Maytag builds a strong, yet quiet dishwasher with a fingerprint resistant stainless steel exterior and stainless steel tub to stand up to years of the toughest cleaning jobs. We've thrown in the most powerful dishwasher motor on the market and a 4-blade stainless steel chopper. Plus, we stand behind what we've built with a 10-year limited parts warranty.
Most powerful motor on the market
Maytag dishwashers feature the most powerful motor on the market. Powerful enough to handle dried-on egg yolk and peanut butter without prerinsing, this motor can handle your dirtiest dishes.
4-Blade stainless steel chopper
No more scraping plates. The 4-blade stainless steel chopper disintegrates the food particles that come off your dishes so they don't end up recirculating and sticking to your dishes and glassware.
The PowerBlast cycle removes stuck-on food with high pressure spray jets, increased temperature and hot steam to finish the job.
Up the temperature to reduce excess moisture inside your dishwasher and get dishes nice and dry.
You're in control with a simple tap of your finger. Smooth, tap-to-activate settings give you quick and seamless access to powerful cleaning.
Fingerprint resistant stainless steel
Easy-to-clean, fingerprint resistant stainless steel helps prevent smudges and keeps your dishwasher looking as good on the outside as it works on the inside.
Quiet at only 50 dBA
This dishwasher is made to perform at only 50 dBA, so you can enjoy the cleaning power of a mighty Maytag at a low noise level. (Per IEC standards.)
10-Year limited parts warranty
Maytag dishwashers are covered by a 10-year limited parts warranty on the racks, chopper blade and stainless steel tub. So when we say you can count on your dishwasher for years, we mean it. (See warranty for complete details.)
Built for the long haul
We packed in sturdy stainless steel that's ready for cycle after cycle of tough cleaning. Built for high heat and less likely to crack than plastic, stainless steel materials also resist stains to help keep your dishwasher looking good for years to come.
Steam sanitize option
The Steam Sanitize option lets you confidently wash important items with a high-temperature rinse that removes 99.999% of food soil bacteria.
Full stainless steel tub
The full stainless steel tub is built of stainless steel from top to bottom, so it's tough enough to handle high heat and resist cracking and staining for years.
2x life tested motor
Our 2x life tested motor is built to last and tested to prove it. (Twice life testing based on accelerated 20-year life testing, normal cycle, average use.)
Tiered upper rack
After a big meal, you'll need room to fit all your glasses or plates. The tiered upper rack is designed like stadium seating to hold everything from small saucers to large plates and taller glasses.
Premium DuraGuard nylon racks
Premium DuraGuard nylon racks have a heavy-duty coating that resists rust.
The end-of-cycle indicator lets you know exactly where the dishwasher is in the wash cycle: when it's in process, when it's finished and when the Steam Sanitize option is in use.
ENERGY STAR certified
ENERGY STAR certified dishwashers use less water and energy than standard models, helping you save money on utility bills.
Maytag 24" Front Control Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless Steel Tub
Purchased the dishwasher based on great reviews. Upon first use, water was spotted under the dishwasher and one the electric hardwire box. Unsure where the water was coming from, we ran another cycle to locate the water was a result of the float switch stem feeding water from the body of the dishwasher, down the float switch stem, and then pulling/dripping to the floor or electric hardwire box. See pictures showing the water leaking down the float switch stem. Thought this was just a fluke based on other stellar reviews so exchanged for another. The same issue (actually worse leak than the first) is occurring with this exchanged item. Never had issues with other brands of dishwashers, so never buying a Maytag again. If you do buy, pay close attention to the float switch stem since I'm now 2 for 2 with the same leaking issue. Gave it two stars because besides the leak, it cleans and dries well.

*Review by Joel's Wife:
My dishwasher went out 2 weeks ago & I did not want to go to stores during the virus quarantine. We bought without seeing in person. This is a basic dishwasher - nothing fancy. And I am fine with not-fancy. It washed the dishes - so it did it's job.
The heating element is smaller and goes just around the bottom arm base - not around the perimeter of the tub like my old machine (see photo).
Soap dispenser slides closed after filling.
Pros: Stainless Tub. Cycle lights are bright and easy to see. Fairly easy to install. The front is nice - stainless looks good, basic but sleek control panel. Pretty quiet!
Cons: Lots of water/condensation on inside of door after wash/dry cycle (I mean 3 hours after cycle finished & I went to unload) (2 photos of door with condensation, but also note the water in bottom of tub in heat element picture). The dip/slope on the left side of upper rack does not really help much - water bottles still do not fit easily. The door opening mechanism is just yanking it open - no latch for opening/closing - I've never had one like this before & honestly it makes me a little nervous. Load capacity - maybe it's just because I had a load of odd shapes and sizes for my 1st load - but I did not feel that I could fit as much in as I did with my old Whirlpool.
Bottom line - I'm glad to have a working dishwasher, but not sure if I was shopping the traditional way (in store, actually opening & closing & pulling out racks, etc) I would choose this model.
Easy to install, sleek design, quiet, cleans well, all stainless, roomy, controls are easy to use and smart layout, and after 30 days has not broken down. Expecting circuit board failure in two years, hopefully not, but replacing circuit board is easier than most. I plan on keeping this one as long as possible with 10 year warranty.
Item was delivered on 4/25/2020 at my home in California during stay at home orders. They delivered it into my house and left which is fine with me. Item was installed by myself and it wasn’t difficult at all especially since the unit had wheels on it.
I owned a basic Frigidaire Dishwasher with plastic tub that was about 5 years old and was still cleaning good but racks were pvc coated and been rusting since it was a year old and while I was able to fix that issue for a while it came back and starting leaving rust marks on the edges of my plates so I decided to upgrade since my kitchen was renovated last September.
Ideally I wanted a dishwasher that was stainless steel inside and out and also a third rack but I couldn’t justify the cost of a third rack machine by Maytag so I settled for the base front control Maytag model.
Cleaning performance is better than my old Frigidaire dishwasher and I tested it with a pot with burnt on spaghetti sauce on the bottom of the pot and used the power blast and it was shining like new. Sanitizing temperature of the Maytag unit is also higher than my old machine.
Drying performance is good now but the first few times I used the machine the tub was all wet after the cycle was done but the dishes were mostly dry. I looked at the rinse aid dispenser and saw it was set for number 3 so I adjusted the dial to number 4 and the next time I ran a load of dishes everything including the tub was dry.
Rack set up is almost the same as my old unit except for the top rack. The top rack on this Maytag unit is like a stadium setup where it gets deeps they further you got to right side of the top rack. I love it I can fit taller glasses that couldn’t fit on my old one and also fit 24oz water bottles on the deep end too. I love the utensils basket and the slots to separate items and keep the from nesting.
Overall this Maytag is a wonderful machine and I love it so far and while it’s just a little over a month old it’s working flawlessly. I also use afresh dishwasher cleaner once a month to keep it running good just like my old machine. My old had no lime scale and looked new inside except for the bottom rack and looked new outside too because I maintain them so well.
I chose Maytag because it’s made in America and I previously had appliances by them that lasted almost 20 years.
Installed myself to replace older dishwasher , you do need an elbow fitting which doesn’t come with , got that in a universal install kit for about 15 dollars . Its much quieter than my last one, which I notice because my chair I watch tv in is in direct line of sight, and had to wait to run it , this one I can barely hear , cleans great , and it has the disposal , no Filter , which I wanted, I have used auto clean , it works good , I use to use high dry all the time but I don’t with this one , of course every once in awhile a cup will have a few drips on top if it has a big indentation but that’s normal. Do yourself a favor , buy this one ,
A:Answer1busymom, the dishwasher will run up to 3 hours without options for a normal cycle. We recommending using rinse aid and heated dry option to get the best performance. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Maytag appliances!
A:AnswerHi Rosebud1013, this model has a pocket handle door. That means the door will latch and cannot be opened unit the handle is pushed in, but it is not technically a lock. Hopefully, this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Maytag appliances!
