    Not The Same...

ATR have put out some very hard hitting albums in their early days. I do miss that sound. This album is a lot different but enjoyed it. If you think this album is going to be like their early albums you are wrong. They have stepped away from that sound by mixing their albums with hard rock songs. The full metal album is a thing of the past with their latest albums. This album is very different. You get some metal tracks, ballads and hard rock tracks. The music is good if you can accept they are really hard rock now. They kind of experimented a little too much though. The track listing order seems out of place. The song River City could have been better without the phone ringing in the middle of the song. It does have a powerful meaning though. The Garth Brooks cover could have been another song. Let's hope their next album is not all ballads and they understand how to make the album flow a bit better.

Unfortunately, All That Remains is a shadow of their former selves, and all that remains is their instrumental technicality, but only in spots. The CD is packed full of poor attempts at radio friendly hits and does nothing to satisfy the part of me that wants to see a return of their sound from the "Overcome" or "For We Are Many" days. Sadly I see them going down the path that another one of my favorites bands (311) has gone down. As they get older, they are losing the edge and aggressiveness that brought them to where they are now, in favor of a more relaxed sound. There are parts that are heavy and the CD is not a total loss. The guys are great at what they do, but I just don't think that what they are doing now is up my alley of musical taste. I am definitely going to listen to a bootleg of their next CD before I even seriously consider buying it. I don't expect I will. Sorry.

I have been a fan of ATR since day one. Madness delivers on all levels that long time ATR fans love. While not as vocally aggressive (YES there is aggressive vocals) expect a few "curveballs" along the way that will either turn long time fans of ATR off or will assure ATR fans that this band is not afraid to grow and try new things with excellent results. If only ALL bands we love can try "new" things and still sound great!?!?!?!

I enjoy the cd but have to be in the mood. This is not the typical all that remains album. There are heavy tracks but also many tracks that definely not heavy. I personally seen this trend in the last couple albums but this one is definitely their lightest to date.

This album was well written but not as hard hitting as their previous album. It is still good well worth it for a ATR fan. Also the Cover they do of Garth Brooks The thunder Rolls is a good metal version.

Really enjoyed this cd very much. You have your heavy songs and your radio friendly songs but it all comes together to make an awesome cd. Also the surprising cover of Thunder Rolls sounds really good.

My second work owning this group of songs compiled from Springfield, MA heavy-metal music band. Excellent heavy-metal sounds adding to their previous works and sound quality is excellent.

Great new album from All That Remains. There is a lot of variation in the songs. Some really heavy, and some lighter and more "commercial". Well Worth the money!!!!
