Would be 100% Excellent... one small issue.
Posted .Possibly the best Mass Effect game of the series, but opinions can vary, though everyone should agree it's equal if not better than the other to for sure. It shines in many places the other games don't, but also slips back in some areas. Overall is a major positive in the changes that are made. Gameplay is by far the best of the three games in my opinion. Graphics (on the XBOX 360) are amazing and the improvements that have been made in the series over the years, while still using the same hardware is impressive. The audio/soundtrack (soundtrack included with the collector's edition!) is wonderful. The audio in game flows well with the story and situation, better than the other two, which is very impressive. Why not give the story line a excellent rating? Not going to spoil it, but they didn't hold up to what they claim was going to happen. No I'm not complaining about the results of the ending just the choices and stuff that happens near it. Majority of everyone agrees the ending was meh, and was sloppy, but it is a suprise in many aspects. Won't spoil it, and will let you decide if the ending is worthwhile, but to me it killed the mood. The multiplayer is fun and if you have a lot of friends that play Mass Effect it's a great time to just hang out kill some enemies and put your gameplay strategies and skill to the test with friends.

So close...
Posted .Just to preface this review- I'm an average gamer as far as how much I play, but when a game is good, I dive right in. The Mass Effect games might be one of the greatest franchises ever created to date. Game play is completely immersive and is (almost) limitless in replay ability, the story is (almost) great, the graphics are superb with cut scenes and gameplay having little if any difference in high level of detail, and this is just a general review for the entire series. Enter Mass Effect 3. Everything is taken to the next level. Battles are more intense, the selection of weapons and character powers is varied, the levels/environments are breathtaking in scope and artistic vision and the decisions that are made can have dire consequences. Everything in me was already looking forward to playing 1 and 2 again to make different choices to see how the results throughout the game would play out . . . until the last 20 or so minutes of the game. Without tossing out any spoilers (for those who haven't already heard and didn't know about it) . . . the ending is probably the worst ending I could have imagined. And I'm not alone in this thinking. If after only two weeks, there is a certain social network with a "fan" page demanding a new ending- and it already has 50000 (literally) "likes", you KNOW there is a problem. To be fair, the company is showing possible flexibility and may release something in DLC form to appease all of us "whiners", but we shall see. I'm hoping they can correct their mistake. I want to recommend this game . . . but the ending stops me from doing that.

Great game, flawed ending
Posted .Mass Effect 3 is better than 95% of the games out there. It brings back all of the gameplay elements that made ME2 so great, while keeping the core, conversation tree design relatively unchanged. They even added a fun and easily accessible Multiplayer experience. The game ramps up in excitement and amazing set pieces right up to the climax, and then tragically falls short of what fans have come to expect from Bioware Studios. The ending, without spoiling it, simply seems unfinished. If the rest of the game is a Diamond, the last 15 minutes are a lump of coal. The interlocking set of decisions and events that were set through the first 2 games are set aside for a poorly executed set of endings (Though your decisions do matter and do effect how the game will progress, just not how the game ends). The Collectors edition is a great deal at this price, if only for access to From Ashes DLC. The Prothean squadmate is effective and has some great scenes. The Artbook is a good read and will sit on a coffee table easily. The additional in-game weapons provide a good boost to the players early levels and the squad uniforms make for some good variation as the game progresses. The N7 patch i liked most. It's already attached to my messenger bag.

Amazing game Incomplete Ending
Posted .Mass Effect series is an all time great. This game was awesome and incredible on so many moments. However, the side quests were slightly awkward in the way they were tracked and acquired. Also, the endgame didn't quite deliver. There should have been a lot more details on the multiple factions I gathered and the situations they were under, along with my decisions from previous games. A few extra variable dependent cutscenes (like the clips at the end of ME2) of my different assests doing their thing and just more information and integration on what exactly happened during the final battle and as a result of the ending would have been nice and capped it off a lot better. Aside from that, which is admittedly a high expectatiom, the game is amazing and one of the best series of all time. But wait to buy this until the launch DLC is free and until they'e expanded the game a little.

Amazing Game!
Posted .If you are new to this game series, I highly suggest you buy the first two and play through them all. I have never enjoyed a game series as much as this one. Many people have complained about the ending to this game but after playing through every game in this series, I find nothing wrong with it. However, I am looking forward to the update that is supposed to be coming out to "fix" the ending. This game along with the other two in the series are definitely worth your time and money. On top of all the great things about the single-player, This game has a very fun and addicting multiplayer. They just updated it with new characters and levels and I am looking forward to the next updates.

Alright but the last 10 minutes suck
Posted .First off, this is an outstanding game, if it wasn't for the last 10 minutes I would have rated it 5 starts and given it excellent for the storyline. The last 10 minutes introduces some fairly large plot holes and almost feels like they brought in someone else to finish it. If you have played Mass Effect 1 and 2, this is more of what you love (it's got more in common with Mass Effect 2 than 1) with lot's of references to the first 2 games, and what you did in the first 2 games will have an effect (though I don't know if it will be as much of one as we were promised). If you haven't played Mass Effect 1 and 2, do your self a favor, go out and get those and play them first, it will add so much to you experience in playing Mass Effect 3.

Bioware drops the ball ...just like DragonAge2
Posted .Bioware fails to deliver in the end... making the whole journey worthless. Third installment of the MassEffect trilogy does a good job of drawing you into the story and characters... that is till it leave you at the end with a horrible, non closer ending, and no final boss or sense of accomplishment. The games does so well at establishing no replay value that it's unlikely you'll want to revisit Mass Effect 1 or 2 either. With this title BioWare has fallen out of touch with it's fanbase... leaving them completely disgruntled. Wait for a price reduction or rental is my best advice.

Great Game
Posted .This was a very well put together game. Excellent story, excellent gameplay and the visuals and audio are spectacular. Kinect really does make it more exciting and make you feel more in the game. The multiplayer addition was really a great idea and I personally love it.That is not to say it is without flaws. Teammates still act like idiots at times, side missions are really confusing, and some frames lag a little. I've played the game over 50 hours and its at the point where it sometimes lags or glitches a little. Overall I would recommend this game to any friend, even if the ending of the game is very controversial.
