Maytag - 2.0 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - Black

I purchased this microwave to replace my 13 year old Whirlpool. It heated food quickly and was quiet. I liked the kitchen timer, light/nightlight features and the ability to time multiple items at the same time. The vent system wasn't effective as it didn't remove the smoke/steam as it should. The microwave stopped heating after 16 months, although the other features continued to work. I referred to the owner's manual to troubleshoot the problem. I followed the simple fixes such as unplugging/plugging it back in and pushing the stop/clear button twice. Neither worked so I was going to call for service, but after reading online reviews from other owners decided it didn't seem cost effective to have it serviced. Many owners reported problems weren't fixed and the repairs were more costly than the orginal purchase price. In my opinion appliances shouldn't be "disposable" within such a short time. I'm very disappointed in this Maytag product and would not purchase this brand again.

Magnetron burned out after about 18 months. Makes alot of noise now, but doesn't cook anymore. Nobody makes anything worth a cr*p anymore. When it was working, it cooked fine, nothing special. It's hard to get excited about an appliance. Cooking was louder than other microwaves I've had and the hood fan was extremely loud.

I purchased this microwave and it has been excellent and very reliable. If you are interested in paying under 400.00 and your looking for a microwave that will do everything except conventional this is the one for you. This microwave cooks everything very well, I would recommend to anyone.I love it. I have had no problems at all it works great and I don't think I'll be looking at microwaves anytime soon this one should last me quite a while
