Memorex - 50-Pack 16x DVD-R Disc Spindle - White

This handsome unit was easy to assemble and absolutely fits my needs.

Used Reward Zone points to get these almost free. They are the best option I have found so far for backing up Wii games as well as movies and home video.

So I buy these to store data such as videos or pics or mp3s, almost anything of importance worth backing up on a computer and its a very cheap method. I also use these for recording old vhs movies using my dvd burner and they've become invaluable to me. If you wait for a sale on them they come out to something like 20 - 25 cents per disc. You can't get much cheaper a price to beat than that for its usage. The reason I buy the -R's is because they can record widescreen, the +R's won't.

I have been purchasing Memorex CD and DVD blank media storage products for close to 10 years now and have never been disappointed. I have tried many other brands some which cost less and other that cost more. It has been my experience that Memorex has the prices set just right for the quality and durability of their CD and DVD media products. I would recommend their products to anyone who cares about queslity but doesn't need to pay for an overpriced item just because of the name on the label.

I have been 'saving" my data on disks after my computer's external hard drive died. My iMac refused to deal with anything but DVD-R. Same problem occurred when I transferred VHS tapes to DVDs on my dvd recorder. I tried getting the Memorex - 100-Pack 16x DVD-R Disc Spindle at another store but they did not carry the 100 package. Best Buy's price seemed reasonable. I would have given 5 stars if more than one package was on the store's shelf

I still have memories of the audio cassette commericals from the 80s so I guess I have some brand loyalty to Memorex. I have used about 1/4 of the discs while converting my old VHS library to DVD and have not yet had a faulty disc...so goes without saying I'm pleased, I will revise this review should there be any change in the remainder.

I've used at least 500 Memorex DVD-Rs, so far no coasters that were caused by Memorex. I've used other brands and also had good luck but these are usually at a better price than other major brands. The design has changed several times that I have seen but there is always room to label the disc and with the print being a gloss vs matte finish you can write over the top of it; if you need to. As a DVD-R there can be compatibility isues with some players etc but I have tried these on at least a dozen DVD players at friends and families houses. They also work fine in my X-Box PS2 and a DVD-ROM drive in an older PC.
