This is a terrific product for older individuals that desire independence in their daily lives. I did a LOT of research trying to find the right wearable device for my 80+ year old father after a recent medical scare. Because my father has mild dementia, we were looking for a wearable device that was simple to use (smart watches were too complicated for my father, who barely remembers how to use his smart phone), had GPS tracking functionality that did not rely on WiFi connectivity, decent battery life, an SOS function with an integrated phone to call for help, and also functioned as a watch (so he would actually wear it everyday and everywhere). It was surprisingly difficult to find this marriage of simplicity and functionality. In fact, this was the ONLY product that checked all the boxes for us. It is very easy to trigger the SOS call (hold down the red button for 3 seconds, which automatically connects to a live Medical Guardian operator, who can then either call 911 or your designated contact list according to the account preferences), and to cancel the alert if the button is accidentally pushed. The sound quality on the watch is surprisingly loud and crisp, so even if dad forgets how to go through the motions of canceling the alert on the watch, he can verbally tell the operator that he is okay. We tested the SOS functionality a few times for practice, and the Medical Guard operators were very patient and kind. To be clear, the phone functionality is limited to SOS calls to the Medical Guardian emergency operator (no other incoming or outgoing calls), but you can use the mobile app to send a text message which is displayed on the watch face, such as "Hi Dad, call me", or text-to-voice message played through the speaker. I want to note that all of the negative reviews about this product seem to relate to the ongoing monitoring fee (around $50/month after two free months). This may seem like a lot to some folks, but for what you're getting in return (i.e., live operators available 24x7x365 to send an ambulance and call family members, prolonging the period for aging individuals to live independently, and peace of mind for both the wearer and their family members), this is a bargain!

Ok I purchased this for my elderly mother. It is difficult to set up the service is expensive and even the staff at Best Buy reluctantly and privately cringed at this watch. Never again and I couldn’t even get a stroke credit for this. It’s supposedly designed for seniors and not even my nephew couldn’t understand the set up. If there is less than zero that is how I would rate it.
