    Synopsis

    Max Payne
Rockstar Games' double-gunned action franchise comes to the big screen thanks to director John Moore (The Omen) and Mark Wahlberg, who embodies the title character of Max Payne, a widowed cop hell-bent on delivering justice no matter what the cost as he investigates a string of killings in his city. Mila Kunis and Chris O'Donnell head up the supporting cast, with Beau Thorne adapting the screenplay for the 20th Century Fox production. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi

A Little more better but still missing something

The unrated verson of max payne is a little more better than the PG13 verson because that verson kind of suck .In someways the movie dose stay the same but in other ways they added more stuff in that could have made a better impack when it was playing in theather. The movie itself is not the worst video game to movie that anyone has made i could name others video games that were made into movies that were worst .Max Payne dose do a good job in the unrated verson in the action and the blood.I think if they do another one they should a not make it PG 13 because how bad this one was when it was pg 13 and do more with the story as well.I do think they should get Mark Wahberg back as max payne and the girl that played monia sax should come back as well she was good at playing her character. the unrated verson get a 7 in half out 10

This was a really good movie, my wife and I loved it! (It kind of reminded us of Constantine, just a different plot.) We actually watched it with a friend of ours, and all of us were left scratching our heads afterwards. The over all movie was good, great acting and great imagery. However, the plot is somewhat confusing and the film ends rather abruptly leaving some unanswered questions. Otherwise, I would've given it 5 stars. I used to play the video game when I was younger, and I thought the film was a great adaptation. I highly recommend it! Also, some other good films based on video games are Doom, Silent Hill, and The Resident Evil series.

Not As Bad As some peoples make it out to be

A stylish and innovative adaptation of the classic third person shooter, Max Payne was unfairly mauled by critics when This movie delivered on what it was supposed to, revenge! All the pieces were quickly set in place to draw the viewer in, taking them for a ride to the inevitable conclusion. Since this is based on a game, viewers shouldn't expect more dimension from the characters than would be offered from a game, in fact I think Wahlberg fleshes out Max Payne more than expected.

I really enjoyed the modern day references to the Norse culture. Of course, we know about Thor, Odin, Loki, etc, but very little is written about aspects of the Norse God's Culture outside of fighting and being warriors. This feature provides credence to a warriors character and how he is judged in life and how he will be judged in the afterlife. Very Good movie with a solid storyline.

Max Payne is a pretty cool movie. There is plenty of action that will keep you entertained for the whole 100 minute film. Mark Wahlberg is excellent as Max. This movie has a real dark feel to it because a majority of it takes place at night and Max dresses in all black for much of the movie. The story is real confusing but there is plenty of action and suspense.

I feel like it should have captured the comic book portion of the game. It could have used a little more bullet time as well as more graphic shooting scenes. With all of that said, its still an enjoyable movie and worth a watch for fans of the game and for people that haven't played the game before.

This is a great movie for Mark Wahlberg fans, but not for Max Payne fans. I think if the games were studied more (and the scripts for them), then the writers could have made a better storyline... I still think this is a great movie regarding everything but the storyline... that's the only dreadful thing about it.

If you played any of the games you are going to be greatly disapointed in this film....first thing. Needed to be rated R, when you make a movie out of a videogame that is rated M, You need to show blood that the game showed. All in all, an alright action flick, better if you never played the game.
