Highly impressed
|Posted .Originally I had the Beats Pill XL. This speaker has awesome sound, it was easily portable, I could charge my iPhone with it and I could control my music from it and get phone calls on it so to me this was the best thing since sliced bread, LOVED my pill XL. Sadly there was a recall, Apple was giving $325 for the pill but no replacement so I was forced for safety reasons to shop for something equivalent to my pill. After shopping online googling wireless speakers I found the Marshall. The classic design grabbed me first then reading reviews people loved the sound so I went out to test different speakers to see how they worked and looked in person. Initially I was considering the smaller portable version. It has a handle and was definitely easy to carry around but the sound didn't compare to the XL so I went up to the next bigger version. It gave the option to control the sound i.e. Treble and Bass and the sound was decent from what I could tell in the store with the preselected music. I was told I could bring it back if I didn't like it, bought it, got it home, connected my phone which was Very easy and tested it out and I must say the sound on this Marshall is phenomenal and I mean Phenomenal. I have been playing it everyday since I got it 3 months ago and so far so good. Pros: Style, sound is phenomenal, options to control the levels, hook up with Aux, easy pairing and the sound once again. Cons: can't charge devices, can't control the music from the Marshall, can't receive phone calls and doesn't have a sleep/power off option Overall I am very happy with Marshall the main thing for me was the sound and being able to carry in a large home and it does with ease without losing anything or having distortions when its loud. I just wish it could at least charge my phone if I needed it to and had s sleep mode or automatic power off if no device is connected like the XL

Beautiful speaker, quality sound.
|Posted .From the first time I saw her I knew she was the one, that pearly white skin, the beautiful fibers stretched across her front, the brass switches and knobs. I first saw her at the best buy in Albuquerque, she was sitting there on the shelf and just looking too pretty to believe, I had to walk over and see what she was all about. She was dressed in black and didn't speak to me (thanks for maintaining your displays Marshall), and I knew I couldn't afford her, but I refused to believe we weren't meant to be together. I questioned the friendly staff on her availability and they said "yes, but we're all out of black"...after a couple seconds of intense thought and impulse purchasing calculating I realized I could go a couple weeks with out food. I purchased her, (with the two year warranty) brought her home, plugged her in and turned her on...and she was better than I could ever imagine, 'the artic monkeys' 'do I wanna know' came on, full volume, and I knew I had fallen in love....although after Kenny loggins 'highway to the danger zone' my room mates started to complain...I love this speaker.

Superb Sounding wood box, lacks some basic feature
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendeven though it lacks some basic features like phone call support this speaker is a winner when it comes to sound quality. I've read a lot of reviews before buying Stanmore. Few said lows are not good, its all about the bass etc. I'd think otherwise. I loved the way acoustic sounds(specially guitars), lows, mids are pretty decent. Bass is freaking awesome. This thing is super loud and fills an entire small home with great sound. give it a shot with some classic instrumental and you'll fall in love with it. The song I played as a test in BB store- Get Lucky(daft punk) which helped me decide. Now, talking about, cons...there are quite a few- *Not portable- so you have to carry it from room to room and plug it in *No ios/android support. it still uses plain Bluetooth pairing and you cannot change songs from the speaker like other Bluetooth speakers allows you to do *A remote could have been a great add given the size and weight of the speaker you'll want to place it in one fixed spot always *pairing is not that great. I find it difficult to pair multiple devices. Overall if you are a music lover and want a great sounding box. Marshall Stanmore is the Best buy.

Great alternative for a component audio system.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendVisually, this speaker is awesome! It really does have the old rock & roll vibe. Sound wise, it's not a true stereo system (as there's no real separation), however, the sound more than makes up for it. I've never turned it up past 1/2 volume (not necessary). I'm also surprised at the quality of the Bluetooth connection; really handy (even though I use the 'corded' option for CD play). Will it take the place of a high end component system? Of course not. That said, without needing to give up tons of space for multiple speakers & components, it really is fitting my needs so far. If I REALLY need to hear something in true stereo with full separation, I'll wear my headphones. I've used it for old rock, blues, 1920s jazz, and classical piano CDs, and enjoyed them all tremendously. I'm really glad that I finally (after torturing myself over it for 10 months) made the purchase. No regrets!

Blows Beats Out of the Water
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought a Beats by Dr. Dre Beatbox Portable Speaker a year ago. It was really good. It was portable and loud. When I got the Marshall Stanmore speaker, I was blown away. The sound quality was better. It had deeper bass. And the knobs on top are easier to use and more responsive. I like this one too, because it has more input options, including Optical. The only bad side of this speaker is that it is not portable. The beats takes batteries so you can take it with, without plugging in, this one has to be plugged in to AC. But besides that, this is a far superior speaker, if you are looking for excellent sound and not looking to be portable.

Beats my Bose. I love the range and projection!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this for my husband for Father's Day. He absolutely loves it. I have both the Bose Soundlink and the Soundlink Mini, although I love them for their portability the sound quality doesn't compare to the Marshall Stanmore. I looks like an old amp from the fifties.
