Know It's Place and It's a Great Machine
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this as an open box item a few weeks back (to save $$). I am a big fan of the Surface line and own a Surface Book 2 as my primary machine (which I love). But... I wanted something as a small secondary device to take with me for meetings, travel, etc. when I didn't want to lug the bigger machine with me. For that purpose, this machine is perfect. I'm still getting used to it, but when I purchased it, I knew it's boundaries and that it's not a lightning fast primary machine. But most of what I do is web-based and MS Office, so it's actually pretty nice. It's light and easy to carry. I purchased the Signature keyboard and Surface Pen as well, and while it adds cost, it does complete the experience. I'm pleasantly surprised by the keyboard. While it's cramped (due to size), it's surprisingly satisfying to type on. I use the pen for handwritten notes in OneNote and it works well, but I did need to make some tweaks to the handwriting configuration in Windows to control some palm rejection issues. Battery life is decent - between 5-7 hours depending on what I'm doing, which for a secondary device is fine. It charges quickly (80% in about 60 mins). I do sometimes find myself obsessing over available battery left, which ironically is why I purchased my Surface Book 2 as my primary device (about 14-16 hours, so zero battery anxiety). Overall, I would definitely recommend this device. I purchased the LTE version specifically because I wanted something that I could pop open and check email without having to find wifi when on the move. That's proved to be one of the most usable features of this machine. Know what it is and isn't, and you will be happy.

Great things do come in small packages
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendIt's not fast. It doesn't have a lot of disk space. It can't be your main computer. But it HAS LTE. Memo to computer manufacturers: Make more computers like this! It doesn't have to be this small, and another USB port (preferably USB-A) would REALLY help, but this gets everything else right: Touch screen, LTE, keyboard, ability to plug in peripherals, and did I mention LTE? And a real OS? Memo to Apple: forget your stupid iPad Pro and make a Mac that is exactly like this. A great little machine, even with the lack of speed.

Great for carrying about
|Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I had been coveting my associates Surface tablets for years but was hesitant to spend the high prices for the full size Surface Pro. So, I got the Go. It is a great little tablet and super convenient to carry. The small size was not a disadvantage to me at all. It was fast enough on the internet and with downloading and opening software, and I am super pleased with it over all. It even worked really well doing triple duty as my general personal computer for home needs, then took on graduate school needs and even then became my work computer when COVID-19 sent me into work at home mode. It tackled everything with no problems. Eventually though I did run into problems with only a 128GB drive. I added a 512GB SSD memory card into the convenient port on the back of the laptop and that helped. But after a year of honorable service, I did buy a Surface Pro 7 and made sure to buy a large quantity of memory and a bigger drive. That said, I will continue to use the Go for school and travel, as both products are excellent.

Awesome travel PC
|Posted .Owned for 4 months when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I travel a lot for business and would carry a Laptop and an iPad in my bag along with the various charging bricks. If I needed to carry the bag for a long trip, it became very heavy over time. What I wanted was an all in once device that allowed me to access my email and documents, but also allow me to VPN into my company system to do work. I also wanted to have LTE connectivity for when I am not near a wifi access point. For me, the Surface Go made a lot of sense. It is light, small and gives me access to all the apps I need and connectivity to work. For my needs, the perfomance is excellent, but I wouldn't recommend this for gamining or graphic intensive apps. Now I leave the Laptop and iPad at home when I travel. In fact, even when I'm home, I don't pick up the iPad much now that I have this. On the downside, the bezels are a bit thick and it only comes with one USB-C port. Fortunately I don't use a lot of USB add ons since I connect my mouse via bluetooth or use the track pad when on a plane. For travel or when you need a computer while you are out an about, you can't beat the Surface GO for perfomance and value.

A good little side computer
|Posted .Owned for 7 months when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This computer is great for travel and light tasks. A charger is a must while traveling, only 3 hours tops on a full battery. Don’t expect to run games on it if your planning on leaving S mode. Can’t really emulate or run newer games. I’d rather use an iPad because I use mine mainly for media consumption. Watching a days worth of YouTube videos left a permanent ghost image on mine. For what it’s worth; a tablet with the OS of a computer...your better off finding something else.

Super portable windows to go!
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I chose this laptop because it was one of very few with cellular access built in. That is a lot more convenient than tethering every time I need it, which is quite often. It makes a great second computer to use almost anywhere. It is super small and light, and I am able to run any application I have tried. It is just fine for browsing and email on a daily basis. It runs Photoshop CS2020 without any problems. I wouldn't do a whole lot of editing on it, but I mostly need to look at things other people have done. I'm sure this laptop is not for everyone, as the processor is not the fastest or the latest, but it meets my need perfectly and is small enough to carry when I don't want to be bothered carrying a full sized laptop.

An Excellent portable computer
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Pros: - EXCELLENT design with solid kickstand and beautiful screen. - Full mouse and keyboard support... just like a laptop. - Runs Windows desktop applications, both from the store and from 3rd party websites (Requires the free upgrade to Windows 10 Home instead of Windows 10S) Mixed: - One of the best tablet keyboards I've ever used, complete with trackpad. Sold separately, though... Cons: - Windows 10 still lacks the comprehensive gesture support of mobile OS's like iOS and Android. - Lacks touch-optimized applications like iOS and Android. For example, the mobile Youtube app for iOS / Android is still a faster, more responsive user experience than the Edge / Chrome browser website in Windows 10. Summary: This is an excellent product for people who want a small, portable laptop substitute, but iOS and Android tablets are a better solution for people who prefer touch-oriented mobile Apps.

Pretty solid device, wish for better battery
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've had my device for about a month now. I actually really like the portability and the functionality as a whole. I'm sometimes frustrated with the battery life, between 4-5.5 hours at a stretch. But I also recognize that they've basically shoved a fully functional computer into a tablet slightly larger than a KindleFire. I'll be updating in a few months about usage and how I feel about the device.
