no stick on labels to match up to the labels used in the instruction diagrams. The packaging was extremely impressive with lots of solid foam "Board" sheets separating all parts. While I have seen mention that the instructions are just pictures with no words to go with them, there are really only a few things to be aware of. Here are some suggestions that should save you time. First, you have to look at the on-line picture to realize which end of the wood supports lie on the floor (the longer ones). Then you just have to realize that the holes for the bolts (to which steel frames are attached) must go toward the inside of the unit. This tells you which end is left vs. right. You should not tighten any of the bolts when attaching the three steel frames until all of them are attached. One you realize that the shelves get wider as you go from top to bottom, you know which frame to put at which height. The instructions tell you to attach them in order from the bottom toward the top.. With regard to the the section cups for the glass to ride on, be sure to press them very fully into the holes. Then they are less likely to move when sliding the glass over them. Finally, the three glass shelves are each a different size. The instruction sheet shows the depth of each shelf in Millimeters ( in the description information for each shelf -- it was the last 3-digit number ). So if you think you can't tell by eyeballing the shelves, you can measure them at their deepest point (center) and it will match the description (obviously need a ruler with metric marks). The instruction sheet does have arrows implying you should slide each shelf in from front to back "squarely" so to speak. Note: The rounded edge of each shelf goes toward the front (.even though the steel frame looks kind of rounded at the back! I don't have a lot of equipment to load onto the shelves, so I can't comment about how much room there is. But the shelves themselves are 44" wide. I have a 50" diagnonal LED TV on the top shelf and its bottom width is 44.5". But the glass is flush with the wood ends and you could put any TV on it that is up to 52" wide without overhang. There are even 6 leg leveler bolts that you attach in case you are placing this on an uneven hard floor. BTW: All screws and bolts attach with the supplied Allen wrench and all fit perfectly with no difficulty getting them atached. I assembled this by myself. (If you attempt this, when attaching the steel fame to the wood ends, I was able to sit on the floor, partially screw in one screw, then supporting the frame with one leg, you can install one diagonally across from the first screw on the other side. Then the steel frame is fully supported on its own for attaching the other 2 screws for that piece. (Do bottom shelf first). Alternatively, I suppose you could stand the wood sides on end, but then you would have to be worried not to mar the wood finish as you may wiggle the side in the course of attaching the steel frames. I suggest the approach of keeping the wood ends in normal position. When completed, the stand is very stable, and though heavy, can be slid on a rug easily for final positioning. You may want to keep it away from the wall until you install and wire in your equipment. Hope this helps!

Great product at a good price. Even better if you are using the shelves for decor. As it is all black adding coloured decor items makes it look better.

Looks nice under any tv. Packaging is another issue. Compressed popcorn creates a mess. Middle shelf glass had a crack. Waiting for Luma Source to send replacement.
