      Amazing capacity!

I was so scarred by a smelly front loader that we had to go back to top. That and the current front loaders out there are too big for our space. I am loving the capacity! We combine what would have been several loads into one big load now. I could wash a king quilt coverlet AND the sheets all at once. We are about a month into ownership and have had the chance to check out the settings. The more spin/extract you desire the wrinklier your clothes will be. I love the rapid cycle for washing our familiy’s Swim gear quickly after the pool. I also really like choosing a temp in between warm and cold. It’s quieter than our old Kenmore front loader but still makes enough noise that we want to keep the laundry room door closed when watching TV around the corner. Clothes seem clean with no soap residue. I have been erring on the side of caution and using smaller amounts of liquid HE detergent and so far so good. After every load I keep thinking, “I sure do love this machine!”

I wound up returning this machine. Because of extremely low water levels, clothing did not move around in tub. I tried multiple cycles and used the "deep fill" feature and still didn't get enough water to cover even small loads. (I re-read the manual 4 times to make sure I was giving it a fair shot!) Clothes came out dingy looking and smelly. High efficiency aspect was useless since I had to re-wash most loads. p.s. If you have short arms this is not the washer for you.

Doesn’t fill with enough water to cover clothes and if you choose deep fill, it fills ALL the way up. I have had to wet clothing to weigh it down to get the washer to add more water, but sometimes even that isn’t enough. Some loads end up going through three cycles to get all soap out. If I would have known this was going to be a problem, I would have bought a front load. At least my clothes got rinsed by my last front load.

Hi Iambatman, here are a few things to try, Detergent needs to be in the proper concentration level for best results, your new washer uses only enough water to "saturate" your articles being washer, you need to use a very small amount of detergent. Contrast this with the amount you used to use for a full tub of water. HE machines also need to be cleaned more regularly than before, We suggest and cleaning cycle every thirty loads, as best practice, but adjust to your usage. If you run a second cycle without detergent and you are getting residue, you need to keep reducing the detergent. Also please check the different cycles available, using the proper cycle is critical to get the best results! We hope this helps, but if you have any questions give our Care Experts a call at 800-344-1274 MaytagBrand

I spent a lot of time researching and reading reviews before choosing this washer. I was done with my front load and wanted a top load with an agitator . So far we are very happy with the machine . We can we the difference in our clothes. We have also been able to wash many of our large blankets due to size . It can be a little loud but it does not bother us as I would rather have my laundry cleaner.

This washer works good compared to the newer washers out there. But, it doesn’t work as well as my older washer which had an agitator. It gets them clean, but it doesn’t take out some stains. The power is weak. I guess that’s how it saves energy and water. The thing I really like about this is it’s capacity to hold larger loads, which mean less loads to wash.

I was very skeptical about the new “he” washers, with very low water and different agitation than my old Maytag. I have been very happy with the cleaning ability , and large tub gives clothes plenty of room to agitate. Washes great, handles my king down comforter/ duvet with ease.
