Good game, Overpriced physical release
Posted .FULL REVIEW: https://wp.me/p4T35p-g2B Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is a fun title that I think children will love. Hardcore gamers will often attribute their ability to old school platformers that they spent many hours on. This game is not terribly long, but it makes you think both creatively and on your feet. I love that it can help younger gamers develop that kind of skill. The one huge drawback is the jumping. Even on the Switch, this title is months old, so we are unlikely to see a fix for the issue. A shame, because more responsive control would elevate the replay value of this title. For $15 (digital), this game has a a lot of value. The solid graphical design is worth the experience. Running from a giant version of the Critters with no slowdown is fantastic. The puzzles are thought out; not too simple, but not so difficult that a child cannot best them. The drawing mechanic feels as though it were made for the Switch despite being designed long before its existence. If something were done about the jumping, this could easily be a must play on all platforms. For now, I can only recommend it to those itching for a platformer. Nintendo also should do something about the price. Why anyone would spend double on a flash card versus downloading the game is beyond me.

A good game for Switch owners
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendSO. MUCH. FUN! One of the reviews here said that if one enjoyed Tomb Raider, one would enjoy this title as well. I bought this game based on that review and I have to say, this has got to be one of my favorite platformer games yet. The gameplay is fun, unique and exciting. You have a magic pen that you can use to transform your environment into a platform for you to interact with and to help you on your journey to find your brother. I thought it would be awkward to try and draw things on screen with the controller, but I was wrong. It was easy and intuitive, one element that I enjoyed about the game. + Fun little puzzle-platformer. + Pretty graphics (like watching a cartoon). + Predictable but still enjoyable story. + Puzzles are mostly not too easy (though this could be a con for a kid). + Great voice acting. + Very forgiving checkpoints. + Tight controls. + Very well paced. - The final boss fight is too short and too easy. - Linear (though for this type of game, it is sort of expected). I seriously hope there's a sequel. Would buy it in a heartbeat.

Cute and surprisingly solid platformer
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI had no interest in this game until I tried the demo on Nintendo's eShop which surprised me quite a bit. The Pixar-style animation is charming, the story is adorable, and the platforming is surprisingly tight. The way the game transitions between cinematics and gameplay is super smooth and keeps the action flowing. Definitely recommend for fans of modern 2D platformers like Limbo or Inside (in terms of gameplay, though the aesthetic is very different here).

Really fun
|Posted .Owned for 10 months when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI bought this to play on my commute to work, but found that I was playing it more at home than on the commute. Very fun and worth playing through again.

Great remake for the switch
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendHaving never played the original I was excited to finally get the chance. It's a fun game for the kids. Adults may find it a bit too easy but was a fun game none the less. More of a puzzle platform game and using the touchscreen makes getting through some sections much easier.

A surprisingly good game.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI had a little cash to burn and I saw this game at the store. I did a quick search and found out what kind of game it was and gave it a shot. It has a good story and it is easy to play. It is a relaxing game to play and the puzzles that you have to figure out are not too hard to figure out. A similar game to this would be Unravel.
