When a law office is hit by a virus that causes its victims to act out their most violent urges, employee Derek Cho (Steven Yeun) uses the building's quarantine as an opportunity to strike back at his company's heartless executives. Directed by Joe Lynch.~Joshua Kochis
4 + 1 more star because it was ¢99. Fun, campy, and self aware action movie satirizing corporate life, possibly even cathartic if you're a 9-5 cubicle grinder. Great quality production values and acting. The chemistry between the two main protagonists is great. Like in TWD Steven Yeun does an excellent job of being a relatable everyman action hero complimented by Samara Weaving as a sarcastic badass. The pace isn't always perfect but I personally think Mayhem puts the office pandemonium premise to better use than the better known The Belko Experimen
I loved The Belko Experiment, so when the comparison to Mayhem started flying around I had to see how similar they really were. Conceptually? Oh yeah, they're near identical with the focus put on office workers placed in a kill or be killed situation, but finally? Couldn't be more different. Belko was Battle Royale meets Office Space, while Mayhem plays out almost like a goofy take on rage virus films similar to 28 Days Later, with the office setting serving as an excuse to heightened tensions. It's still incredibly fun, if you want something similar to Belko with none of the emotional baggage and twice the gore you can't pass up Mayhem.
If you liked bloody, The Belko Experiment, then you'll love this movie . Steven Yuen(Walking Dead) stars along with beautiful Samara Weaving , whose making a name for herself . Plot is full of bloody violence due to a virus and results in a shut down and quarantine of an office building . A disgruntled Derek is about to climb the corporate ladder to the boardroom with help from his new sidekick Melanie.
It's a great movie , perfectly made with enticing characters , comedy , fights , kills & blood galore.
I just saw Mayhem. After being unjustly fired from his job, Derek Cho discovers that the law firm's building is under quarantine for a dangerous virus. Chaos erupts throughout the office as victims of the disease begin acting out their wildest impulses. Joining forces with a former client, Derek savagely fights tooth and nail to get to executives on top floor and settle the score once and for all.
This is a crazy wacky horror-comedy/thriller that I had a blast watching! Great humor and practical effects. Steven Yeun, famous for playing Glenn on The Walking is great and had phenomenal chemistry with Samara Weaving who is all fantastic in the film. I really enjoyed this movie and I highly recommend it.
I bought it because Glenn from The Walking Dead was in it and the plot sounded decent. I still wasn’t expecting too much but it was pretty good. I am not disappointed with this purchase.
The acting is decent, some are good, some are ok. The plot is decent, interesting and didn’t get boring. If you like these types of movies, I’d say get it
