I purchased this keyboard to replace a Microsoft Natural 4000 Keyboard. Initially, I had connectivity issues when setting up and while using the keyboard. The keyboard would sleep often and wouldn't wake up. It wasn't until a co-worker recommended that I try purchasing a separate Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) dongle. Once I did, I was golden. The keyboard was a lot more responsive. What I especially like about this keyboard is how comfortable it is to type on. Personally, I prefer soft keys. However, if you're a keyboard masher who prefers stiff (mechanical) keys, then this keyboard won't be for you. There are a several things I dislike about this keyboard, which prevented me from giving this 5 stars: * It would have been nice if Microsoft included a Bluetooth LE dongle so that I wouldn't have had to purchase one on my own. * I know this keyboard was really intended for the Surface; however, it would be nice if this keyboard came in multiple colors, especially black, so that I would match the rest of my system. * I'm not a fan of the Fn (function) key. As an application developer who relies heavily on keyboard shortcuts, I use my function keys often as well as the shortcut keys for things like adjusting the volume. I hate having to toggle the Fn button just to perform certain tasks. I feel that Microsoft should have kept those buttons separate. * I feel that there should have been more spacing for the keys on the right side of the keyboard similar to the Natural 4000. I use the Insert, Home, Delete, End, arrow keys, and 10-key very often. Although I don't seem to experience issues with the positioning of the 10-key, I do tend to press the wrong key when reaching for the Insert, Home, Delete, End, and arrow keys. Before, I could press any of them without looking at the keyboard. Now, I actually have to look down just to make sure I'm pressing the correct key since the keys are so close to the Backpace, Right-shift, and Right-Ctrl keys. If it weren't for these shortcomings, which are all based on my personal opinions, I would have given this keyboard the 5 stars it truly deserves. If the issues I experienced are non-issues for you, then I highly recommend this keyboard. The moment Microsoft releases a black version of this keyboard (if they do), I won't hesitate to buy that as a replacement.

This keyboard is awesome! I get complimented every day on it! The force of the buttons make it real smooth and very quite! If you bang your keys this keyboard will make it seem like you are typing on clouds. The only design flaw is that the arrow keys are too close the the 10key pad and the CTRL key! Sometimes i press ZERO when pressing the right arrow or CTRL when pressing the left arrow key. Other than that it is an awesome!!

The Surface Ergonomic Keyboard is interesting. Even though the body is made from plastic the materials look and feel nice. The cloth material on the wrist rest is soft and smooth. I have seen pictures of some keyboards that look like they have been discolored by dirt and sweat. I haven't had mine that long but have not noticed any discoloration. Surface Ergonomic Keyboard is easy to type on. I have found that I type better because of the way the keys are separated and how my wrists rest on it. Key travel is excellent and relatively quiet. I use this keyboard with an HO Omen, and it synced easily. I would recommend the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard to anyone.
