Maytag 4.7 Cu. Ft. 11-Cycle High-Efficiency Top-Loading Washer
I’ve only had my washer 6 weeks. When I went to get my sheets out of the washer, my sheet was in the tub like the washer had eaten it. Obviously I’ve washed these same sheets in this machine multiple times. No problems until today. I managed to pull some of the sheet out gently. Couldn’t get it all. Put it back in turned on delicate cycle so it would only use a little water. I let it barely start to agitate. Paused the machine Opened it and pulled more sheet out. Did this twice until I got it completely out.
I have no idea why this happened and of course it’s past the 30 days where you can exchange for another machine. I hope nothing like this happens again. Fortunately got the grease out of my sheet using Dawn dishwashing liquid. Never saw this coming.
IThe experience was less than perfect. I purchased the washer and dryer under challenging conditions. I was disappointed when it was not delivered as originally scheduled. When the washer was unloaded it was not in a box. In addition the washer does not match the dyer in style or size. That said, the washer is superb. Clothes are cleaned extremely well. I had a front load which is supposed to be better but this Maytag is in a class of its own.
Our washer quit working. We looked at Consumer Reports to know the best ones to focus towards while shopping. One of the limiting restrictions was the actual size of the combo of machines compared to the designated utility room size. We love them!
For the first several months, I was very satisfied with this machine. But then, it decided to eat my favorite sheet. The sheet somehow got pulled into the crevice between the agitator section and the other part of the drum.
I am extremely disappointed, as this machine seemed to have better reviews than a lot of others in the same price range. And even the salespeople seemed to prefer it, due to the addition of an agitator to the HE design.
After using this washer for less than 2 months, I found a big puddle of water under it after completing a normal load. So, I'm not too impressed at this point, although before this happened, I've been pleased with the performance of the machine. The Geek Squad will be servicing my machine this week, so more to follow....hopefully all goes well and my machine makes a full recovery.
A:Answeri finally figured out a way to soak cloths over night ... After the washer is done filling up with water hit the pause button do not open lid the machine will stay paused walk away and return when your done soaking push pause button again and cycle will continue from where it was paused. This is the only way that I have found that allows you to soak your cloths.
Do not leave the lid open or you will come back and find the washer empty..
Hope this helps ! ! !
A:AnswerAgitator moves sufficiently, but very little water. Some clothing and bedding have been damaged due , I think, to the lack of water. I have always had an agitator washer, with lots of water, so clothes were always clean and well rinsed. No, my new Maytag It did not come in an enclosed box that I saw, unless it was unpacked on the truck. I am looking for a possible replacement. The washer is pretty to look at and has nice sounds, but still, I can't afford to have my clothing damaged.
A:AnswerI've had it for almost a month. Think it's one of the noisiest machines I've ever heard. I have it in a small room that has tile on the floor so I put a rug down and that's helped a little. I also am having problems with soap scum being left on my dark clothes. I would definitely look at buying a different machine if I were you!
A:AnswerYes, there is a button to change spin speed, I tend to choose a slower speed and avoid "Max Extract" which is the fastest speed as my experience has been that this wears the bearing out faster meaning repairs (at over $250 a pop) more often.
A:AnswerHave had ours for 12 months and started it tonight, also now has this horrible squeeling noise while spinning and filling with water. Not sure if this is a problem with Maytag washers, but before finding the results on here for this one, older models of Maytag washers seem to have reports of this high pitched squeeling. Also very disappointed, researched, have not been happy with the results, the detergent left on everything washed, or the water left in the trays after every single load, which are now rusting.
A:AnswerYes you can leave it in pause mode and the water will not drain out.. Make sure you wait until the machine finishes filling up with water at the beginning of the wash cycle then hit the pause button do not open the lid. I walked away and returned the following morning and all the water was still in the machine I hit the pause button again and washer continued the cycle where it left off ....
Hope this helps .
