I have moved on from my 2007 iMac, which served me well for over 10 years, to the Surface Studio. I have been circling this purchase for a while and after looking at my options in this space, I took the plunge. I love the hinge design and the ability to move the screen into a good angle for drawing. The Surface pen has a nice heft and feels good in the hand and on the surface's screen, which feels fairly natural to draw on but not as good as the Wacom Cintiq, which has more of a friction-y paper feel. The system's capabilities are more than enough for the workload I will throw at it; mostly Sketchbook Pro and Illustrator, while also using it for daily web browsing and misc. items. IMO, Windows 10 isn't as good an OS as macOS but that's a trade-off I was willing to make as Windows has improved over the years. I'm dinging a star for two reasons: one, the inability to use the studio as an external display but more importantly the issue regarding the pen whereby straight lines appear jagged. This still isn't fixed and Microsoft really should be resolving this issue. For me, I can turn on stability controls in the apps I use so it wasn't a deal breaker, but it is disappointing that a defect affecting a key element of what makes the Surface Studio unique is still around and given the price of the system it's sad to see that a fix hasn't been found yet.

This is an incredibly slick computer, best I have ever owned. The screen is pretty much second to none. The hardware is like it was made at Apple, and by that I mean the quality of construction is top notch. This computer was not made for me but I still love it. It was made for an artist. I love it as my main computer, because it was simply impossible to find a monitor that was touch and had anywhere near this kind of resolution. Even to this day you can only get 1080p touchscreen monitors that are much small that this one. So even though the target market was artists it is the best computer for me too, since I love touchscreen and big beautiful high res monitors. The only thing I will ding it on is the lack of thunderbolt ports, which would allow fast connectivity for things like external GPUs, and being able to use this monitor as a display for other computers. And also it is a bit pricey. But for that price you get something you can't get elsewhere, so it is worth it.

Beautiful machine, the screen is lovely. It is a bit under powered, but you really don't buy all in ones for their processing power. Touch works properly, easy to use. Good keyboard and mouse, works well with the pen. My wife is very happy with it. Best Buy has good prices and it arrived as expected in good condition.
