I love this laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.You can probably tell by my review summary, that I'm a big fan of this laptop. Now, it's true that if all you're concerned with is price-to-performance, this is not the best value for your money. There are other laptops (like the HP Spectre x360) that are a much better value proposition. Don't get me wrong, this machine is very capable and aside from running some extremely heavyweight applications (AutoCAD or rendering a lot of video), you'll be just fine with most everything you can throw at it. Just for context, do a lot of Web browsing, Word and Excel work, and also Web/Software development mostly in Visual Studio and PhpStorm and this thing handles all those tasks with ease. The real value of the Surface line is in it's premium feel and extra attention to detail. The keyboard is really good and typing while resting your hands on the Alcantara fabric just feels premium. The screen is also very good. Even though the resolution is less than the Surface Pro's resolution (I have the Pro 4), you really can't tell the difference. It does seem to be a bit brighter than the Pro 4's screen too. Battery life is also great. I've been using this laptop at work where the WiFi signal is not great, but this thing never drops the connection and the battery lasts my entire day with juice to spare. I can go on and on about how much I really love this laptop. If you're in the market for a premium laptop, give this machine a serious look. You'll be glad you did. P.S. the Cobalt Blue looks absolutely awesome!!!! It looks a little metallic grey depending on the angle you're looking at it, but awesome nonetheless.

Great laptop with the best reviews

It's everything I wanted - light to travel, more battery life than most, and runs windows. I contemplated spending $500 more for the laptop that bends backward to use as a tablet but I don't even do that with my tablet now that I already have so it was an easy choice. For the neat pen and paint programs, it's amazing.

Blue Screen Error

I bought it about 1 month ago and every day that I use I have problems with the Blue Screen Error. The first time I had this problem, I used the "get help" tool and a Microsoft woman helped to stop this error, but my laptop did an automatic update and the error is happening again!

- A:Answer It comes with Windows 10 S which is the same as S mode. Windows 10 in S mode is a specific mode of Windows 10 that offers a familiar, productive Windows experience that’s streamlined for security and performance. By exclusively using apps from the Microsoft Store and browsing safely with Microsoft Edge, Windows 10 in S mode keeps you running fast and more secure day in and day out. If you want to load something like Google Chrome you will need to load the standard Windows 10 version. This can be done very easily from the computer by just by visiting the Microsoft Store and downloading the quick update.

- A:Answer Save on the computer size, weight and the growing challenges you will face in finding said computer, but just opting for a laptop, Surface or tablet that doesn't have this, but will run Windows or IOS. Simply buy a slim portable DVD/Blue Ray writer that will accomplish what you need when you need it. I use the LG Ultra-Slim Portable DVD Writer all the time (when needed). I bought this for $35 at the time, but it’s now just $23 at the link below. It's easy to simply plug into a USB drive and use this when I want to watch a movie, need to burn a CD to my music collection or load software that has been delivered on a Disc becoming almost non-existent since virtually everything has to be downloaded. I still buy CD's since I will listen to these in my car and I enjoy having the hard copy, but I always copy these onto my computer and have virtually moved to where I won't buy a movie that doesn't come with a digital copy that I can add to my collection of movies in Vudu. Save yourself the challenges of finding a laptop that has a built in DVD/CD writer and get a portable one that you can use when you want.
