A good shooter with a meaningful story
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMedal of Honor: Warfighter is a good followup to the 2010 reboot for the series, Medal of Honor. The game running on the Frostbite 2 engine allows for beautiful environments and amazing cutscenes. The campaign length is around what you'd expect for a AAA FPS, around 5-7 hours depending on difficulty and skill. But don't disregard this game's story - Warfighter allows people a look into the private life and struggles of special forces. In between the cutscenes, you'll be playing in several locations around the world, such as driving in a sandstorm or making your way on foot through a city under siege from a typhoon. The gameplay doesn't fall short, it's mostly what you'd expect from a FPS, but with a twist of the peek-and-lean system, allowing you to get a good angle on enemies while behind cover. My only challenge was during the first sniping section of the game, where trying to account for distance is difficult when your ally helicopter is being shot at with RPGs. Multiplayer is a nice change from typical FPSs. The game keeps the feel of Battlefield, notably due to using the same game engine, but it does a good job at making itself a different experience. When I first started multiplayer, I was met with a somewhat-confusing setup for a main menu. Getting past that, the gameplay is a unique concept. Similar to how Battlefield's focus is on four-man squads, Warfighter puts focus on you and one other player, a two-man fireteam. This is important, as your buddy serves as a spawnpoint and can heal you (or vice-versa). There are six classes, each with it's own abilities and support actions to use when enough points are accumulated. During my experiences, there are some possible issues with spawn killing and every now and then you will respawn with a class you didn't pick, but I'd expect these issues to be fixed soon. Overall, Medal of Honor: Warfighter is a good step forward for the Medal of Honor series. While it's multiplayer does take influences from Call of Duty and Battlefield, the sad reality is that this game series will end up overshadowed by those same influences. But it's the small charms such as the emotional campaign and the unique multiplayer that makes this game worth picking up.

Tough but Fun!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this game because of the hoopla of the Seal Team 6 incident. I am more of a strategy/rpg gamer, but this game has what it takes to keep me wanting to play. Great graphics and story coupled with awesome sound makes for a unique experience for someone not very good at FPS's.

Short but good campain, multiplayer is mix COD &BF
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe single player campaign is a little short, but that can be said for most FPS these days. There were some cool driving missions, one where you are playing hide and seek, which was a nice change of pace. There is a little too much use of breaching techniques for me. Otherwise it has the typical sniping part, the go crazy with the grenade launcher on rails part, ect. The story is what sets this title apart, real look into a solders life off the battlefield. The missions are based on real life events with some blockbuster explosions thrown in (which look great). A few things that I have not seen in other games are the ability to lean/peak around corners to take guys out, sliding into cover, which gets used a lot, and what they call Combat Toggle. What Combat Toggle does, is if you have a weapon with a scope but there is an enemy close, while aiming down sight, push in the right stick and you tilt your gun to use a side iron sight. Once you get used to this switching, it is good to use in the multiplayer. The multiplayer is lots of fun. The menus and setting up your loadouts were confusing at first, nut you get used to it. It sucks when you get stuck with a fireteam buddy that wants to go do their own thing all the time. You and your fireteam buddy can heal and resupply each other. There are 6! classes to chose from once you unlock them all. Each class has different grenades, different offensive support actions (kill streaks), and there is some unique abilities for each class, such as heavy armor for Demo and heat vision for Spec Ops. The maps are much smaller then BF3, which is good because you don't end up running for 5 min before you get to shoot someone. The only vehicles are ones you get for support action, which you and your fireteam buddy can spawn into until it is destroyed. One note about spawning in on your fireteam buddy, the game will not let you spawn on him if he is taking fire. Helps cut down on spawn in deaths, some. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I enjoyed the 2010 MOH and I think the multiplayer is a good blend of BF3 and Black Ops (Minus zombies). Buy it for the multiplayer and taken the time to enjoy the campaign.

A Fresh Entry In The Modern FPS Genre
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMost important statement, the kids saying "its a mix of call of duty and battlefield" only say this because thats what they WISH it was, and because thats all they know and want. This game has many creative aspects, involving fireteam heal/resupply by going up to your indicated fireteam buddy and pressing square. Amazing skills and ways of balancing classes, for instance a spec ops class character can run faster than other any other class, but cant take as many bullets as others. They did this very well, some might think that since i said spec ops cant take as much bullets that it probably is an underpowered class that gets death spammed. In fact, i listed this because spec ops is my favorite class and the way it was balanced is just absolutely perfect. It isnt a sniper by the way, its an insertion class with close range weapons and the ability to (every once in a while) activate the power to see through walls and any other objects, in a sort of heat sensor type way, that temporarily outlines figures in a purple-like shroud. It requires observation as its not meant to be the most effective heat vision, yet again applying a great amount of balance. Its only helpful in the right hands, so to say. Other classes have there own abilities and ways of being balanced, but you'll have look into that for yourself. Since the recent patch, every single glitch or problem, except one, has been solved. The only remaining problem is really only applicable on ps3 because they refuse to update their software to allow people to have organized chats (e.g. party chat on 360). The in game chat is a faulty roll of the dice. It seemingly lets you choose between party(meaning people you invited to your lobby beforehand), team, and fireteam chat options. However, who you actually hear, or whether you hear anyone at all, is completely random. This is being brought to their attention and a new patch should be coming soon if it hasnt already, as i have many games to play. Overall, this game is amazing and has done things the now-garbage sreies referred to as Call of Duty has already carbon copied. Show your support for the real people making new things to experience, not the people that see it and copy. Its only $30 right now and its completely worth it. Dont buy another Call of Duty your going to regret because a friend told you, "Na man, Its better this time!" Trust me, I already did...

Medal of Honor gone to the future
|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendIt seems that the series has left what this great series was for the future fighters. there are other games out there that handle the future fighters. I liked medal of honor because of its raw work in using weapons that the fighters had used in past battles. I was not impressed with this at all. Go back to your winning formula...

Good Solid Game
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI grabbed this game at the last minute for an extra Christmas gift because of the great price! My son loves it so far. The graphics are excellent and in our opinion it is one of the better games in the Medal of Honor series for PS3.
