I loved the Mechanic. Jason Stathem takes the screen. If I didn't own a 180" movie theater in my house that literally feels like Im watching an IMAX film everytime I would have been upset I didn't support this by going to the theater. Fact is that it wasn't advertised enough! The sound and picture quality was suburb and that's on a 180" screen. Full 7.1 surround with Buttkicker transducers! The action was packed. The film takes place a good while after our "Mechanic" disappeared from his brush with death. Someone exploits the video of his survival into forcing our Mechanic into doing just "3 more jobs". Our "anti-Hero" is not keen on getting back into the business yet seems outsmarted and is indeed forced to make people accidentally die. To say this film is a step up form the prior film is like comparing my 65" screen to my theater. The stunts, action, adn story was actually very fun, very engaging and would be added to my action section with pride. The film gets even better with the addition of Tommy Lee Jones! I figured there would be a twist the second he was selected as one of the targets. Needless to say I hav no doubt that this series will continue to Franchise at least to a trilogy. Fun Film!

Jason Statham returns for the sequel to his action film The Mechanic. He plays an assassin forced to out of retirement by someone from his past. This was a fun sequel with imaginative kills & some thrilling escapes. The sequel is about equal in quality to the original. What takes it over the top for me is the addition of Jessica Alba. Jessica does some her best acting ever. Comes across very naturally, assured in this film. After so many years in the industry. Her experience really comes across in this film. Doesn't seem to be "acting". She just becomes the character in this role. She is absolutely as gorgeous as ever. In addition to her acting talent she also demonstrates her best talent. Looking amazing in a bikini! If you enjoy Statham action films or Jessica Alba. Or both. Then this is a good purchase. Fun movie with two supercool leads.

A Jason Statham movie: fun but nothing spectacular

I've always enjoyed Statham movies for the action and scattered humor. I was a fan of the first Mechanic movie so naturally I picked this one up too. IMDB reviews are pretty fair to both; the 2nd doesn't have the same draw as the original but it still makes a fun movie. The stunts are on point, as usual, but things get pretty ridiculous at times. If you're looking for a fun way to get your adrenaline fix vicariously for 90 minutes this should be a contender.

Nice plot: Kill people while making it look like an accident. Same as the first movie. It is interesting how Statham does this and what makes these films so interesting. It is worth seeing if you have some time to watch. The second movie is better than the first because he has to rescue his girlfriend (Jessica Alba) by making these (accidents) happen. I would definitely recommend it to anyone to looking for an action movie that fits the category of straightforward plot and lots of fighting scenes.

Jason Statham is a fun action and adventure actor. The stories he engages with range from dark (e.g. Wild Card) to fancy-free (e.g. Expendables); this movie is solidly in between the two extremes. It is action-packed without being over the top and the character is credible. Better than the first Mechanic, better than the Transporter franchise. But, do check out Jean Reno in his rendition of The Mechanic.

This is a great follow up to his first go around as Bishop! Aside from the love interest part of the movie it's everything you expect from a Jason Statham movie. If you are a big fan of his movies he doesn't let you down. 3 kills to make! If he doesn't then someone dies. Does he kill them all in time? Does he go after the end bad guy because he failed and someone died how should not have or because he can? Find out

This movie is better than the first Mechanic movie for several reasons. It is more lively in action, plot and acting. Having to kill people and make it look like accidents is harder than you might think. But with skill and hard work, the Mechanic makes it look easy. A very interesting movie that entertains throughout, it was enjoyable to watch this film without getting caught in a diverse or confusing plot.

What can I say, Jason Statham is a bad*ss, but to be honest, there's not a lot of depth to this movie. The plot is rather boring and supporting cast aren't that convincing IMO for their roles BUT its still fun and entertaining to watch. If anything, I bought this movie because it was cheap on Black Friday and my crush for Jessica Alba...That woman is gorgeous.
